Jacob's POV:

The Grand Celebration was going to start in 1 hour. Nathan and I got ready. Nathan put on the suit with the red tie and I put on the suit with the blue tie. They were perfect fits. I looked over at Nathan. He was checking himself out in the mirror. I could tell he was nervous.

Me: "You ok?"

Nathan: "Hmm? Oh, yeah, I guess."

I didn't know what to say.

Me: "That was a great fight today."

Nathan: "Hmm?"

Me: "Between you and Ash."

Nathan: "Oh, yeah."

Me: "Are you ok? You seem nervous."

Nathan: He let out a sigh. "It's just that, Everything that's happened so far, and I'm being celebrated for most of it." He walked over to one of the beds and sat down next to Eve. "What if this was all just a big mistake? What if I wasn't suppose to be the chosen one? I mean, yeah, we are in the universe of our dreams, but is all of this really worth the trouble?"

He put his head down. Eve wrapped her ribbon like feelers around Nathan's arm. I sat down next to him. I still wasn't sure what to do but I felt like giving him a hug, so I did.

Me: "It's going to be alright. We'll get through this together and find a way back to our world."

Nathan: He sniffled. "Thanks, Jacob." There was a short pause. "I think I'm ready now."

He lifted his face revealing a smile. A tear was running down his cheek. Eve wiped it away with one of her feelers. We both stood up.

Me: "Alright, let's go have some fun."

Nathan's POV:

We entered the building the celebration was taking place in. One thing was for sure, it was big. It looked like every inkling in Inkoplise came. Some brawlers even came. I was still a little nervous about all of this but Eve's feelers were wrapped around my arm sending me a calming aura.

???: "I was promised cake!"

Me: "That voice sounds familiar." I looked over and sure enough there was Mindy, Lucas, Riley, and Soup. I walked over to them. "Hey guys."

Mindy: "Oh. Hi, Nathan."

Me: "Glad to see you guys could make it."

Riley: "Are you kidding? We wouldn't miss this for the world."

Mindy: "How are you enjoying things so far."

Me: "Everything's going great. How about you guys?"

Riley: "Umm," she looked over at Soup. "Things could be better."

Soup: "I was promised cake and the only edible matter here is Brownies!"

Lucas: "If you think about it, it is food so-"

Soup: "But I was promised cake! Where is it?"

???: "It's coming out in a little bit."

I also recognized that voice. We all turned our heads and saw Callie and Marie.

Marie: "Glad to see you boys could make it."

Jacob: "Well, we had nowhere else to go and nothing better to do."

Callie: "Well, now that you're here we can do this."

Callie pulled out a phone.

Mindy, Lucas, Riley, & Soup: "Selfie!"

We all got together in a big group and took a selfie. When we looked at our selfie I noticed a couple of familiar faces in the background. I turned around and sure enough, there stood Midna and Maia. Maia was wearing a beautiful pink dress. For a second we just stood there, looking at each other. Midna came up to me and adjusted my tie.

Midna: "Make a good impression."

I just smiled softly. She then moved away to leave Maia and me alone. It felt like one of those moments in a movie where you felt like you were the only two people in the world.

Me: "Lovely dress."

Maia: "Thanks. Zelda and Midna helped me pick it out. And that's not a bad suit you've got on either."

Me: "Oh, well, thank you."

Eve then came up and wrapped her feelers around my arm.

Maia: "And I see your pet got an upgrade."

Me: "Yeah," was all I said in return.

Callie: "Attention, attention everyone!"

Callie and Marie were on a stage.

Marie: "At this time, we would like to call up a special individual."

Callie: "Please welcome..."

Both: "The Chosen One!"

My heart sunk. I knew this was coming but I don't think I was prepared for it. I looked at Maia.

Maia: "You better get up there."

I nodded and started walking towards the stage. Eve was walking right beside me with her feelers around my arm. All the inklings cheered as I walked past them towards the stage. When I reached the edge of the stage, I knelt down towards Eve.

Me: "Thanks, but I've got it from here."

I walked onstage. The Squid Sisters greeted me. I began to feel a bit light headed. I never liked being onstage, especially when I was the center of attention. I took a deep breath to try and calm down. The crowd soon settled down.

Callie: "So, Nathan, from our understandings, you've come across many dangers and faced many difficult challenges."

Marie: "Yeah. You must of had quite the adventure."

Me: I looked at the crowd "Y-Yeah. I-It's been crazy."

Callie: "I bet it has. I know I wouldn't be able to survive all you've been through."

Marie: "Me either. I would have most likely cowered in fear."

Callie: "Now, I'm sure many Inklings here have questions they're just dying to ask."

Marie: "Yes, witch inkling would like to ask a question first."

A bunch of hands shot up. I wasn't expecting to answer questions. But then again, what was I expecting. An inkling was chosen and they asked their question.

Inkling: "What's your favorite color?"

Ok, I defiantly wasn't expecting a question like that, but I kindly answered it anyways.

Me: "Uhh, red. But I'm also a fan of orange."

Another inkling was chosen.

Inkling: "What's your favorite subject?"

Me: "Math. But I also really like art."

Inkling: "What's your favorite number?

Me: "3, maybe 7, or probably 12."

I then saw Mindy raise her hand. Hopefully she had a question that would stop this madness. She was the next one called on.

Mindy: "What's been your favorite part of this adventure?"

Finally, a realistic answer. But at the same time, I didn't know how to answer it. This whole adventure has just been a life changer. There were many memorial parts.

Me: "Well, that's a tough question. But I think the best answer is that every part of this adventure has been my favorite part."

Mindy: "How so?"

Me: "Well, the moment I first stepped foot into this world..." I tried to think of words to describe how I felt but I couldn't think of any. "I-I can't describe the feeling. I was full of joy but at the same time surprised and scared. It seemed that every corner I turned, there was a new path to explore. Some led to near death experiences, while others led me to amazing new friends." I looked towards my group of friends when I said this. I saw smiles grow on all of their faces. "Every part of this journey has just ben a life changing experience. It's filled me with many amazing memories that I will never forget. And, if I could, I would love to relive every part of those memories." My group of friends started to applaud. It soon spread until everyone was applauding. A smile grew on my face. "T-Thank you. Thank you all."

Callie: "Thank you all indeed. Sadly, that's all the time we have for today."

Marie: "Let's hear it once more for The Chosen One."

The crowd cheered once more as I walked off stage towards my friends.

Callie: "Now, let's lighten this place up with a little music, shall we?"

They started singing one of their most famous songs: Fuel the melody.

"You, and me, the moon, that rocks around.

Give in, to me. You need to hear our song.

Need to, have it. You need to hallelujah,

when I rule, when I rule,

and I fuel the melody you better win!"

Everyone started dancing when I reached my group of friends. But someone was missing. Maia wasn't here. I asked Midna where she was. "She went outside," she replied. I then went outside to try and find her. Thankfully, she didn't go that far. I found her sitting on a railing looking at the stars. I slowly walked towards her.

Me: "Hey." She didn't say anything. She didn't even budge. "You ok?"

Maia: "Yeah, it's just that I'm not all that good at dancing."

Me: "Well, neither am I."

Maia: She looked at me. "Really."

Me: "Yeah, it's never been one of my strong suits."

Maia: "Same here."

I sat down next to her. We both looked up at the beautiful night sky.

Me: "Man, it's beautiful."

Maia: "Yeah. When I was little, I would go outside every night and just look at the stars that were in the night sky. I would sometimes even give them nicknames."

Me: "Really?"

Maia: "Yeah. Didn't you ever do anything like that"

Me: "Well, no. But sometimes I would look at the brightest star in the sky and make a prayer."

Maia: "Really?" I nodded. "What would you pray about?"

Me: "Oh, just that tomorrow would be a greater day than before."

Maia: "Do you still do it."

Me: "Sometimes."

There was a short pause.

Maia: "Hey," I looked over at her, "I never had a chance to thank you."

Me: "Thank me? For what?"

Maia: "For getting me out of the shadows." I gave her a confused look. "When my brother, Alex, went missing, I kinda went into hiding. But when you came around, Something inside me woke up. It was like my brother was here, right beside me, once again. For the first time in forever, I was happy again."

I-I didn't know what to say. I was shocked.

Me: "Well, I... I'm happy to help. I mean, that's why I'm here, right? The Chosen One, here to make people smiled and to also get burned by fire, fall from a high place, and have claws sinking into my flesh while doing so."

Maia: She laughed. "He he. You're just like him. Kind, funny, brave, and willing to help anyone who's in trouble."

Me: "You know, I bet we have a lot more in common than just that."

Maia: "You do. I just listed the obvious ones."

Me: "I bet adventuring is on that list."

Maia: "It is."

Me: "Same with Making new friends."

Maia: "Defiantly."

Me: "And making others smile."

Maia: "Oh yeah. That's Alex for ya." We were both looking at each other now. We then heard cheering coming from inside. "They must have announced the Splatfest winners."

Me: "That or Soup finally got his cake."

We both laughed and then looked at each other again. We moved closer towards each other.

Midna: "Am I interrupting?"

We moved away from each other in shock.

Me: "No, no. You're not interrupting anything."

Maia: "What do you want, Midna?"

Midna: "I just wanted to tell you they're serving cake now."

Maia and I looked at each other.

Maia: "Yeah, we should probably go inside now."

Me: "Ok, I'll meet you in there."

Maia walked inside leaving Midna and me outside.

Midna: "So, what was going on between you two just now."

Me: "What? Uh, n-nothing. Nothing at all."

Midna: "You're blushing."

Me: "That doesn't prove anything."

Midna: "It proves that you like her."

Me: I let out a sigh. "Fine, fine. I like her. So what?"

Midna: She chuckled a little and put herself in my face. "I knew it! Ever since you two first met, I knew there was a spark."

Me: "And your point is?"

Midna: "My point is that I was right. I even bet my life to the brightest star in the sky that you two would get together."

She pointed to a bright star in the sky. But something was off about this one. It was much brighter than any of the others and It looked like it was getting closer. That's when I realized it wasn't a star, bu some kind of jet. It shot some red laser our way.

Me: "Look out!" I grabbed Midna and jumped out of the path of the laser. "Are you ok?"

Midna: "Yeah. I guess this makes us even now."

I stood and looked up to see that the Jet was actually a spaceship. It flew above us and a figure jumped out of it, landing in front of us. He looked like Fox but with grey fur.

Me: "Star Wolf."

Wolf: "So, you're the so called 'Chosen One'?"

Me: Midna stayed close behind me. "What do you want?"

Wolf: "You know what we want." He looked up at a fleet of red space ships who started laying down fire. I knew immediately that this was not good.
