Nathan's POV:

I stood up. I could see Master Head not too far away. He was on the ground, defeated. It was finally over. The darkness was gone. I looked around. All the other brawlers were cheering at me. I felt honored, but I also felt like I was receiving false praise. I couldn't have done it without my... My friends! Eve, Jacob, Alex, Maia! Were they alright?

I scanned the area for them. I soon found them looking over Maia. I pushed my way through the crowd towards them. It didn't look like Maia was moving.

Me: "Is Maia alright?"

Alex: "She's week. Whatever that darkness was drained her energy."

Maia: "A-Alex..."

Alex: "Maia, it's alright. You're gonna be ok."

Maia: "I still can't believe you're alive. This whole time I thought you were dead."

Alex: "Maia, I had to go into hiding. It was the only way to protect you. Please don't be mad at me."

Maia: "Well, to be honest, I don't care anymore why you did it. I'm just glad you're alright."

Alex: He smiled. "Me too."

Maia: She then turned to me. "Nathan..."

Me: "Maia?"

Maia: she smiled slightly. "You're alright... kid." I smiled softly. "Just, don't do anything that stupid again. K?"

She closed her eyes, but was still breathing slightly. I hugged her. I wasn't sure how much time she had left, but I didn't want her to feel lonely as she went.

3rd Person:

Alex joined in on the hug. Eve did too. She wrapped her ribbons around her and sent a warming aura to her. A tear formed in Nathan's eye. It slid down his cheek and off his face, landing on the Smash Stone.

When it hit, it turned into steam. The steam turned into a light. It started growing brighter and started getting the attention of people. It also started glowing. It floated into the air above Maia. It then sent a tear drop of light down that landed on her forehead. Her eyes opened and she sat up, looking at Alex.

Maia: "Alex?"

Alex: "Maia. You're alright!"

Maia: "Yeah, I feel as good as new." She then looked up at the orb of light. "What's that thing?"

Everyone else looked up at it too. It just seemed to sit there, doing nothing. Nathan reached for it. It quickly moved away. It mover to where Master Head was lying on the ground. It then poured all the light into his mouth. At first, nothing seemed to happen. But all of a sudden, Master Head opened his eyes and darkness started shooting out of his mouth. It looked like an exorcist.

The dark missed that came out had no shape. It spun in a spiral above everyone's head before zipping off in all directions. Master Head slowly lifted off the ground. He looked a bit dazed, like he had just been hit over the head. He looked around, everyone was looking at him. No one said a word. Master Head broke the silence with a god-like voice.

Master Head: "Who is the young lad who freed me from the darkness?"

Everyone looked at Nathan and pointed at him. Nathan looked around like he had just been accused of bullying. He stepped forward.

Master Head: "Well, this is quite a shock. I'm sorry I ever tried to harm any of you. But, thanks to this brave individual, I am now free. And this Universe shall return to its once peaceful state." Everyone started cheering but Nathan was the only one without a smile on his face. Master Head Noticed this. "What's the matter, child?"

Nathan: "Well, first off, my name is Nathan. And, to be honest, I couldn't have done it without all of them." He gestured to his friends, the brawlers. "They're the reason I'm standing here today. They're the reason you are free. Without them, this world would still be covered in darkness."

Master Head: "A man who puts others before himself. He he. Now that's what I call a hero. And heroes like this deserve to make their own decisions. So, Nathan, let me ask you something."

Nathan: "O-OK. What?"

Master Head: "Would you like to stay with us here in the Smash Bros universe?"

Nathan: He stepped back. "Me?" He turned back and looked at all his friends.

Master Head: "Or, would you prefer to go back home?"

Nathan: He turned back towards Master Head. "Home? But, I thought there was no way to go back."

Alex: "Yeah... That may have been another lie." Everyone looked over at Alex. Maia slapped him. "Ow!"

Maia: "Really!?"

Alex: "Well, I guess I do deserve that."

Nathan: "You mean, you can take Jacob and me back to our world?"

Master Head: "Well, I could. But it would be easier if Your friend there just does it."

Midna rubbed her hands together. She then snapped her fingers and a portal appeared on the ground in front of her. Nathan and Jacob walked next to the portal. They could finally go back home. They could see their family again. They both looked over at their friends once more. Nathan walked up to them. First, he went to Midna.

Nathan: "Thanks for helping me become friends with Maia."

Midna: "No problem." She winked.

Next, Nathan walked up to Susan.

Nathan: "Thanks for showing me the way."

Susan: "Thanks for going in the right direction."

Eve walked up and wrapped her ribbons around Nathan's leg. Nathan knelt down and picked her up. He then walked up to Alex and Maia and set Eve down.

Nathan: "Take good care of her."

Before he could say anything else, Maia gave him a big hug.

Maia: "Come back soon, K?"

Nathan: "I will... Or you could come with us."

Maia broke out of the hug in shock at what Nathan just said.

Maia: "Y-You mean...?"

Nathan: "You can come back to our world, just like you always wanted."

Maia looked over at Alex.

Alex: "Whatever you choose, I'll always be by your side."

Maia: "Thanks, Nathan, but I already got my family right here. Besides, someone has to keep a good eye on Eve for ya."

Nathan smiled and gave Maia one last hug. A long one. Jacob just rolled his eyes. When the hug was over, Nathan knelt down to Eve's level.

Nathan: "Be a good girl while I'm away, ok?"

Eve: "Sylveon!"

Nate smiled and stood. Jacob and him walked onto the portal. They looked back at their new friends one last time and waved bye. They all waved back as Nathan and Jacob disappeared into the portal and back into their own world.

Nathan's POV:

So, yeah. We had quite an adventure, Jacob and I. Not too long after we returned to our world, Master Hand and Crazy Hand returned, and Smash City was rebuilt. I will never forget that adventure. It was probably the best one of my life. I can't wait to go back there again and have another smashing adventure.
