Jacob's POV:

Early the next morning, we arrived in Inkopolis. The Pokemon, Nathan, and I got off the train. Toon Link and Zelda stayed. We were greeted by Sonic, Mario, Little Mac, (regular) Link, and Ash and Pikachu.

Me: "Hey guys. What are you all doing here?"

Ash: "We were waiting for you guys."

Link: "Little Mac and I are going to be training you. Maia told us to meet you here."

Nathan: "What about you two?" Nathan was speaking to Mario and Sonic.

Sonic: "The next splatfest starts today at sundown. It's team Sonic v.s. team Mario."

Mario: "We were just promoting people to join our team."

Nathan: He smiled. "Well, I wish you both the best of luck."

Sonic: "Thanks. Come on, buddy, let's go get some more fans." Sonic sped away in a cloud of dust.

Mario: "Hey, come back here." He chased after Sonic.

Nathan and I looked at each other and smiled.

Link: "So, are you both ready?"

Me: "I mean, I guess so. What about you, Nate?"

Nathan: He took a deep breath "I'm a little nervous, but if we have to learn how to fight to defend ourselves, and there's no other options, then I'm in. When do we start training?"

Link: "Uh, I wasn't asking if you were ready for practice."

Me: "Oh, then what were you asking?"

Nathan: "Yeah, If we aren't training, what are we doing?"

Link: "You weren't informed? You're meeting the Squid Sisters."

Nathan: "We're what?"

At first, he sounded excited, but a second glance revealed that he was really nervous. I wondered why.

Link: "You're the chosen one, Nathan. You're the news everyone's been talking about. And your bravery on Bowser Jr's ship has the whole universe talking."

Nathan: "You... everyone's heard about that?"

Ash: "News travels quickly around here. And your bravery makes it a 'must hear' story."

Pikachu: "Pika!"

Nathan: He put his head down. "...I see."

???: "Hey look! It's him!"

We all turned our heads and saw a few inklings looking straight at us.

Inklings: "It is him! It's the chosen one!"

They all started running in our direction.

Me: "Uh oh. This isn't gonna be good."

I looked over at Nathan. I could tell by his wide mouth and eyes that he wasn't excited. I looked at Link.

Me: "Is there any way we can stop them?"

Link: "No. He's pretty much screwed."

I tried to think of a plan to stop them but nothing came to mind. Eve all of a sudden jumped out in front of Nathan. Pikachu and the other Pokemon did so too, creating a wall. The inklings stopped.

Inklings: "Let us through. I want to see the chosen one."

A thought then came to mind and I decided to put it into action.

Me: "Hold on everyone. I know you really want to see... him, but right now he has places to be and can't interact with anyone at this time." Everyone let out an aww. I didn't know what to say after that. Link stepped in.

Link: "Don't worry. You'll all be able to see him at the end of tomorrow's splatfest."

Everyone let out a cheer and returned to what they were previously doing. I let out a sigh. Link put a hand on my shoulder.

Link: "That was some quick thinking. Good job."

I smiled softly and looked at Nathan. He gave me a soft smile in return. We then started walking towards Inkopolis plaza. Ash took the Pokemon to a place where they would be out of the way but where we could still visit them. Eve stayed with Nathan.

Nathan's POV:

We soon arrived at the plaza. It looked a lot bigger than it did in the game. There were two trucks in the middle of the plaza getting ready for the splatfest. Squid kids were everywhere. Some were buying new clothes or guns while others were just chatting. We continued to walk until the giant TV turned on. The Squid Sisters; Callie and Marie, appeared on the screen.

Callie: "Hold on to your tentacles..."

Marie: "It's Inkopolis news time!"

They revealed the current battle stages and then started talking about the splatfest.

Callie: "As you all know, the next splatfest starts tonight."

Marie: "I know. I can hardly wait."

Callie: "But which team is going to win?"

Marie: "That question will be answered at the end of the splatfest."

Callie: "That's right. We're having a grand celebration to announce the winning team and to welcome the one and only..."

Marie: "*Gasp* You don't mean..."

A picture of me appeared behind them.

Callie: "The Chosen One has arrived in Inkopolis!"

Marie: "Splatastic!"

Callie: "And you can see him yourself come the end of the splatfest."

Marie: "I'm getting all shaky just thinking about it."

Callie: "That's all for Inkopolis news. Until next time..."

Both: "Stay fresh!"

The TV turned off. I could hardly believe what I had just heard. We then walked into the Squid Sister's studio. I couldn't believe this was happening. I tried to take a deep breath to calm myself down. It made me feel a little better. Eve pressed herself against my leg. I picked her up. That also made me feel a little better.

We then found ourselves on the second floor and in the room directly next to the Squid Sister's studio. Link and Little Mac left us there and told us where to find them when we were done. We agreed and watched them leave. I let out a sigh.

Jacob: "Are you ok, Nathan?"

Me: "Yeah, it's just that, I'm not sure if I can be a celebrity.

Jacob: "What are you talking about? Being a celebrity is awesome."

Me: "Yeah, but it's a lot of work. I know what's it's like to live that way. I mean, yes, it does make you feel happy, but in the end, you feel like someone who had a rough day at a midnight shift and didn't get out until 6:00 AM. (Does anyone get the reference?)

Callie: "There he is!"

We turned our heads and saw the Squid Sisters themselves walking towards us. Callie grabbed my hand

Callie: "It's such a pleasure to finally meet you."

Marie: "We've heard all about your adventures."

Me: "It appears everyone has. And, please, the pleasure is all mine. It's not every day you find yourself fighting a villain and the next day you're meeting celebrities because of it."

Marie: "True, true."

Callie: "So, what shall we call you?"

Me: "I'm Nathan. And this is my good friend, Jacob."

Jacob: "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Me: "And this is Eve."

Eve: She jumped out of my hands. "Eevee!"

Marie: "Awe. She's adorable."

Callie: "Please, follow us to the studio. We can talk more there."

We followed them into the studio. It was a beautiful room with a big, glass window and an interesting floor design. There were a couple of studio cameras, a large TV, and some of those chairs you usually see when people are getting interviewed, along with a table.

Callie: "Would you boys like anything?"

Jacob and I looked at each other before answering.

Jacob: "Some drinks would be nice."

Callie: "Butler!"

Another squid walked in.

Butler: "Yes, mam?"

Callie: "Bring us some drinks please."

Butler: "Yes, mam."

We all sat down at the table. Jacob and I next to each other and Callie and Marie next to each other. Eve climbed onto my lap.

Callie: "So, tell us about your adventure."

Marie: "How did you get here?"

Jacob and I looked at each other again.

Me: "Well, it's kind of a long story."

Jacob: "It all started when I got captured by the creatures of Twilight. They gave me to the crocks who took me to a castle. Thankfully, Nathan and his friends saved me."

Marie: "Wow, that's amazing."

The butler came in with our drinks. We gladly took them and thanked him. I took a sip of mine. I wasn't sure what it was but it tasted great.

Callie: "And how did you get here, Nathan? How did you save your friend?"

Me: "Well, I didn't do it alone, that's for sure."

Marie: "Really?"

Me: "Yeah, I needed to save my friend. But I knew I couldn't do it alone. So my new friends helped me. They took me to Smash City. But then, I was attacked. The crocks tried to take me. But thankfully, Maia saved me and helped me escape."

Callie: "Maia? You mean Alex's sister."

Me: "Yeah, she's the one."

Maia's POV:

Little did Nathan and Jacob know that they were on live television. I asked the Squid Sisters if they could record their conversation without them knowing. They agreed. I continued to watch even when Midna came in.

Nathan: "Anyways, we found ourselves at the Holly Jolly village which was surprisingly close to the castle Jacob was in. We made a plan to save him and put it into action."

I turned off the TV. I couldn't bare to listen to him anymore.

Midna: "Why did you turn it off? I thought you loved that show."

I tossed the remote to her.

Me: "You can continue to watch it if you want."

I walked onto the balcony to get some fresh air. I didn't hear her but I could tell Midna followed me.

Midna: "What's the problem?"

Me: "I'm not sure. There's just something about him I don't like."

Midna: "Are you sure it isn't the other way around." I didn't respond. "You know, he kind of reminds me of your brother." I lifted my head and looked at her. A smile grew on her face. She moved in front of me. "Ah, so that's what's up. He reminds you of your brother." I still didn't respond. Instead, I put my head back down. "Well, I don't blame you. He has a lot of his characteristics. He's brave, kind, handsome...."

Me: That's when my whistle blew. "Excuse me? Handsome? I'd rather date Captain Falcon than be seen holding hands with him!"

Midna: "Alright, calm down. I was just saying tha..."

Me: "Well I'm just saying that he's not my type. So stop trying to get us together."

I walked back inside and sat down. Of course, Midna followed me.

Midna: "Just try it."

Me: "Just try what?"

Midna: "Hang out with him for a little bit. See how it goes. If it goes bad; you can blame me all you want." I didn't answer. "Just try it, please?"

Me: I let out a sigh. "Fine, I'll hang out with him at the end of tomorrow's splatfest." Midna was about to cheer but I stopped her. "But, if anything bad does happen..."

Midna: "Alright, I get it. Are you gonna finish your show or what?"

I turned on the TV and continued to watch.

Nathan: "That's when he jumped up to try and flatten me. But, thanks to my quick thinking,"

Nathan's POV:

Me: "I jumped out of the way just in time to see him fall right through the airship."

Callie: "Wow, talk about suspense."

Marie: "You really did all that?"

Me: "Well, I don't like to brag but, yeah. I defeated him all by myself."

Callie: "Looks like someone doesn't need any bodyguards." The Squid Sisters started laughing. Jacob chuckled a little too. I just smiled. "So, Nathan. I heard you two are going to be training."

Me: "Oh, yeah. We decided that the only way we're going to survive in this world is if we learn to fight."

Marie: "Buy you've been doing a great job so far."

Me: "Yeah, but it hasn't been easy."

Callie: "I see. Butler!"

Butler: "Yes, mam?"

Callie: "What time is it?"

Butler: "Almost noon, mam."

Marie: "My, how time flies."

Callie: "Well it was nice chatting with you two."

Jacob: "It was nice chatting with you too."

Callie: "Butler, show them the way out."

Butler: "Yes, mam."

Callie: "We'll see you two at the grand celebration, right?"

Jacob: "You can bet your tentacles on that."

We both exited the building.
