Maria's P.O.V

James had just left. I walked over to the cafe and saw Peggy serving someone sitting at the counter. I walk up to the counter. "Hey Peggy. How are you?" I asked, trying to be as polite as possible. "Oh whats up Maria? I'm doing good. You?" She asks. "I'm fine. Could you please bring me an application?" I asked her. "On it." Peggy responded, walking towards the back. She came back and handed me a pen and paper.

I sat down at a booth and began filling out the application. Peggy came over and gave me a coffee and glaze doughnut. "Oh, I don't have any money." I said. "Don't worry about it. It on me. I already asked Eliza!" Peggy said, smiling and revealing the gap in her teeth.  "Okay. Thank you Peggy!" 

"Don't mention it."

- After I finished filing the application I walked up to the counter and slid it toward Peggy. "So when can I get an interview?" I asked. Peggy opened her mouth Eliza came out from the back and said "How about right now?" 

I nodded and we sat back down at the booth. Once it finished I said "Eliza, I fully understand if you don;t wanna hire me. After all your fiance did cheat with me." 

"Please don't worry about it. Peggy explained your situation to me so just know that I'm here to help. I may even forgive Alexander. So do you what time do you wanna start tomorrow?" She said, giving me the kindest smile. "Oh thank you so much Eliza!  Does 9 : 30 work?" I asked. "Yep. But if your gonna be a little late please remember to call me." She said passing me and piece of paper with her and Peggy's number on it. "Thank you but..why Peggy's number?" I ask.

"Oh well I figured since she is the reason your here why not give it to you. You guy look like you would make the best of friends so why not." She responded. "Okay thanks." I said.

I put the numbers in the phone and went home. Now I have a job safely under my belt.

I woke up and felt extremely sick. James had already left. I ran into the bathroom and threw up. Okay Maria, its probably just  coincidence that James has been having his way with you and you have been gaining weight and you have been feeling like this the past few days way. 

I call Eliza and she answers right away. "Hey Eliza um so I've run into a little bit of a personal problem so i'll probably be late. The latest i'll be should be an hour." I tell her. "That's fine. I'll see you later."

I run to CVS and 2 or 3 pregnancy tests. I run back home and do them. I put a 15 minute timer on my phone and wait for it to go off.

So the timer went off...5 minutes ago. "Okay deep breaths Maria. Deep breaths. Stop drawing it out." I said to myself. I grabbed the pregnancy tests. First one is positive. I feel like i'm about to panic. Second one is positive. I begin to hyperventilate. Third one is positive. I break down crying.

I walk into work with my eyes red and puffy. "Hey Maria! How are you?" Peggy says, leading me to Eliza's office.  "Oh...I'm fine. After work could I maybe talk to you and Eliza?" I asked. Peggy nodded and opened the door to Eliza's office. I walked in. 

"Hey Maria. So.." She just explained to me what my job was. Taking orders , serving tables just normal waitress things. I begin walking over to a brown haired man. "Hello sir. I'm Maria and i'll be your server today. Would you like to start off with something to drink?" I asked. 

He looked up from his phone. "Maria?!" He said, in surprise. Oh shit. "Oh...Alexander. Hey?"

"Um...I guess i'll just have a coffee." He said. "Okay i'll be right back." 

Peggy had just served some food to another table and I grabbed her arm. "Peggy...I just ran into Alex." 

"Wow. Did he even say sorry for what he did to you?" She asked. I shook my head. "But it's fine. Just...i'll worry about it when I get off my shift." I said.

Alexander had just left and left his receipt there. I looked at it and there was a $50 bill there. Along with a note that said

To Maria,

           I'm sorry for what I did. There is nothing I can do to make up for it so please

just take these 50 dollars. Good luck with life

How sweet of him. He is trying make up for what he did. I walk over to Peggy. "Hey Pegs, look!" I said, excitingly showing her the $50 Alex had left me. "Wow! I cant believe it."She exclaimed. "Hey 'Liza!" She called to the back. "Yes?" Eliza said, opening the door. '

"Can we invite Alex on our little McDonald's trip after work?" Pegs asked. Eliza nodded. "Mar, why don't you go on your lunch break? Peggy you can join her?"

"Yep! Where do you wanna go?" Peggy asked me. "Um...how about we just stop by Shake Shack?" I respond. Just like that, Peggy pulled me of the door.

Peggy is such a cinnamon roll. So innocent and full smiles. Yet here I am - Miss Maria Lewis. A slut. Ruined a perfectly good relationship by sleeping with the guy. Who knew by explain my situation they could forgive me so easily? Something I don't deserve at all.

So I sit down across from Peggy and she goes to grab our drinks. Seriously, why is she treating me so good? I don't deserve it.

Sitting with Alex , Eliza and Peggy at a table at Mccy-D's. Oh my god. Alex was saying sorry to Eliza over and over and over even though she had already forgiven him. 

"So...I kind wanted to tell you guys something...if your willing to keep quiet." I blurted out. I just needed to get this whole pregnant thing out of my system. They all looked at each other and nodded. "So...i'm pregnant. The last thing I want to do is raise this baby around James. Once I get enough money to myself can I move in with one of you?" I said.

They all looked at each other in surprise but then nodded. "Of course Maria. Maybe you can move in with Peggy and Angelica. Although granted I am living with them right now. So it may be a little crowded." Eliza told me. "Thank you so much!" I exclaimed.

"I think Eliza should give you a raise." Alex said. "Yeah 'Liza! Give Mar a raise." Peggy said. "Well alright. How about kind of like a co-manager? Yeah. Lets go for that" Eliza responded.

"No no. Please..I don't need a raise. I haven't even worked there for a day." I tell them. "I don't deserve a promotion."

Peggy puts her hand on my shoulder. "Don't say that Maria. We're here to help. Through all and everything." 

Shit. I'm about to cry. "T-thank you so much guys."
