"Welcome to Carnivore-Shifting class........again...." Dani gave the teacher a hard look. He seemed so bored with his class nowadays. Dani wondered why the teacher was suddenly so bored with his subject. He wasn't Dani's most favourite teacher in the world, so Dani didn't really bother with him. All she did in his class was follow his orders, and didn't bother to "chat" with him. Krill, the principal, took the Herbivore-Shifting class. Dani didn't really know what krill eat, so she couldn't question his teaching choice. Still, she did find it a bit odd that the principal took a class. Kayla elbowed Dani in her side to get her focus back. Catherine wasn't with them, she was in the Herbivore class. The teacher wrote something undecipherable on the board. It sort of looked like Canis lupus. Dani had seen that word all too much in her 16-going-on-17 years of living. It was the scientific name of her other form. The wolf. "Anyone here have the form of Canis lupus?" The teacher seemed to spit, his tongue flicking out momentarily. "If you do, change now." Dani closed her eyes and then opened them again almost immediately, and out from her jaws came a growl. The teacher clapped lightly, clearly bored. "Very well, Danielle, change back." Dani did so, returning to her slightly plump, blond haired form. The teacher wrote another scientific name on the board and Dani saw Ryker's eyes light up. Haliaeetus leucocephalus. Ryker had changed, ebony wings folded beside an ebony body with a white head. A crying cry sound came out of Ryker's yellow beak. The teacher looked a bit more excited. Ryker was rarely chosen to shift in this class and he got really happy when he was chosen. His other form was magnificent, and the fact it was rarely chosen made it that much better. "Only two more today, I'm not feeling myself." The teacher wrote two scientific names on the board under Ryker and Dani's. Ryker had changed back. The names were Acinonyx jubatus and Pygocentrus nattereri. The teacher brought out a bucket of water and placed it by one student's feet. Dani didn't know his name. A growl followed by rushing footsteps sounded behind her. Kayla was making rounds around the classroom, with lightning fast cheetah-speed. The other boy had changed to, into a small gray fish with red underscales and a slightly rounded, stout face that held  dangerous teeth. It was a fish that's dangerous in groups. Piranha-boy looked straight at the teacher, as if pleading to change back. The teacher looked straight at Piranha-boy and nodded. Piranha-boy's expression grew to one of "phew" and he gratefully changed back. Dani's guess was that Piranha-boy didn't like changing into a Piranha. Piranha-boy didn't have many outstanding features about him that would make him stand out. The teacher looked relieved that he'd gotten through another lesson. Ryker came up to Dani.

"Hey Dani, Kayla," he greeted politely acknowledging Kayla's existence. Ryker's eyes were light and excitement danced in them. Dani then realized that Ryker's weren't really black but a very, very, very, dark green for they had a greenish tint. "I got to shift today," he said. Ryker acted a little, putting on a cocky smile. "Wasn't it great?"

"Yes, it was majestic," Dani said, her crush maybe playing a little into her word choice.

"O-oh? You really thought so?" Ryker asked, doing some weird twitching in the hand region. Ryker smiled while looking down. Dani was aware of Kayla observing them, but she saw nothing odd in Ryker's behaviour, except maybe the hand twitching.

"Yes.... Your animal form is really majestic," She replied and Ryker visibly blushed. Dani assumed it was from embarrassment and didn't think anything of it.

"T-thanks," Ryker stammered. He was clearly embarrassed. Dani smiled.

"No prob," she replied, winking.

"Anyway," Ryker said, embarrassment clearly dying down. "Have you considered the school play?" Dani felt her blood turn cold.

"Gah! I completely forgot!" She buried her face in her hand in embarrassment. "Sorry...." Ryker held her hand causing Dani to look up shocked.

"T-there's auditions this afternoon," he said. "Do you want to come?" Dani looked at Kayla for guidance who mouthed Do it! Dani turned back to Ryker.

"I will come," She tried to reply steadily, but anxiety was eating her alive.
