Chapter 3

hI I have a test and I hope I do good on it lol- ^ I'll make a pic soon ^ (I got the highest grade in my class! A 100%! -Chloe

I awoke with a start, shot straight up, and looked around. I was in a house, a nice one, on a couch with a soft blanket and pillow.

There was a fire on one side of the room, and on the other, was a much early Christmas tree. It was adorned with many ornaments, either sparkly jewels, glimmering icicles, ( < Don't know if I spelled that write lol < ) or moments of time, captured and locked inside a frame.

I stopped looking at the tree, remembering I was in a random persons house. I turned, and saw that frog man, Pepe, I should say, talking to Taurtis. I must be in Taurtis's house! I stood up, folded the blanket nicely on the couch, and walked over to where they were standing.

"Oh! You're awake! I thought you froze!" He said, only to be interrupted by Pepe, who shouted out "I WOULD OF CALLED THE 'WEEOO WEEOO' PEOPLE BUT I FORGOT THE NUMBER AND ROLLED TO THE CLOSEST HOUSE!!!"

"Oh no, I'm fine, and it's okay! If you want to call them, just type-wait, did you say rolled?"

"Of course I did. What else would I have done?!?"

"Well, I mean, you could of-" I got a look from Taurtis, that told me to just agree and move on, so I corrected myself and said "-sorry, valid point!"

The look on Pepe's face told me that I had said the right thing.

"Weeeell, I better go now. I was very busy moving out of that hole, and into the trash can, but you've interrupted me. I will leave now." Pepe stated, did a weird squat, and walked backwards out the door, only to turn around and roll down the steps.

Taurtis and I both looked at each other and started laughing. I walked over and to the door, not wanting to overstay, but Taurtis insisted that I do.

I happily said that I was fine with that, and closed the door, so I didn't let any snow in.

His mom walked over to me, holding two cups of steaming hot chocolate, and offered one to me. I shook my head no, and said "Thank you so much, but I couldn't."

She frowned at me, and I felt bad. I didn't mean to make her feel how I felt, but I couldn't take someone else's drink, especially hot chocolate, even though it looked absolutely amazing.

At least she'd be able to enjoy it, as I shouldn't, and don't deserve such an act of kindness.

She handed the other one to Taurtis, who turned to me, grinning, and said "Cheers!", until he realised I didn't have one.

He turned to his mom, and questioned, "Why didn't you give him one?"

She looked at me for a second, as if thinking what to say, and told him, "I did, though he kindly refused. I mean, uh, maybe I added too much peppermint. In that case, I'll go make another!"

Taurtis gave me that confused/slightly concerned look once again, and I reached out and put my hand on his moms arm. "No, no, that's not why, I bet it's perfect! I'd just like, well, someone else to enjoy it!"

She looked at my hand, and I pulled it away, instantly apologising, and turned away, looking at the floor, yet again.

She turned me around, and pulled me into a sudden, but firm hug. I flinched from the sudden human contact, and she let go. She looked at me slightly confused, a now common look I've seen, and I smiled and thanked her.

Taurtis had been standing there awkwardly, until his face lit up as he though of his favourite Christmas bored game. "Grian! We should go play 'Christmas Miracle: Part Two'!!! Come on!"

He ran upstairs, but I stopped him, and since I had probably already ruined two peoples day, I didn't want to ruin another's.

"That sounds like an awfully cool game but-"

"OOH!!! TONIGHT IS CHRISTMAS EVE, SO THE GAME WILL BE PERFECT!!! MAYBE WE COULD HAVE A SLEEPOVER AND STAY UP AND FIND SANTA!!!"

"-I think I should go now, my mom and dad are probably worried, though that does sound awfully fun,"

I know I lied about the first part, but I sure didn't when I said how fun it would be. I also didn't realise that tonight was Christmas, though I probably should have, as at least a hundred presents were piling up underneath Aidens and my parents tree.

I stepped out of his house before he could convince me to stay, and walked out into the porch. Without my sweater on, it was freezing out. Why is everything soo cold? Why can't it be nice out, not the sun beating down, but not the snow piling up outside your door.

I stepped off the stairs, and sunk about two feet. This is going to be quite a bit harder than I though. Thankfully, the road was only buried with about half a foot or snow, so I sprinted to where I thought my parents house was.

After running for around 10-20 minutes, my throat started hurting like crazy. I was panting from running so much in the cold weather, which in turn, killed my throat. It hurt to breath, so I'm guessing it would hurt extremely more if I spoke or ate/swallowed something.

I finally found the grayish blue house, and walked up to the door. I stood there, debating on whether or not to ring the door bell, knock, or just come in.

I decided against the last one, as that was extremely rude, and decided to knock.

I heard footsteps run to the door, and Aiden flung it open, shouting "SANTA SANTA! IVE BENN REALLY GOOD!"

He looked down and apon realising it was just me, he gave me the most intense death glare, and threw me aside, and into the snow.

It didn't hurt, since the snow was so deep, and I just landed atop it, and stood back up.

My instant recovery made him even more mad, as he then walked over towards me, kicking the snow aside as if it was just a few small pebbles, and picked me up by the shirt collar.

I flinched, and put my arms above my head, prepared for anything to come. "You tryna ruin my Christmas, huh? That's not gonna fly, ya britch. (For those who know, yes, he didn't say britch, he said the real thing, but this kids book, so LaNgUaGe! But for those who have no idea what I'm talking about, yes, he just said britch.)

He then punched me in the stomach, which really hurt, and he dropped me, kicked me, then walked back inside, locking the door. I fell to the ground, doubling over in pain, and let the snow fall over me like an icy blanket.

I wish I could have stayed at Taurtis's house, but that would be rude, only coming there to have fun and make my life slightly better, instead of letting them have a family Christmas Eve together, happy, without me. That sounded like a better option. Better to put others first, as not doing so, would be selfish.

I mean, even though my parents, brother, and a few other people I've met, like Dom, haven't done it, it was probably for a good reason. They did the right thing. Just giving out karma.

Bad people get bad things, so it did make sense why my family was mean to me. They're just doing the right thing. Spreading karma. Whether it may be good or bad, it's what we deserve.

I stood, only to fall down again from exhaustion. I was already shivering from the cold, but the tears made it much worse. It's what I deserve. Christmas Eve, alone, in the snow, crying, not having eaten in quite some time, and shaking from the cold. How pathetic.

At least everyone else was having fun-or at least I hope, what if I ruined Taurtis's day? No, I probably made him happy by leaving. I wonder what Sam is doing for Christmas.

I wonder who that girl is. What was she doing in my dream. I wonder if she goes to  this school.

                                          I wonder...
