Humour can be found across all genres.

It's far more common for a work of fiction to contain humorous elements as a byproduct of banter between characters, but some stories primarily seek to make you laugh. Anything funny will be considered for our Reading Lists, but not everything will be accepted. 

Your story can be fan fiction, romance, sci-fi, paranormal, horror, mystery, whatever—as long as it's funny, it will be considered for our Reading Lists.

Generally, anything disgusting, cruel or hateful will automatically be declined. Wattpad is, first and foremost, a safe place for writers and readers to interact and feel empowered to do good work.

Please read through everything carefully to ensure your story complies with all the requirements to make it into the reading list of your choice, also that you follow the correct submission guidelines.

Firstly, your story needs to comply with the following guidelines to be considered:

- Your story must adhere to Wattpad Content Guidelines. If your story contains mature content, it should be rated accordingly. If you are unsure, please refer to the content guidelines.

- All submissions must be in English.

- We accept both complete and ongoing stories. If the story is complete, please ensure it is marked as 'complete' in the story details. If the story is ongoing it must have been updated at least once a month for the past three consecutive months and must continue to be updated at least once a month to remain in the reading lists.

- We only accept the first story in a series.

- You are welcome to submit as many stories as you want. We do not limit the number of stories a writer can have in our reading list, or even in a single reading list.

- Your story must fit into one of the available reading lists featured on this profile. You will find a list of our available reading lists at the end of this chapter with a brief description of what kind of stories will best fit each one.

>> Please, always be patient after you submit your story. The review process can take up to 30 days. We cannot provide feedback on individual stories or submissions.

Tip: You can add the humor sticker to your cover and the #humor tag to your book. This will make it more identifiable to potential readers.

How to submit your story:

Also, note that a submission does not guarantee you a spot in the reading list. All submissions undergo a level of screening before a decision is made. This is to ensure our readers get quality stories for their reading pleasure.

Please be patient after a submission was made, as you can imagine the submission list is long. We do not inform every individual when their story was declined, we do not have the time or the number of hands to do so. However, the notification that your story was added to our reading list should be a dead giveaway that your story was added.
