Chapter 2
It's so cold, too damn cold. Yet here you are sweating your ass off, refusing to shead a single layer of sweaters and jackets piled onto your body. Winter wasn't your favorite season by any means. You hated the cold crisp air, getting a cold every other week wasn't really a neat idea. Especially when you work full time at a small cafe/bar. It was a weird concept but it was still some form of income.
Speaking of your job, your currently busy with serving the drunk or teen clientele. A normal friday afternoon, not too busy but not too slow. The small business had of a more rustic industrial feel. Metal pipes lines the walls with old county styles bar stools and chairs littered the main dining room. Your fellow co-workers busy with their own duties. Yet here you are, with a bright red nose and a large cream scarf wrapped snuggly around your neck. A off gray jacket loosely clings to your body as you fix your crooked name tag.
"Hey (Y/N). You better take your jacket and stuff off before boss man sees you." Spoke Lana, your work friend whom you've only hung out a few times out of work hours. She is great, almost like the mother of the group. She has light brown eyes with long dirty blonde hair pulled back into a high bun. She was pretty chill for a assistant manager. Unlike the asshole of a manager, who always pokes fun at you for being gay. Which wasn't bad, just really annoying.
You knew you should probably listen to her but, you could care less right now. Your cold and it doesn't help that the heater is from the dinosaur era. It really only heats the bathrooms at this point. If your lucky that day it heats the break room too, but sadly the vents in the break room haven't been clean in a few days so it's probably feels like a freezer in there.
Ding! You glanced over at the door. Watching as two tall men walled in. You couldn't really see their faces see as the top of their jackets was obscuring your view. They were about the same high, one looked a bit broader than the other male but not by much.
They looked around confused, trying to find the cash register. Which doesn't surprise you, the cash-wrap was placed in a very odd place in the cafe, in the far corner of the store. They did not think the floor plan out well when they were building this place.
Finally both men walked over towards you. Glancing at the menu too see what they want. You just hope it isn't some ridiculous coffee order. You really didn't want to deal with anyone's mocha-choka bullshit right now. But it bound to happen at some point today.
"Hello, can I get two medium coffees? Just black." Asked the broader of both men. His voice wasn't as deep as you expected. You got a better look at his face when he fixed his jacket collar. He has blue eyes, almost looked a bit gray in certain lighting. Scruffy dirty blonde hair and a bit of a beard. He looked familiar but you couldn't think were you've seen him before.
"That will be $6.78." You replied. He nodded as he dug in his jacket pocket for his very worn looking wallet. He pulled out a 10 dollar bill, handing it to you as you began to gather up his change. He shook his head.
"Keep the change." He said as he grabbed both coffees handing the other to his friend. You just look at him. This was nearly a four dollar tip. The most you've gotten out a person was a dollar or two. So you were a bit surprised.
"Uh..thank you sir." You replied watching as they both took a seat near the windows. You glanced over at Lana who had been watching the whole time. She just gave you a thumbs up with a too big for life smile. You just rolled your eyes with a laugh. Glancing back at the two men. They looked like whatever they were talking about was important. You just shrugged and began to take other customers orders.

It been about a hour and the men are still here, clearly their coffee cups are empty. It looks like they're waiting for something? Or someone. But that really none of your business so you just shrug and turn to Lana, who was currently clean out beer mugs.
"Hey don't those two guys look familiar?" You asked her point over at the two. She glanced up over the counter too look at them.
"Not really, but their both pretty cute." She teased. You lightly shoved her earning a giggle from the blonde girl. "You should go talk them up, who knows they might be into guys."
You rolled your eyes. Highly doubtful that they'd like the same sex. Where your from only 5% of the population is gay. Usually their already in a relationship. You just shook your head not wanting to walk up to them and embarrass yourself.
Ding! Once again a customer walks in. You look up only to freeze. This person doesn't look friendly by any means. He has a deep gash on his cheek that goes down to his neck. He was wearing heavy combat equipment with very heavy looking military boots. He just gave off a aura that screamed at you too just hightail it out of there. But you couldn't bring yourself to move. He glanced around before setting his eyes on you. He began to walk over, taking very loud strides.
"I need help finding someone." He spoke, in a very odd accent almost like he's from everywhere at once. Now that he's closer you could tell the gash was a very old scar. His eyes were a deep brown. And he was completely bald. With a strange tattoo on his head. Like a octopus with a skull.
"One is blonde the other has shoulder length brown hair with a metal arm." You looked at him like he was crazy, which he probably is let's be honest. You just shrugged. He didn't like that response, he grabbed you by your scarf pulling you nearly over the entire counter. He smelled like old blood and ash.
"I need a better answer than that piggy." He spat. Tighting his grip on your scarf. You were speechless. You could feel all the moister leave your mouth.
"I-I don't know! Nobody has walked in here that looks like that." You spoke, glancing at Lana who was just as frozen stiff as you. He snorted. Pulling you over completely the counter slamming your face on to a table top. You let out a yelp. He went over looking you in the face.
"You see I don't think your being honest. I think-" He began to apply pressure on your arm. "Your lying through your teeth. Now little piggy, you better start squealing before I break your arm." He spoke, putting more pressure on your arm. You thrashed under him trying to get him off. You could hear chairs and tables being moved, while people scattered out trying to save their own skins.
You could feel your arm was almost at its breaking point, literally. You screamed and thrashed more trying to get the crazy bastard away, with no luck.
Crack! Your eyes widen as you slide off the table. You looked at your arm, it was okay? It wasn't broken. You looked over see the crazy man hunched over a chair holding his nose. You saw blood pouring out from his hand. He was glaring at the two guys from earlier. Who now were showing their faces. You nearly shit yourself. Captain America and the Winter Soldier was standing in front of you. Oh boy what a day.
