TA DA!!
"These are the barracks," You said while leading them into a cabin.
"There's so many..." Farlan said, looking around.
"Yay! We're all together!!" Isabel cheered while Levi said nothing.
"Unfortunately, girls have a separate space," you said with an apologetic smile.
"Awe! But I want to be with them!"
"You two gentlemen will be sleeping here," you explained, gesturing to two beds. Levi walked up to them and rubbed his fingers on the underside of the bed. You sighed, already knowing what he's going to say. "There's a lot of dust and dirt in this place. Only because it hasn't been used and was only cleaned a couple days ago. So, sorry if it doesn't satisfy you." You rolled your eyes lightly.
"Perfectionist garden gnome..." You said under your breath.
"Huh?" You heard Levi growl out. He stalked up to you and you could clearly see the height difference. You were probably about three inches taller than he is. Your face contorted into a deep scowl.
"Hey, hey..." You growled, your face becoming darker. "Who the fuck do you think you're intimidating, small fry?" Farlan quickly came in between you two, blocking Levi.
"Sorry! P-please excuse Levi! It's perfectly fine!" He quickly said. You sighed through your nose and allowed your face to relax.
"You better remember this. All three of you. I'm not as soft as I seem. One wrong move your life could end prematurely," you warned, eyes narrowing. Farlan vigorously nodded.
"Got it! Thank you!" He replied a little too loudly.
"Your training will start tomorrow morning. If you need anything, just come to my office," you said before turning and walking out of the building, shutting the door behind you. You stayed leaning against the door.
"Don't pull anymore stunts like that, Levi. We've got enough eyes on us already." You heard Farlan say.
"Did you not hear what that piece of shit was spouting out of her piece of shit mouth?" You heard Levi reply, which made a smirk crawl its way up your face.
"Levi-bro! Don't go saying that about her when she was the most kindest to us." Isabel quickly defended.
"We weren't just caught by accident you know. I hope you haven't forgotten why we're here, Levi," Farlan said.
"Yeah, I know," he replied. You let out a quiet chuckle before beginning to walk away back into HQ.
'Reason, huh?'
~
The three of them heard a chuckle come from outside the cabin, causing them to snap their heads towards the door.
"Dammit, did she hear us!?" Farlan exclaimed, quickly tensing up.
"Do you think she's going to tell commander?" Isabel asked, just as worried.
"Tch. We'll confront her later," Levi said.
"Later?! We could possibly be in trouble now!" Farlan argued.
"I highly doubt she'd be the type to rat on anyone. So, as I said before, we'll confront her later," Levi finalized. They both reluctantly agreed as well and that ended the conversation.
~
It was a little before dinner and you were in your office just doing paperwork like always. Anaka was standing next to you, looking over your shoulder.
"So, how are the new recruits?" She asked.
"Two of them are fine, but the third one has an attitude problem," you replied, signing off a document. She let out a chuckle and rearranged the papers.
"Sort of like you," she teased. You rolled your eyes.
"Oh shut up." It was silent for a moment, your pen being the only thing making noise. "Anaka." You broke the silence. She looked down at you quizzically.
"I want you to join my squad," you stated. Her eyes went wide with shock.
"M-me?! But... I don't have the skill level—!"
"Nonsense. The last I heard you're pretty good at kicking ass," you interrupted. She thought for a moment before nodding lightly.
"Alright. If you think that's what's best..." She agreed slowly. You smiled brightly.
"Great!" You replied cheerfully. There were sudden knocks on your office door. "Who is it?" You looked over to the door.
"It's Isabel, Farlan, and Levi-bro!" A cheery voice replied.
"Come in," you invited. The door opened, revealing the brunettes and blond.
"Should I leave, Sergeant?" Anaka asked, already taking a step away from you.
"Yes, go get ready for dinner," you replied. She saluted to you before walking past the three and out of the office. Isabel all of a sudden ran up to your desk and slammed her hands down, causing you to look up at her.
"Hey hey! I was wondering something!" She said, excitement laced in her voice.
"What is it?" You inquired, putting your pen down.
"I was wondering if you'd like to be my friend!"
"Friend?" You repeated. She nodded.
"Mhm! You've been the kindest to us since we met! So that's why I asked!" She replied. Your brows raised.
"If you want to, sure."
"Yes! Yes!" She exclaimed happily while jumping up and down. You looked out the window to see the position of the sun.
"You three should head to dinner," you suggested. Farlan and Isabel nodded while exiting your office, but Levi stayed back. You looked at him, waiting for him to say anything.
"Need anything?" You asked while lacing your fingers together.
"Are you going to tell Erwin on us?" He inquired suddenly. You looked at him for a moment before letting out a laugh. "Oi, what's so funny?" He scowled. Once your light laughter calmed down, you looked him in the eye.
"Nope. What's the point? I don't even know the reason. However, make sure you carefully plan your moves. One wrong move and it can backfire badly," you advised. Your smile turned into a smirk. He nodded a tiny bit before leaving the office.
...
"YOU FORGOT TO SHUT THE DOOR, YOU FUCKING SHITTY BRAT!!!!" Your enraged shout echoed down the hallway.
~
"YOU FORGOT TO SHUT THE DOOR, YOU FUCKING SHITTY BRAT!!!!" Levi heard Y/n scream. He just scoffed lightly. As he walked into the mess hall, he immediately sat down next to Farlan with Isabel across from them.
"What did she say?" Isabel asked, her voice low.
"She said she wouldn't say, but said that we should plan our moves carefully," he replied quietly.
"Strange. It's almost as if she's letting us," Farlan muttered to himself.
"But that just makes it easier, right?" Isabel asked. The both of them nodded. Sooner than later, the three of them heard light snickers and turned their attention to two guys sitting across from them. Whispering to each other and throwing glances at the three. Isabel was about to stand up, but a voice beat her to it.
"Cadets Johnson and Wilson. My office, now."
~
It was completely silent after you called those names. You're pretty sure you heard someone go oh shit.
'Oh shit is right, I'm gonna beat the shit out of them.' You thought. The two cadets gulped before slowly getting up and walking past you without eye contact. You turned around on your heel and began following them to your office.
Cadet Micheal Johnson, ranked 7th in the top ten trainees squad, and is respected by his fellow comrades. Cadet Daniel Wilson, ranked 5th in the top ten trainees squad, usually popular with all of the girls, excellent fighter.
"Have a seat," you offered, gesturing to the two seats in front of the desk. The two of them sat stiffly down. "Now, tell me. What exactly were you whispering about?" You laced your fingers together. The two were reluctant to talk or answer your question. That fueled your annoyance.
"I do believe I instructed you to treat them with respect as they are now your comrades, did I not?" You asked again. The two boys nodded. "Now. What were you whispering about?" Your voice lowered dangerously. But still, they didn't say anything.
"Alright. For disobeying my instructions and not answering to your superior, what should your punishment be? No food for a day? Run 200 laps? Or perhaps... stable duty?" The last one snapped them out of it.
"We were just talking about how the Survey Corps retreated thugs from the underground!" Johnson blurted out.
"Oh? And what did that conversation entail?" You asked with a small smirk.
"We were just wondering why they could just get a free ticket to join when we had to work and train for three years!" Daniel followed. Your brow twitched.
"Those three came from the underground where it's either kill or be killed. God only knows what the hell they've been through all their life. And they didn't get a 'free ticket' into the Survey Corps, they were given a choice. Now, as a punishment, you are to clean the mess hall for the next week after every meal, do you understand?" You asked, narrowing your eyes at them.
"Yes," they replied quietly.
~
A little while later those same guys walked back into the mess hall, almost like sloths. They plopped down back at their table, not spared a minute before they were bombarded with questions.
"We have to clean the mess hall after every meal for a week," the three heard Daniel say.
"Ooh, that's rough dude," someone else said. A woman with brown hair and goggles, or glasses, I don't know what the fuck they were, started laughing, drawing everyone's attention.
"Why are you laughing?" One of the guys asked.
"I've known Y/n for a long time. It's not unusual of her to punish you with cleaning. She's very sensitive when it comes to respecting comrades," she replied. That drew Levi's interest for a second, but he pushed it to the back of his mind.
~
You put your pen down since you're finally done with paperwork after like eight hours. After staring at papers for hours on end, your eyes were burning badly. So, skipping one dinner can't be bad, right? You neatly stacked the papers and put the pen away while resting your arms and head on top of the desk.
'Maybe Anaka will come wake me up, or something...' You thought while dozing off.
Ja ne!
