Chapter 7

"Are you Fulcrum?" Ezra asked.

"No. The Fulcrum you're looking for is in the training yard with Master Hope. I'll take you to them now" Lux replied.

The crew nodded and followed Lux into the large, wooden doors of the hall. The creatures were up the in the rafters of the building. Looking interestedly at the Ghost crew. Ezra was spinning on his heels, watching the animals.
Lux saw this and smiled.

"Interested in them Bridger?" He asked.

"Yeah. They're amazing. What are they?" Ezra asked.

"They're called Dragons. They range from many different breeds and are all Force sensitive. We haven't had one dragon born here that isn't. They all fight for Kabera's safety. The Empire and other enemy this attack this place often and the dragons protect this place. It's sacred and dragons need it."

Ezra slowed down so he was walking beside Kanan

"Can you feel it?" He asked his mentor.

"Uh huh. Ever since we landed. The Force is, very strong here" Kanan replied.

The group went through another pair of doors that lead out into a courtyard.

"So who is Fulcrum?" Sabine asked.

"The master will tell you in time" Lux replied.

"You call them 'the Master.' Why is that?" Zeb asked curiously.

"They're our main leader and we follow them. They're the one who founded Kabera and created this sanctuary for dragons."

A dragon suddenly landed in front of the group.

"Lux. We've got another shipment of dragon eggs coming in. Draconic is asking permission to dock."

"Granted. Get Blue Squadron to collect the eggs and deliver them to the moons."

"Understood" the dragon said taking off again.

"I take it Draconic is a code name for one of your allies?" Hera inquired.

"Correct Hera. We have a lot of code names and Draconic is one we use often."

"What does it mean?" Zeb asked.

"It's a word relating to dragon" Lux replied continuing to walk.

"Blue Squadron? Deliver to the moons? Will you explain to us what you mean?" Kanan asked.

"The Master will tell you everything. I promise."

Chopper warbled and Hera hit him on the dome.

"Can it Chop, don't be rude" she whispered.

The group went across the courtyard to another large building. This one was made from stone. There was a path leading up to it and the crew followed it.
Lux pulled a metal card from his pocket and slotted it through an access port next to the door way.
The light turned green and beeped. The doors hissed open and the group gazed upon the huge room. It  was more like a giant arena with no roof or seats.
Training equipment was everywhere. Metal poles were in crates ready for sparring. Targets lined the back wall for many uses. Large punching bags were hanging from metal posts and automatic guns were positioned on the walls. They reconised Hurricane who was lying down at the edge of the training ground. Beside him was a lime green, female dragon with golden spikes.
And standing in the middle of it all was two girls. One was tall, had long brown hair that was over her right shoulder and had Mandalorin armour. The other was shorter had the same coloured lox and was wearing armour on her shoulder and left arm. She had a dark blue, long sleeved shirt and grey pants. Her boots were brown and she was holding a purple lightsaber.

"Take ready poistion" the taller girl told her.

"And focus. Let the Force connect with you."

The girl's face hardened with determination. She lunged at the adult who Ezra assumed was her master.

"Swing left" the adult said and the girl did so.

"High. Middle. Low. Connect with the Force. Connect with the blade."

The girl flipped over the adult and swung again. The adult twisted round and knocked the girl off her feet as she landed. The lightsaber was knocked from her grasp and rolled across the ground. The girl sat up.

"You'll need to do better. Every mistake you make is a chance to die. Do not give your enemy that chance."

The adult helped the girl up.

"Master Fawn" Lux called.

The two girls looked over.

"Hello Lux" the older girl smiled.

"What can I help you with?"

"The rebels have arrived" Lux replied loving aside so she could get a better look at them.

"So you made it though alive? I'm impressed. Most people get killed and the remains of the ship enters the system."

"It wasn't easy" Kanan admitted.

The adult smiled at them then came over with the girl at her side.

"My name is Fawn Arrowback. This is Hope Raceborn" she said.

Hope smiled at the crew. Now that Fawn was helmetless and up close, the crew could see she was a little shorter then Kanan and had blue eyes like Ezra's.

"So you're the person who was continually saving us?" Ezra asked.

"That is correct Ezra. Come up to the Great Hall. We'll discuss everything there."

"Hurricane! Emerald! C'mon! We're going!" Hope called to the dragons.

They came over immediately.

"Huh. So they did make it" Hurricane growled.

"Woah. You're even cooler up close" Ezra said staring up at the Shadow Wing who smiled.

The dragon bent his head and got a good look at the young Jedi.

"Alright come on you lot. We'd best head back. Lux, you're relieved" Fawn said.

Lux nodded and left.

"Hope. Could you please go with Emerald and change the guard duties around?"

"Sure."

Hope whistled to Emerald who bent her head and she got on.
With a last wave from Hope, the dragon took off.

"Alright. I'm sure you all have a lot of questions to ask. I'll answer every one I can. Come with me" Fawn said.

The Ghost crew followed her from the training yard and back up the path.

"So, Hope, is she Force sensitive?" Kanan asked.

"That is correct. She has a strong connection to the Force and needs to learn how to control it" Fawn replied.

"Are you Force sensitive?" Ezra asked.

"No. But my husband did tell me about the Force. And taught Hope for a few years. But now that he's gone, I took it upon myself to train Hope. I'm not the greatest Master, but I do my best."

"How'd he die?" Sabine asked.

Fawn sighed deeply.

"It was in a battle to protect Kabera. I take it Lux explained to you how the dragons protect this place?"

"He said that dragons fight to save Kabera from harm. Does that include the moons?" Hera inquired.

"Yes it does. The moons are part of the balance here. We need them. Young dragons are raised there before coming to Kabera at the age of seven. If one of the moons were destroyed not only would it kill hundreds of creatures, it would also affect the balance of Kabera. My husband, Ben Dredindale was a Jedi Master. He was killed riding his dragon, Kyber as he tried to protect the Shadow Moon. While he did succeed, it did cost him his life. Kyber did survive but is affected emotionally by the experience. The lightsaber you saw Hope fighting with was Ben's."

They had reached the hall and went inside. A blue skinned Twe'lik approached them. Kanan heard Hera draw a breath.

"Fawn, we've got a problem. Some dragons went out scouting yesterday and haven't returned" she said.

"Which dragons were they?" Fawn asked.

"Blaze, Kameno, Skylight and Bludgeon."

"Where were they last tracked to?"

"Tatoonine" the Twe'lik replied.

"If they don't return by tomorrow, I want a squadron out there to find them."

"Yes Fawn."

The Twe'lik left the room.

"You have Twe'lik servants here?" Hera asked, trying to keep all the rage she could out of her voice.

Fawn looked at Hera in surprise.

"Servants? No. I have Twe'liks and Togrutas here. They help look after the dragons. They're my people. I do not treat them like servants or dirt. I treat them like family. They have rooms and food and everything. They used to be servants and priznors to the Empire. I busted them out and offered them to come with me. They enjoy looking after the dragons Hera. I promise they're not servants at all."

Hera nodded but still didn't look entirely convinced. They continued down the hall till they reached an open room with a large table.

"Have a seat" Fawn said motioning to the chairs round the table.

The crew did so and waited for Fawn to seat herself.

"Why are you here? I gave you the coordinates to get here and my channel so you could com me. But I didn't think you'd atcually come."

Hera and Kanan glanced at one another.

"One reason is because we wanted to meet you. You've been fighting by our side for quite a while. And when you have us information on how to reach you, it was a opportunity we couldn't pass up" Hera replied.

"That I can understand. But the reason why I couldn't talk to you was because of the Empire. I've been a wanted Rebel and rodain for years. I stated fighting the Empire about two months after it began. I saw what it did to the galaxy. What the Emperor was doing to people. I knew I had the power to do something. Hurricane and I blew up cargo bays, destroyed TIE's and more then once had to have a show down with the occasional Imperial officer. When the Empire tracked me back here, they sent out a few Star Destroyers to eliminate me. They weren't expecting over ten million dragons. None of the ships returned. The dragons dealt with it."

"With the power they have. The Empire wouldn't stand a chance" Sabine grinned.

Hurricane, who was sitting next to Fawn's chair, chuckled.

"You're right above the that" he smirked.

Fawn looked at Hera.

"I'm pretty sure I know why you're really here. Commander Sato asked for you to recruit me. Didn't he?"

"He did" Kanan confirmed.

"I'm afraid I can't. I have a purpose here. I've been rescuing you from life threatening situations when needed to. But joining you is out of the question."

"Why?" Ezra asked.

"Ezra. The dragons and Kabera need me. I'm the best warrior and dragon rider Kabera has. I'm their leader and one of their protecters. I can't leave. I'm sorry."

Suggestions are appreciated and welcome.
