It was the next day, and everyone sat at breakfast. I invited Linh to sit with me and Biana, because I hated that the staff had to serve us, then eat after us. We were talking and laughing all through breakfast. I eventually worked up the courage to scan the faces of the selected. I thought the most interesting faces were the boy with ice blue eyes and blonde hair, Linh's brother Tam, a dark skinned boy with deep blue eyes, and Fitz. I wondered why he would enter. We'd broken up! Because HE decided I wasn't enough and cheated on me. Biana had begged me for hours to keep him until at least the second round. I had agreed, but only because I wanted to see how he would do. Today was indeed the first round, and when I was done eating, I nodded to my dad and he cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. Everyone looked at him and he nodded to me. As I stood up and started to speak, everybody's attention turned to me.

"Welcome selected! We are happy to have you here today. I want you to know that your personal guard can help you with anything if you ask, but they are not maids or butlers so do not expect that of them. I've been asked to inform you that the first round will consist of meetings and dates. I would like to get to know you better. It may be untraditional, but we will not be eliminating anyone in round one. Please enjoy the rest of your breakfasts and I will see you all one by one after breakfast."

I then sat back down and obviously I asked for seconds. We had such good chefs.
