"Love ..."
"Hmm?"
"There's two strange looking guys at the door ..."
"Who you calling strange boy?"
I swiveled round in my computer chair at the familiar voice, hadn't I imagined that very tone, over and over again in my mind?
Cory's back was to me, his arm blocking the face of the stranger. He turned at the same time as me, a scowl marring his face.
"Do you know this guy?"
"What-
"Move aside boy, of course she knows us, she was the one who thought us up in the first place." The voice growled and at the same time Cory was shoved aside and the mysterious person was revealed.
My mouth dropped open.
"But, but, but your-
Obsidian Bones rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah whatever, look myself and Cobalt decided it was time for intervention."
"What do you mean?" I stammered. "Colby's here too?"
"Present!" Came a cheerful voice and Cobalts shaggy head appeared from around the corner of the door. He waved enthusiastically, a grin splitting his face. "Greetings o all powerful creator of magic words."
Obsidian rolled his eyes and stormed forwards until he was looming directly over top of me, one long finger pointing at my face.
"Let's cut to the chase. Why am I hardly in the story at the moment? It's an outrage! I'm supposed to be the main character for pete's sake!"
"It creates suspense for the reader," I stammered, trying to keep his wavering finger in view. "people will want you more if you aren't in the story for a while."
Cobalt suddenly appeared, smacking his brothers hand aside and staring him down. "Bones," He hissed, "don't be so selfish, you know that wasn't the question."
Obsidian rolled his eyes. "Fine. We came today to see why you haven't been writing the story as much as you used to. There is only so much suspense people can take you know."
Cory chose this moment to find his voice and stomped over to join the party. He craned his neck up to look at Obsidian, folding his arms and puffing out his chest as he did.
"Who the fuck are you?" He demanded, eyeing the Captain up and down.
Obsidian Bones does not take well to being given the 'eye' and I could tell he was two seconds away from swatting Cory aside the way one might flick a piece of lint off a shirt.
"Babe," I said through gritted teeth. "These are the characters from the book that I told you about, you know the one with the Pirates?"
"Obsidian Bones. Who are you?" Obsidian said loudly, speaking straight over top of me and looking disdainfully down at Cory. To give the boy credit, he didn't back down in the slightest.
"I happen to be Daisy's boyfriend." Cory said smugly.
Colby raised his eyebrows at me. "So that's why you haven't been uploading huh?" He wiggled his eyebrows. "You've been getting busy!"
I blushed bright red and smacked him on the arm. "Oh my gosh I can't believe you just said that! No of course, not, i've been busy with study and had some problems to sort out, writing hasn't been top priority and thats it, I swear!"
"Yeah yeah sure you have," He said, leering at me creepily. "What are you studying, anatomy of the human body?"
I smacked my forehead with the palm of my hand and groaned to myself. "No, I'm studying Art ..."
"Oh and I suppose you've been using him as your nude model?"
"OH MY GOD NO! What is WRONG with you! Did I seriously create you to be this dodgy?"
"I'm pretty sure you did."
Obsidian stopped arguing with Cory for a moment to look over and add to the conversation.
"You did actually and it's annoying. Can you make him mute in the next chapter? Maybe he could have temporarily lost his voice and then-
"Shut up Bones, your ideas suck."
"Your face sucks."
"Your Mum sucks."
"My Mum is your Mum too you idiot."
"Oh right well your Dad sucks then."
"Your Dad sucks too barnacle face."
"Fish breath."
"Squid for brains."
"Woah!" Cobalt held out his hands, a hurt look on his face. "That last one was too far man."
"Well sorry about it!" Obsidian shot back, his hands clenched into fists.
I laughed at the familiar phrase, thinking that I had used it just the other day. "Where did you guys pick up the 21st century lingo? Did you stop off at a couple of pubs on your way here or something?"
Both Pirates looked away sheepishly, Obsidian scratched the back of his head uncomfortably and Cobalt muttered something about being 'thirsty' while shooting me shifty looks.
"What?" I gasped, you can't be serious, please tell me you didn't cause any trouble ..." I stared particularly hard at Obsidian but to my surprise it was Cobalt who spoke up first.
"Well actually there was this one guy ..."
"What do you mean, this 'one' guy?" I asked suspiciously, poking him in the chest with my pointing finger.
"Okay maybe there was a small group, but they were insulting our clothes!" He exclaimed, looking extremely disgruntled. "What I am wearing is the height of fashion in my time," He brushed a piece of fluff of his red velvet cloak. "The ladies love it." He smiled cheekily at me, flicking his shaggy hair out of his eyes as he did.
"Pfft," Obsidian scoffed. "Lies brother, we all know that-
What ever he had been about to say was suddenly cut off by the wail of sirens outside my window and to my horror, both of the Pirates instantly ducked.
"Please don't tell me they are looking for you." I groaned, covering my face with my hands and feeling as though I was suddenly in a scene from the movie 'Enchanted'.
"One of the despicable fellows might have alerted the authorities to our superior fighting skills yes, but we will be fine in here, Im sure they won't suspect a children's boarding house."
"I am not a child," I hissed, rushing over to check that the Cops had disappeared around the corner before pulling the curtains. "I'm eighteen years old, nineteen in November! That's practically as old as you two."
"Yes but you are eighteen in the 21st century and we are from a time long before yours, everyone knows that the people in this time mature alot slower." Obsidian said smugly. "There is Historical evidence to prove my point, 16 year old girls 100 years ago would have been expected to be married by now and settling into the role of a good housewife. Your time is almost up, your nearly nineteen and your not married, you would be practically repulsive to society. People would have written you off as a hopeless case, destined to be alone forever with only cats for company."
I stared him down. "As impressive as that speech was, you are in my time now and I have power over you. If you don't to be killed off in the next Chapter, you will sit your smart arse down on my bed and shut up."
He narrowed his eyes. "You wouldn't kill me off, I'm the main Character."
"Just watch me." I growled.
"Come on guy's," Cobalt started. "I'm sensing alot of negative energy directed towards-
"Who would be with Circe if I was killed off?" Obsidian interrupted, taking a step closer to me.
"I'd let Cobalt have her." I replied, grinning internally.
"Actually never mind, you guys keep going." Colby said, his mouth splitting into a wide smile.
Obsidian's eye twitched.
I waited.
"Fine. I'll sit down." He turned on his heel and stomped over to the bed, flopping down beside his brother who looked suddenly downcast.
I took a deep breath. "Right. So tell me again why your here?"
"To find out why you haven't been continuing with the story and help you to write the next chapter!" Cobalt said eagerly.
Cory suddenly appeared next to me making me jump, I had almost forgotten he was in the room.
"So these really are the characters from your book?" He asked incredulously.
"I guess so." I turned to him, running my hands through my hair. " Look, could you possibly-
"Say no more," He cut in. "I've got some work to do on my laptop so I'll be out in the lounge with Robbie if you need me okay?"
"Okay thankyou." I said, leaning in to press my lips briefly to his and ignoring the gagging noises coming from Cobalts corner of the room.
"You're welcome sweetheart."
The door shut gently behind him and I slumped down on my computer chair, spinning around once.
"Okay so what are we doing here then?"
"Well I thought that maybe we could give the fans a run down on what's happened so far!" Cobalt explained excitedly. "That was they can read over this and know what's what!"
I dragged my hand over my face. "Okay, we are not starting from the start of A Pirate's kiss though. The readers can read back over that if they want to, we will start from the start of Sunken Treasures."
"Fine." Cobalt pouted. "How about we start from when Zalas came to get her though?"
"Okay sounds fair." I grumbled and started to type.
(Starting from when Zalas, the Prince of the Air Kingdom came swooping down on his overgrown rats with the intention to take Circe by force.)
A recollection of all the events that took place since then.
By Daisy Harrison.
And Cobalt Bones.
And Obsidian Bones. (Who is the main character of course and greatly essential to the finishing of said story.)
"Don't you think the heading sounds a little biased?"
Obsidian scowled. "No definitely not."
I sighed. "Okay so at the end of the first book, Zalas came on Unabonan and Unabonan tore a huge chunk out of the ship. Aranel also came on her dragon and attacked those who were on the main deck including Obsidian, who her dragon marked with the traitors scar, a wound that Circe's magic healed, but the scar remained, cutting straight down the right side of his face and causing his silver eye to turn a bloody gold that matched the necklace around his neck.
Obsidian made it to Circe first and Aranel caught up and attempted to wound Obsidian again after Circe had healed him. However Zalas turned up and ordered her above decks where her dragon wounded Cobalt in the thigh right?"
"Actually it was in my side, just below my ribs." Cobalt piped up and then he frowned. "I don't like what you're writing about that part at the moment, you make it sound like I'm dying."
I looked at him. "I'm not saying anything about things that haven't happened yet, no spoilers."
"Dammit."
"Okay so meanwhile Zalas was below with Circe and Obsidian and eventually Circe had to go with him and her and Zalas and his party flew back to the Air Kingdom where Circe met the Air Queen and was reunited with Nathaniel who had been taken captive by the red headed Siren in the first book.
"She had been caught spying around the outer walls of the Air Kingdom and they know she doesn't work for the Water Queen, so they put her in the dungeons, with the aim to find out what her intentions were/are and who's orders she was acting upon."
"Yes that's right."
"Okay so then Circe finds out that her Mother is the Queen of Water Kingdom and Nathaniel is her half brother."
"Yes this bit confuses me," Cobalt said. "Is it right that Circe stayed in her mother womb until she decided that it was her time to be born?"
"Yes that's right," I continued. "And when her Father, Queen Airocei's brother went on the hunt for Zeus Gold, Circe's mother was terrified that Circe would be born before they were married. When he went missing, Circe stopped growing and Circe's mother fled the Kingdom on one of her ships, with the intention to find out what had happened to her fiancee.
"Now this part was explained in Circe's step-fathers letter, the Queen and her crew found port in his small town and she fell in love with him, remember, the longer they stayed there, the more human they became. She fell pregnant with his twins, unbeknown to him and when her crew found out that she had committed the deadliest of sins, and had mated with a human, they had to leave her behind for the term of her pregnancy and until she had disposed of the children. There were not supposed to be any half breeds born after when had happened with Zeus Gold you see."
"And thats when Circe began to grow again?" Cobalt asked.
"Yes that's right. Circe began her growth cycle so that she was in sync with her brothers."
"And the Queen nearly died, didn't she?" Obsidian put in quietly. "Hobbson told me that a Siren can only be from water for so long before she begins to turn human and her years start to catch up to her."
"Yes she nearly died," I said softly. "And when the triplets were born she found the opportune moment to protect Circe and also the boys that had no future in the magical world. She used the magic of her pendant to trick her nursemaid and the Duke into thinking that only one child had been born. Circe. The Duke was ecstatic, Circe was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. And in the dark of the night, when everyone was sleeping, Circe's Mother stole out of the mansion with the twin boys and magicked a family into believing that they were there's."
"But there was only Nathaniel in the story!" Cobalt says. "What happened to the other boy?"
"We don't know yet," I said in exasperation. "That's what Queen Airocei was drilling Nathaniel about. But he and Circe had no idea that they had a brother."
"Okay so that part is still a mystery." Obsidian said impatiently. "Then what happened?"
"Okay so while you are on board your ship, fearing for Cobalt's life, Circe was taken to the Dragon Kingdom to learn more of her history. However, on the way there, a terrible tragedy took place and a Dragons egg was stolen by an intruder."
"Oh yes, that's what I was told by Zalas in Chapter Six right?" Obsidian interceded. He frowned, "This is getting quite intense isn't it?"
I nodded. "Yes. I want the readers to have some idea of what is happening, but I want to keep them guessing. It should be quite exciting."
"So anyway, the stolen egg caused the Dragons to be compelled into rising the Dragon King from his mountain. During the ritual, Circe met the Dragon Anthemin and was bonded to him on sight. He has an important role to play in the story as he will be her companion and protector."
Obsidian growled. "She doesn't need one of those. She has me."
"And me!" Cobalt piped up. Obsidian scowled at him and elbowed him the ribs, causing his younger brother to frown and rub at his side.
I rolled my eyes. "So Circe met the Dragon King and Unabonan was commanded by his Father to choose a team of Dragons that would accompany the Navy fleet in search of the Dragon Egg."
"And what about whether I am going to survive or not?" Cobalt croaked, his hand reaching up to tug at his collar uncomfortably.
I smiled. "You will find out about that in the next chapter."
He frowned. "That's not fair."
"It's a story." I retorted. "Too much happiness makes me sick."
"Same here." Obsidian replied. "You should kill him off, we will remember your memory with fond thoughts." He said, turning to his brother as he did so.
Cobalt's reply was to punch him straight on the nose.
"You little shit!" Obsidian howled, falling back on the bed and clutching his face.
I sighed. "Okay well that's all for now then I suppose. Do you guys want to go and scare the shit out of my flat mate by creeping up behind him and putting a sword to his neck?"
"Yes!" Cobalt and Obsidian said in unison, Obsidian's nose suddenly forgotten.
"He is down the hallway in the room with the big T.V, be quiet."
They nodded and crept out the door, making me snigger at the thought of Robbies face when he was faced with those two. Maybe I should go and video ...
Just then Cobalt's head came back round the side of the door. "Daisy?"
"Yes?"
"What is a T.V?"
I sighed and got up from my chair, taking my video camera with me. "Come on, I'll show you. And then after Robbies fainted I'll show you guys how to play C.O.D"
