Chapter 5

Dear reader, I will take a moment of your time to inform you of the human ability of multiple birth.

Multiple birth is a term used for when the mother delivers two or more offspring during the same pregnancy, and in the case of triplets, having three infants at the same time.

Triplets occurs, at times, when there are already two embryos then one happens to spilt into two making them identical.

.

.
Isadora Quagmire, the youngest Quagmire triplet and a poet who writes in couplets, having raven black hair and blue sapphire eyes with, in hand at the moment, a glass of milk.

Normally Isadora would be fast asleep at the moment but being that her brother, Quigley Quagmire, was bedridden, having tumbled down a creek breaking his right leg, dislocating his left shoulder trying to get out and now has a influenza cause of the cold water.

Quigley Quagmire, the middle Quagmire triplet, looking just like his brother Duncan but with more wild and unruly hair, and well versed in cartography.

This could be worst for Isadora, she could have been having to help him relieve his.........unreachable.....itches with a toothbrush attached to a long stick now being forced to do by the eldest, Duncan Quagmire.

Duncan Quagmire, the oldest Quagmire triplet, looking just like his brother Quigley, with the can do skills of a reporter.

Just as she was passing the library she noticed voices coming to the left of the shelves of fiction. The door to the study was slighting open enough to see four shadowy figures coming from inside.

"The safest bet would be to come in though the roof while Bertrand and Beatrice go through the gala," Isadora heard her father, Matthew Quagmire say.

"As great as the idea sounds, once they see me, they'll change there objective and go after me, I was the last known individual to see Lemony before he went missing with the sugar bowl," a pretty women that Isadora didn't recognized said.

By then they took notice of her presence, standing just outside of the creaking door.

"Isadora? What are you doing up so late at night? Come now, let's get you back to bed," her mother, Angela Quagmire, said taking her hand and leading her away from the study, the last thing she heard was the women saying of how much she looked like her mother when she was a child.

.

.
Duncan Quagmire was just thinking about killing his brother with a pillow if he didn't stop complaining about his pains as he changed Quigley's bandages after have the scratching toothbrush, that once was his before...well....never mind; as long as Quigley doesn't mention it nothing would happen; fell into his leg cast.

"Can you be more gentle," Quigley said between the grunts of pain and sniffling from a stuffy nose almost in tears from the pain.

"I could," Duncan said not going a gentler then the beginning of changing the bandages.

"Duncan, You're not mad that I used your toothbrush right?"

.

.
"Mother, who was that pretty lady," Isadora said as she walked with her mother down the dimly lit hallway to the triplets room.

"She's an old friend of mine although we've not seen each other in a very long time, I believe she has children around your age." Angela said remembering her time as a young apprentice working with Beatrice and the time they traveled through the catacombs in France to deliver experimental mushrooms hidden in there shoe heel.

"Do I know the children," Isadora said trying to remember all the people she ever met but only proceeded to get a headache from not coming up with a face.

"I doubt you have, but there is no need to worry to much in thought, it's not like knowing the Baudelaires will change your life much," Angela said giggling a bit as she saw Isadora's unsure face while deep in thought.

Baudelaire, a name that brought success and happiness to there allies, but anger and fear to there enemies, although things happen that caused the Baudelaires to go into hiding, not even risking being around friends to make sure there was no danger for them. Yet now, they have shown themselves, there must be something wrong or they would not be here.
.

.
"Why are you here Bertrand, there must be something bothering," Matthew said pouring two glasses of red wine.

"Will you accept the answer of only wanting to see a good friend," Bertrand said taking the glass in hand and taking a sip.

"Like when you wanted to see me because you didn't want to become the co-director of VFD and instead left me with the position eleven years ago."

"Which your doing a fine job maintaining."

"Or three years ago when you sent a goodie basket to my house and inside a paper slip to coordinates to an old abandoned VFD warehouse containing a room of gold. You didn't want to see me then, which by the way, I still need to transfer at least 20 percent of it to you," Matthew frustrated from his friends ways of passing tasks or obligations on to him.

"Just put it in my children's trust fund until they need it, although you should know I have my reasons for doing what I do, beside your doing a better job then what I could have done."

"Im not getting an answer am I" Matthew said disappointed.

Bertrand sigh and said, "My eldest is asking questions, questions I fear I'll need to answer and I'm not sure what to say."

"Oh," Was all Matthew could manage to say not sure how to help have not have the courage to tell his own children. Trying to keep their children away from their own problems was something the Baudelaires and Quagmires had in common. Not for the purpose of keeping them oblivious to there misdeeds but to keep them safe which is all any parent could ask, although knowing well, there can only be so long before a child asks all the wrong questions.
.

.
When it comes to siblings and sharing, there comes a point of boundary.

Angela and Isadora had walked in to muffled screams of pain coming from Quigley as he was being suffocated by a pillow that was being pushed by Duncan.

"Duncan, stop killing Quigley," Isadora said almost dropping the milk, which is surprisingly still cold, while Angela pulled Duncan away from Quigley as he yelled thing that should probably not be written down.

I'll save you the trouble of reading of the next thirty minutes of Angela Quagmire and her.....unique display of parenting and tell you of after Angela gave Quigley medicine, tied Duncan to his bed, and tucking Isadora to bed, leaving them to thought.

"Hey Izzy, what happen that had mother bring you," Quigley said sniffling.

"Mother and father were talking to some people," Isadora said already getting to sleep.

"Who were they," Duncan said trying to move but got no where with his cloth restraints tied around his wrists.

"No one I recognized but there was a pretty lady, and that apparently have children around are age," Isadora said getting real tired of her brothers talking.

"How pretty?" Quigley said now trying to think of how lovely the women might look which only brought the thought of how there children look.

The question was never answered as two pillow came from two different directions to hit him.

"Oh how I wish to never hear your voice," Duncan said.

"Oh please, if I was to die you'll miss my great presence" Quigley said pridefully.

"Yeah right, we would enjoy the peace and quiet," Isadora said giggling in a joking matter then finally falls asleep.
