Here's a sequel sneak peek, because hey! Why not?
"Lukas!" Kit screamed at the top of her lungs from the top of the staircase.
"What?" Lukas said from the bottom, trying not to smile.
"Aunt Isadora!" Kit called. Her Aunt came out from her bedroom, yawning.
"What is it?" She asked, stretching.
"Precisely what I asked, mother!" Lukas said, running up the stair in a flash.
"He put glitter glue in one of my shoes!" Kit complained, holding up a tennis shoe that held hardened glitter glue.
"Did not!"
"Where's my pen? I'm going to stab you so hard in the back you won't be able to move for a week!" Kit schreeched.
"Gosh, Kit!"
"You may want to-"
"Repeat that even louder-"
"I don't think the people-"
"In the city-"
"Could hear you!" Tyrone and Hope finished together, walking out of their side by side room.
"Probably not," Emma and Jacques said, coming out of their rooms on the opposite side of the hallway from the other twins.
"Would it kill you to keep it down in the morning, people? I was trying to sleep!" Bertrand grumbled, emerging from his room at the very end of the hallway.
"Oh, yes! We all know how much King Bertrand needs his beauty sleep!" Peyton called, his voice muffled through his door.
Katharine and Jessica-Mae flounced past the large group of people gathering at the edge of the stairs, Jessica-Mae only stopping to say something to Bertrand.
"Seriously, cuz. Calm down."
"It is seven in the morning, and, unlike you people, some of us actually value sleep! Besides, Sky and Eleanora are still asleep!" Lauren snapped, before heading back to bed.
<Insert random character explanation>
Klaus was the last one up, even after his two youngest nieces. He had bags under his eyes, yet he was not too tired to scowl at his oldest son. Violet noticed this and whispered,
"I heard a commotion last night. What happened?"
"Bertrand tried to sneak out again. It was something close to three in the morning, and I was up until four thirty," Klaus stopped whispering, and said over his shoulder, "Sunny? Can I get some ice water?"
"Sure," Sunny said, turning to head back into the kitchen after setting down sausage on the table.
"Vi?" Quigley asked, tapping her on the shoulder, "Where are the twins?"
"Which?" Violet asked, noticing that all four places' plates were clear and they were missing.
"Either."
"Emma and Jacques are probably in the map room. But Hope and Tyrone... Not a clue."
"I thought I saw them in the lab a little while ago," Isadora said through a mouthful of pancakes. Kit jumped up from the table, startling everyone.
"Mushroom or inventing lab?" Kit said wildly.
"Inventing."
"God help me!" Kit said, grabbing a sausage link and one of her blueberry pancakes before rushing off.
"Kit Hermione Quagmire! If I find one crumb of food on any of the equipment, especially the self heated generator, you are-" Violet called after her.
"Banned from the lab for a month! Yeah, I know! Gotta go!" Kit yelled, stomping down to the basement.
The doorbell rang.
"Who could that be?" Duncan asked, running to go open it. Everyone followed,or at least, the adults did, still haunted by the memory of Violet getting kidnapped. Duncan yanked the door open.
Five boys tumbled in: They all were the mansion's occupants assistants: Alan (Duncan's prime news reporter) Matthew (The newspaper's editor and Klaus's research partner) Tyler (Quigley's helping hand) and, on top of the dog pile were Lynn and Gabe, Victor's siblings and business transactioners. Just outside the door, standing on the wrap-around porch, were four women. Two were talking to each other, the others laughing at the boy's situation: it looked quite like a game of twister.
Brooke was Lauren's fashion designing assistant, and Amelia was a huge help in Violet's manufacturing of her inventions, and Meredith and Elliot were Eleanora's babysitters.
"I call dibs on any leftovers!" Lynn said, rushing for the kitchen
"No! I do! Have any fruit, Sunny?" Gabe said, hot on his older brother's heels.
"I want any bacon that's still on the table! Owowowow! Alan, did you really have to kick me?" Tyler complained.
Meanwhile, Alan and Matthew were trying to stop the boys from tackling a rather startled Sunny. Finally, they managed to get the boys to be quiet when Sunny promised she would give them food.
"Tyler, where's Emily?" Fiona asked, confused, noticing her fellow mycologist wasn't there.
"Sick as a dog," Tyler said dramatically.
Alan coughed. "She has a cold."
"And how would you know, Alan?" Tyler asked sassily.
"I've kinda been married to her for five years..."
"Fine! You win this round!"
The kids were still at the table. Amelia pulled Violet into a corner, beckoning Klaus and Sunny over as well.
"I think I know why your parents never told you about V.F.D." Amelia said.
"Why?" Violet asked sharply.
Most of the huge family's assistants were V.F.D. members, with only two being inactive.
"Apparently, it's tradition to tell a child born to a member of the organization about the organization at age fifteen."
And... That's when I stopped writing... Thoughts?
