I feel… like a a pirate. Looking over the ships side I could see the waves crashing into the wood as we sail towards Magnolia, a town that was where Fairy Tail called home.

Jyugo you best back away from the side of the boat, we all know you can't swim

Turning around sharply as the two began to laugh I gave a glare but backed away from the side knowing that with me they were probably right. Looking around now all the Fairy Tail members were on board, us having left the other guild for our trip. Natsu was running around like it was the best day ever seeing as how Wendy used Troya to fix his motion sickness temporarily while Lucy and Erza sat on some barrels, I was still getting used to these new people though unlike Wendy who seemed to trust.

Natsu
Oh no... hurry cast the thing again my stomach's starting to kill me

Wendy
I'm sorry I can't it only works so many times

I guess I should get used to these new people seeing as how Wendy took up there offer to join them. And where Wendy goes I go… unless it's like a girl thing or something.

I can't believe were joining Fairy Tail!

Wendy said to me and I gave her a small smile. The ship began to pull into the docks and we all started to exit the ship then make our way to the guild. The town was much larger than Cait Shelter's town and was full of a lot of people who all seemed to be in high spirits. Entering into a large building that had the worlds 'Fairy Tail' on it I could see all sorts of people chatting amongst themselves cheerfully and it didn't take long for us all to be introduced.

Long story short Wendy, Jyugo, and Carla are Fairy Tail's newest members treat them well

Being surrounded by multiple people I gave an awkward smile as me and Wendy both took a step back in surprise and looked to each other and held each others hands. Right this is going to be something.

Wow I can't believe this is happening! First I meet Erza now I'm meeting Mis.Mirajane!

I'm guessing your feline friend uses the same magic as Happy? You mind telling us what type of magic you two use?

Wait a moment, don't you dare compare me to that furry hound doll!

Wendy
Well I guess Jyugo uses a requipped magic of sort maybe? I use healing and support magic, actually I'm a sky dragon slayer!

The room went silent at Wendy's statement before it erupted in cheers again about having three dragon slayers (minus Laxus) then began to cheer loudly and welcome us as then guild hall burst into a celebration.

There's so many... it's kinda hard to pick one

Take your time, though if you don't mind a little advice I'd stay away from solo jobs for now. Since your just starting out it might be better to join a team on one of there jobs, you'll take a cut in money still but the experience is way worth it

That sounds like a lot of fun!

I admire your enthusiasm but take a look at your future partners, I'd say you and Jyugo are both better off pairing up and taking a job on your own

Oh right a boy joined with you didn't he, well your both fairly young still not that I'm measuring you two on age alone but still it's just some advice so do what feels right for you guys

Looking at Wendy from my table in the distance which was near a stage I gave a sigh as she started talking to a white haired girl and a blue haired girl along with Lucy. Wendy said she was going to go look at the job board to see if anything seemed like a good fit for us but watching her look at the thing for a good 5 minutes I started to get bored. We've been here for about three days now and stayed at the infirmary of the guild till we can find a good place but with how thing are with money it's kinda hard. There's a girls dormitory that all the girls stay at but that would mean me and Wendy would be spit up which she won't do even though I told her it was fine, as of now moneys our biggest concern. Looking back up Wendy was no longer at the board and after looking around I saw her near the guild door with Natsu, Happy, and Carla talking to some angry looking black haired guy.

Natsu
Guess it's just us then!

Wendy
Wait! Um Jyugo do you want to come! Were going to go follow a rumor about a dragon sighting that might be me or Natsu's Dragon!

Jyugo
Na it's fine

Oh well ok... will be back soon...

Watching as they left the guild I gave a huff then stood up before making my way over to the board. Well somebody's got to get us some cash, looking at the large amount of jobs available I gave a groan looking for something in my small range of capabilities. Ok lets see lost pigs that escaped there pen? I'd probably end up getting attacked by the thing then spend the entire day running away, so no. Fixing a house that Fairy Tail destroyed by accident? I can't use any building tools even if my life depended on it so no. Take down a giant snake thats in the port taking ships down then relocate it? I'd probably drowned. Stopping a group of thief from stealing from a main merchant travel root into town? Sounds easy enough. Looking at the job requests better I looked over the entire thing.

Leaving out the guilds front door with the job request in hand I left on my way out of town after getting directions from some guy at a shoe shop on the edge of town. The walk was about an hour which sucked but when I finally made it it was like being locked onto by vultures. The second I came into view of the village some guy came running out then dragged me into the place while looking around frantically.

Hey what are you doing let go!

Man
It's not safe outside the village with all that's going on!

Jyugo
Ya I know that's why I'm here!

Man
What? Your the Fairy Tail wizard that they sent?

Jyugo
Ya?

Man
You must be… really strong huh! I-If they only sent you!

The guy seemed to be beaming with joy as he looked at me then grew serious as he placed both hands on my shoulder.

Man
You'll need to speak with the Mayor of this town to be informed of everything, follow me this way!

Being pulled through the empty streets I took notice that even though it was a nice day out nobody was outside. Being pulled into a semi nice house that looked nicer than the others in the town we both sat down in the living room. The guy had brown tan skin and dark navy blue slicked back messy hair that was almost black. He was that of a 34 year old pretty boy who dressed in a white shirt and simple pants and boots but looked composed and ready.

Mayor Fressen
So to begin I'm Fressen the mayor of this village and the one who requested for your help

Jyugo
You?! What were you doing outside? And if your the Mayor why didn't you just inform me of everything outside?

Mayor Fressen
Keeping watch for you of course, the thief's only come out when it's daylight but the second the sun goes down it's safe. Our town has been adjust to doing things during nightfall while then sleeping all day, I do say it's been working out fairly well but most merchants and such don't like traveling at night so we can't go on like this forever

Only in the day huh well then I guess I should head out there now then

Taking my leave into the ghost town I left for the main road which was also empty. The mayor gave me a large backpack full of random things to make it look like I was carrying valuables so as I walked the road I kept an eye out on the tree line watching for anybody who may try to jump me. The day was fairly peaceful and the wind blew strong making today fairly nice and seemed like a waist to spend inside. As the sun shined down on me I gave a shudder as a shadow cast over me blocking out the suns warmth, great it better not start raining. Looking up thinking a tree must be overhead or cloud my eyes widened as a giant bird thing with 4 legs came flying down towards me. It's body was as big as a buffalo but it cut through the air like a bullet as I felt my body get picked up by the bag of goods like I was nothing in weight I gritted my teeth while holding onto the straps tightly.

Being shaken from the bag at the bird taking note I was still attached my body rolled onto the ground ruffly and I gave an annoyed grunt as I got up and activated my blade on my left arm as I charged at the bird. Bring a talon up it blocked my first cut then with its other talon brought it's claw down that I had to quickly act at in bringing up my right arm as a blade to block. Why's this hing so raaaa, strong! Pushing myself forward it was pushed away from me and took to the air as it soon began to swoop at me from above. Seriously?! Rolling out of the way and bringing my blade down I managed to cut one of its legs as it passed by to which it gave a sharp screech then took to the air again as it sent a gust of wind my way. Grounding myself by stabbing my blades into the earths surface I held my ground until the harsh winds stopped and I could move again but by then it was to late as it had already had the bag I had previously and took to the air to high up for me to follow after and disappearing over the treetops and mountains range. Great I lost it but I did wound it.

Mayor Fressen
Wow you really fought that thing didn't you?

Jyugo
W-What? What are you doing out here?

Mayor Fressen
I wanted to make sure you were ok but to find the thief to be a giant bird is quite the surprise, but most the victims of the thing died so we just assume it was a group of outlaws and not a wild animal

Villager 1
A bird! That's what we've been hiding from for these last two months!

Mayor Fressen
Go back into town it's not safe out here!

Villager 2
No way if there's a simple bird out there that's causing this village all it's pain then we'll handle it ourselves!

Villager 1
My kids haven't anything but rice for 2 days now!

Villagers starting to gather and creating a riot soon things escalated and I kinda felt bad for the Mayor as he seemed to have no idea how to camp them down exactly.

Villager 1
Whoever wants to help save our land meet her in 30 minutes so we can kill that thing ourselves and get back to living like we used to!

Everyone
Yaaaaa!

Mayor Fressen
Wait it's really not safe out-

The mayor's voice going dead among his people's angered opinions soon they all began to look for weapons.

Mayor Fressen
Fairy Tail wizard I don't want my people to die but I don't want them to become killers either so please before they have the chance will you come with me to finish the beast ourselves? Please I'll double your reward if you do....

Jyugo
I-I… I guess but can you even fight?

Mayor Fressen
Don't worry about me I know a small bit of fighting with a dagger and lance but nothing crazy

Ok well let's hurry then

Making way towards where I saw the creature flee to I was forced to push myself so we could make it before the villagers and I swear I was going to die as my lungs began to burn while starting to run.

Fressen
Are you um.. ok there short stuff?

Jyugo
If I "huff" collapse here "huff" just leave me behind

Not much of a runner are you bud?

I fight and I unlock things "huff" I don't run!

The man started laughing at my struggles as I found him eating at my last nerve but felt my head go light and my feet begin to stumble. Knowing I should of hit the ground I held my breath as I noticed I was being carried underneath someones arm.

Hey I can walk!

Mayor Fressen
You know kid… I wasn't always the mayor! My father was and he was great at it but once he passed on everyone in the village voted for me to take his place even though I wasn't the most favored child at first. I used to constantly try and mess with my fathers work or cause trouble when I was little but when I became 19 and my father became sick I knew I had to grow up and stop goofing around causing trouble. I needed to try and make up for all my little pranks and such and make it right for the town while my father got better… I guess when he passed on the people saw I had changed for him… then and become more responsible

That's… nice, can I walk on my own now?

Being ignored by the man as he gave a chuckle  and ran up the mountain I was carried until we came to a cluttered graveyard of items and such from wagons and bags along with large sticks and branches making the entire area look like an oversized bird nest. Placing me down we began to walk through the area till we heard the light noise of the beast chirping in a smooth melody. Turn the corner slowly we could see the large bird thing laying down surrounded by blood as the chirp from it began to fade then start up again as if it was falling asleep. Slowly approaching with our blades raised ready to slice down I paused as the beast stopped breathing then we heard it.

"Chirp Chirp wololo Chirp shreek!"

There cuddled up to the now lifeless bird laid two smaller versions of it who were clinging to there parent for warmth in the dead ones feathers.

It… it was feeding its kids

The things not breathing anymore, your slash to it's leg must have been deep enough to make it bleed out

Hearing shouts from down the mountain I began to panic. If they come up here they'll see the mother's dead but kill her chicks to make sure this doesn't happen again. Looking to the mayor quickly then the birds I bit my lip. They were just living… there not monsters... there just trying to live.

W-What, I can't I can barely take care of myself much less two whatever those things are!

Fressen
So you want to leave them to an angry mob on a monster hunt?

No but I… I can't do it. I'm not capable of it. They deserve better, better than me. Hearing the shouts getting closer my mind started to race and I made my choice while hearing the shouts from Fressen behind me. I couldn't take care of them there was no way I would be able to… but… looking at the chicks cuddling up to there mother I clenched my fists. They deserved better yes but I could still try, fleeing down the mountain side there was no point in sticking around for an angry mob to take there rage out on me.

(End of chapter. Hey so... what should Jyugo name these two birds while traveling with them? Think up some fun names and we can see what will be selected~)
