(Warning: This chapter contains many major spoilers. You have been warned.)

Nathan's POV:

I decided to explore the cave. I'm not sure why but it felt like someone else was in here and that they wanted me to find them, like a lost kid calling for their mom at a shopping mall. The Waddle Dee followed close behind me with a torch. Pittoo also decided to follow.

Me: "Have you explored much in here?"

Dark Pit: "No."

We continued further into the cave until we reached a large area. There was a stone table in the center of the area and a couple of shelves carved into the walls. There was a hole in the ceiling allowing moonlight to shine onto the table. There were also tree roots coming through the ceiling. There were items on the table too, including a couple pieces of paper and a box of crayons. There was also a backpack leaning against the table. It looked like it belonged to a little girl.

Me: "Did you know this was here?"

Dark Pit: "No."

I looked at the pages on the table. There were things colored on them. One of them was a picture of Alex. I recognized it from the picture in Maia's scrapbook. It was the same hand style. Could these be Maia's drawings?

I heard a couple of rocks fall. I looked over and saw Waddle Dee trying to dig through some rocks. I walked over and decided to help him. I dug out a few rocks until I could feel a breeze coming from the other side. I continued to dig until there was a big enough gap for me to get through.

When I reached the other side I could see a beautiful view. We were closer to the mountains. There was a big canyon not to far away. We were on the top of a hill with a big tree standing over us. The moon could be seen clearly in the night sky. I looked at the surrounding area. There was something out of place. I could see a building near the edge of the canyon. What would a building be doing in the middle of nowhere? I then remembered my dream. Susan showed me an image just like this. Could this be the place she wanted me to find?

Me: "Do you know what that building is."

Dark Pit: "No."

Me: "Can you say anything other than no?"

Dark Pit: "Until you find something I know about, no."

We went down to investigate the building. When soon reached it. There was a sign that read "Barista's Cafe". Strange place for a cafe to be, but, then again, this was the Smash Bros universe.

We entered the cafe. a small bell attached to the door rang when we did. There was light jazz music playing. There were several tables and chairs. There was a long counter but no one was behind it. It seemed like no one was here. I walked up to the counter.

Me: "Hello?"

???: "Hi!"

A small white dog with a small black tail, rosy cheeks, and wearing red headphones popped up from behind the counter. It surprised me so much that I fell backwards onto the floor.

???: "I'm Barista. And welcome to my cafe."

Dark Pit and the Waddle Dee helped me up.

Me: "Uh, hi. I'm-"

Barista: "Nathan, I know. Susan told me you'd be coming."

Me: "You know Susan?"

Barista: "Of course. Now what can I get y'all. It's on the house tonight." Waddle Dee pointed his spear at the menu where it read 'milk'. "Coming right up." She poured some milk into a small glass and slid it towards the Waddle Dee who started chugging it down. "So, can I get you boys anything?"

Me: "Not at the moment."

Dark Pit: "No thanks."

Barista: "Well, if you need anything let me know. I'm always right here." She pulled out a laptop and began typing on it.

Me: "Well, there is one thing I need."

Barista: "And that one thing would be..." Her face didn't turn away from the screen.

Me: "Do you know where Susan is."

Barista: "Yeah, why?"

Me: "I need to speak with her." She didn't respond. She just kept on typing on the laptop. "What are you doing?"

Barista: "Updating my blog."

She turned the laptop towards me revealing her most recent post.

"Hanging out in the cafe with the chosen one. Freaking out on the inside right now."

I just rolled my eyes at it.

Me: "Anyways, can you take me-"

Barista: "Sure, follow me!"

She jumped down from her seat and started walking towards a door that read "Employees only!" Dark Pit and I followed her. Waddle Dee was sleeping on the floor cuddling an empty milk glass in his hands. I'm sure he was fine.

The doorway led to a hallway. There were several doors along the wall but there was also another door at the very end. I could tell that was the door we were going to. The door opened on its own freaking me out even more. I started to question if I really wanted to see Susan now.

Beyond the door was a stairway leading down to another door. This one opened by itself too. There was a single light in the other room giving it a horror effect. We slowly walked down the steps into the room.

When we entered, I was reminded again of my dreams. Most of them took place in a dark room with a single light in it. I was shaking a little and felt like something bad was about to happen. I looked over at Pittoo who had a face that said "Can we get this over with already?"

Barista: "Susan, you have a guest. I think you know who it is."

Susan: "Ah, the chosen one. At last we meet."

I could see a silhouette moving towards the light. It had the shape of a human with a tail. There was also a soft orange glow coming from the tail and from something on their shoulder. As they moved closer into the light, I could make out who she was. She was defiantly a Pokemon, but not the one I was expecting to see.

Susan: "Hello, Nathan."

Me: "I-I can't believe it. Susan? You're a Shadow Mewtwo?

Susan: "I prefer to be called Susan."

Me: "Right, sorry."

Susan: "Barista, you may go."

Barista: "Okey dokey!" Barista a left the room. Dark Pit followed. It was now only Susan and I.

"So, we finally meet. I predicted we would." I didn't speak. "Why do you stay silent, child? Am I too great to be spoken to? Or is it because of that wound?"

I looked at my hand which was still in the cast. Susan waved her hand and an orange light surrounded my arm. It felt brand new. I took it out of the cast and moved it around. It felt amazing.

Me: "Wow, thanks."

Susan: "No need for thanks. It's an easy task, really."

Me: "Yeah, for you. How did Alex manage to get a Pokemon like you as a partner anyways?"

Susan: "There's a question. I knew you had some. It started back when I turned Dark. I use to be a normal Mewtwo. But one day I found a dark stone on the ground. I felt like there was some sort of connection between the stone and I. But when I touched it, I lost control of who I was. I didn't remember anything.

Then, one day, Alex came along. I was trying to kill him but he used the Smash stone on me before I could kill him. I was in control again but was still stuck in my dark form. I thanked him by joining his team and trapping the evil that was Master Head.

However, not all the evil was contained. Some grew in size and power until it was finally ready to take action. It over powered the villains and turned them into dark clones. When It found out you were here, it decided to strike. It succeeded, and Master Head is now free once again, and this world will be consumed in darkness if you don't do something."

Me: "Me? What can I do? Master Head is the biggest, strongest foe I've ever seen. It would take a miracle to destroy him."

Susan: "It took a miracle to trap him in that machine. If its happened once, it can happen again."

Me: "Yeah, but he's such a powerful foe. He's even stronger than Master Hand and Crazy Hand put together."

???: "That didn't stop us from trying."

Me: I turned around. "Who said that?" I didn't recognize this male voice. It didn't sound like any Nintendo character I knew.

???: "Oh, sorry, I should have introduced myself before speaking."

I looked back towards Susan. She had a slight grin on her face and a look that said "You're going to love this". I heard someone stand up and start walking towards us. I could see a silhouette behind Susan. It was a human shape, like, an actual human shape. It looked about six feet tall.

It then walked into the light. They wore a read t shirt and black pants that were held up by a brown belt that had the Smash Bros logo on it. They also wore red boots and orange gloves. Their hair was black and spiked up on one side. I recognized the face and who it was and still couldn't believe I was looking at them.

Alex: "Hello, I'm Alex."
