First Day (Part 2)
"Here we are." Alfred came to a stop in front of Gotham Academy.
Tim, Steph, and Cass got out.
"Have a good day!" Bruce called out to them.
"Will do!" Tim and Steph both smiled and waved at him.
Cass just waved quietly.
"Next stop, Gotham Elementary." Alfred said, driving off.
Damian huffed and crossed his arms.
"You're going to have a good day today, Damian, right?" Bruce asked sternly.
Damian didn't answer.
"Damian." Bruce warned him, "I don't want to be called at work today."
"Fine. I shall have them call Grayson." Damian said.
"Damian. No one will be called today. No one." Bruce said.
"Yes, Father." Damian said.
"Okay, go on." Bruce said as Alfred came to a stop.
Damian got out and went into the building without a word or wave.
"Does he get into trouble often?" Cierra asked as Alfred started driving again.
"Yes. So much." Bruce sighed.
"Too much." Alfred chipped in.
"I swear, he's more trouble then Dick and Jason." Bruce said.
Alfred made a small disagreeing noise.
"What?" Bruce asked.
"I do remember quite a few calls from the police about the two." Alfred said.
"You're right. He's just in elementary and they're just calls from his principal." Bruce said.
"I'm going to get a call today, aren't I?" Bruce asked Alfred.
"Most likely." Alfred said.
"Why is Dick a better parent then me?" Bruce groaned, hands in his face.
"You did one thing right. That was him." Alfred said as he came to a stop in the Wayne Enterprises parking.
"They all have their good days." Bruce laughed, "And their bad ones."
"Some more than others." Alfred smirked a bit.
"Have a good day at the office, sir." Alfred smiled as the three people got out.
"Thank you, Alfred." Bruce nodded.
"Thank you!" Cierra and Charlie smiled and waved at Alfred.
"So, a day with Bruce Wayne begins with a little self-doubt?" Cierra asked him.
"Damian is...a difficult child. He... has some good meanings. He joined me when he was 10. Shortly after, I was kidnapped for a year. Richard had legal custody over all the kids. He still has partial custody. But because Damian has been with Richard longer, we're both still very much strangers. Even if he's my son." Bruce said.
"Richard has partial custody?" Charlie asked.
"Yes. He has the most custody of Damian. Mostly because for whatever reason, the two of them have bonded. Richard has helped Damian come a long way. The kids have a nickname for him that you might hear, 'Mother Hen.' They also jokingly call him 'Mom' sometimes." Bruce chuckled.
"How has Richard helped Damian?" Cierra asked.
"It's hard to explain. Damian was more...violent when he came to us. Richard really brought him out of his shell and rounded his edges, so to say." Bruce said.
"When Richard comes over, you'll see Damian act differently with him." Bruce said.
"Okay, since we're here, tell us about Wayne Enterprises." Cierra said.
"My dad created Wayne Enterprises to help Gotham. He helped create safer and healthier methods to what Gotham uses daily. He also donated to charity and helped others build their lives up too. And that's what I'm doing." Bruce said, sliding his card in front of an elevator.
"And now, you get to see the big boss' office." Bruce chuckled.
"Do many people get to be in there?" Cierra asked.
"Only a handful." Bruce said, holding up his card, "Special clearance on the cards."
"Don't worry, I'll get you two cards when we get up there. You'll have to give them to me after every day though. Security reasons." Bruce said.
"Security reasons?" Charlie asked.
"People try to steal the cards. I don't want any civilians coming in here and hurting themselves in the process. Lots of things in here that people can get hurt on." Bruce said.
"That is why you will both need to listen to me when we go into certain areas." Bruce explained.
"Good morning, Tracey!" Bruce smiled at the secretary as the elevator opened up on the top floor.
"Good morning, Bruce!" Tracey smiled brightly, holding out list.
"What is going on for today?" Bruce asked, looking at the list.
"First, you have to check in with Burnbore. He says that his department needs more chemicals. Although, I think we ordered more chemicals for him on Thursday of last week. Sounds suspicious to me." Tracey frowned.
"Oh, I know. He's stealing chemicals from me. I'm trying to find out why though." Bruce told her.
"Okay. Well, next is a meeting with Lucius. He also brought up Burnbore and wants to talk about the development of the new tech." Tracey informed him.
"Yes. Lucius said something to me yesterday. We've rescheduled that meeting to a lunch date today." Bruce said.
"Lunch date. Alright! After that meeting,you have another check-in with R&D. They would like to order some new equipment to help their development process." Tracey said.
"That's all for the morning part of your day." Tracey said.
"Okay, now what's for the afternoon? Also, can we get two passes for my guests?" Bruce asked.
"Yes, sir. I just need your key for it." Tracey said.
Bruce handed her a gold key that was on his keychain.
The keychain was a heart with a picture of the family together, Alfred included, and on its frame said 'Family' in big, pink, cursive letters.
Tracey used her gold key and Bruce's gold key to open her bottom left hand drawer.
She grabbed two passes that were both on their own lanyards.
"Here you go, sir." Tracey said, handing over the two passes and the gold key.
"Thank you, Tracey." Bruce said, putting the key back on his keychain.
He then put the lanyards over Cierra and Charlie's heads.
"Thank you." Cierra nodded, moving the lanyard to how she pleased.
"Well, after your lunch date, you have a meeting with Mr. Vonafay from Triad Industries. Then you have to meet with Public Relations. And finally, you have one last meeting with Mrs. Rush, just an update on the transfer." Tracey finished reading her list.
"Sounds like a loaded day." Cierra said.
"That's what happens when you're CEO." Bruce chuckled.
The three of them walked into one of the only rooms on the top floor.
"And this is my office." Bruce said as he opened the door.
"Nice." Cierra said.
Charlie panned the camera over the whole room.
On their left was a wet bar with an expensive painting over it.
On their right was a coffee table with chairs surrounding it.
There was also a giant book case by the chairs.
"Nice rug." Charlie said, looking at the rug under the chairs and table.
"Not my choice. Richard picked it out. He also put in all those chairs and that table when he was CEO." Bruce explained.
"Didn't want to change it?" Cierra asked.
"It's cozy in here now." Bruce shrugged.
"And here's where most of my day is spent." Bruce said, sitting down at his desk that already had a bunch of paperwork on it.
"Make yourselves at home. Feel free to read or get a drink." Bruce said.
"I don't drink on the job, and neither does Charlie." Cierra said.
"You might have to if you follow me to any galas or parties." Bruce said, pulling a stack of paperwork to him.
An hour later and a timer went off.
"What's that?" Cierra asked.
"It's the bell to tell me when Burnbore is here. Lets go talk to him." Bruce said, getting up.
~~~~~~~~~~~(I'm skipping the meeting)~~~~~~~~
"Knock, knock!" Lucius said, opening the door.
"Lucius! Is it lunch already?" Bruce asked, looking at his watch.
"Yes, it is. Who's picking today?" Lucius asked, referring to the restaurant.
"We're going to go to Spear's." Bruce said, picking up his suitcase.
"Love Spear's. They have some great spaghetti there." Lucius chuckled.
"I should just call you Spaghetti Man. That's all you order." Bruce said.
"It's good." Lucius shrugged, "Besides, I get tea too."
Bruce laughed.
