Nathan's POV:

Me: "Susan, I want answers and I want them now." She didn't answer. "Where are you?"

Susan: "Nathan."

Me: "Susan, I want to know what's going on. Why is my friend getting hurt? Why is this world so dark and evil?"

Susan: "They're coming."

Me: "I know they are and I want to know why."

Susan: "You must look inside."

Me: "What?"

Susan: "Look inside."

Me: I was so confused. "Look inside what?" there was no answer. "Susan?" still no answer. I was all alone. then I heard a voice behind me. I turned around and saw Eve surrounded by darkness. She was getting beat up very badly. "Eve!"

Susan: "She can't stay this way forever, Nathan. You have to evolve her if you want her to live."

Me: I turned around but didn't see anything. "Evolve her? What will she evolve into?"

Susan: "The only way to find that out is to look inside."

Me: "Look inside of what?"

I didn't get an answer. I turned around and saw Eve struggling to get on her feat. I ran towards her to try and help but the darkness grabbed me and pulled me away. I watched as it surrounded her. I screamed out hoping it would stop. It did. I woke up. I quickly looked at Eve. She was sleeping peacefully. I let out a sigh and petted her trying not to wake her up.

I then heard a noise. It came from the window. I looked over and saw someones shadow move across it. I went to investigate. I opened the window and looked out. I heard something above me and looked up. Someone was climbing onto the roof. I quickly grabbed my hoodie and started climbing after them. It was a little tricky but I managed to grab the top. I peaked over and found out who it was. It was Maia. She was standing on the edge looking at me. I could tell she wasn't happy.

Me: "A little help, please?"

Maia: "I didn't say you could follow me up here. shouldn't you be in bead?"

Me: "Shouldn't you be in bead too?"

The mad look on her face went away. She grabbed my hand and helped me up. She let out a sigh and started walking towards the other end of the lab.

Maia: "I can't sleep. I've never been able to since my brother disappeared. I always have nightmares about it." I started following her. "I don't understand. He always keeps his promises." She looked up at the stars. "Why didn't you come back?" I thought I saw a tear run down her cheek. I wanted to hug her to make her feel all right but I knew she would scream at me if I did. She looked at me and then looked away quickly. She definitely was crying. "Now all I have is nightmares."

Me: "Well my dreams haven't been that great either."

Maia: She didn't look at me. She just looked over the edge at the view. "How so?"

Me: "Well tonight I had a dream about Eve getting beat up by darkness. And afterwards Susan told me to look inside. All I know is that it has something to do with evolving her."

She didn't say anything in response. It was almost like she didn't hear a word I said. Then she spoke.

Maia's POV:

Me: "Why did you follow me up here?"

Nathan: It took him a while to answer. "I didn't want you to be alone."

Me: For some reason that ticked me off so much. "You're just like my brother."

Nathan: "Is that a good thing?"

Me: 'No,' I said to myself. "Just go back to bed."

I heard him walking away. I didn't look back at him. I pulled my phone out of my pocket. Well, Alex's phone. It was the last thing he gave me before he went away, forever. I even remember that day.

Me: "Alex, I can't take this. I already have one of my own."

Alex: "If you don't take it then you won't have anything to remember me by."

That's the sentence that made me take it. I hugged him.

Me: "Please be careful."

Alex: "Don't worry. I'll be back soon. I promise."

Susan: "Alex, It's time to go."

And after she said those words he got up and they both entered the halberd. My eyes filled with tears, both then and now. I soon got over the fact of him being gone and I gave my old phone to Midna. I wiped a tear from my cheek. I sat over the edge and looked up at the stars. I use to see them as fascinating and beautiful now all I see are annoying little specks.

Nathan's POV:

The next morning I woke up with several different questions. 'What do I look inside? Does she mean inside of myself? And what will Eve evolve into? A Flareon? A Glacion?' As I got ready for the day, the questions spun around my mind. I just couldn't figure out what it all meant.

After I finished getting ready. I grabbed my stuff and got ready for the day. Among the stuff I grabbed was the stone that Susan told me to grab. I then thought to myself 'Maybe this is what Susan wants me to look inside.' There was only one way to find out I lifted it up and dropped the rock. It cracked in half revealing something shiny on the inside. I picked it up and looked at it. It looked like a CD but it was pink. I then realized what it was. 'I have to show Sycamore!'
