As we were left off in the book series, the castes were completely removed, as was the overall power of the monarchy. Unfortunately, Eadlyn's grandson - Adrienne's great- grandfather, Jacen Schreave, took a step back in time and reset all of these. Not a lot of people are still alive who were under his reign, so nobody remembers any different at this point. With that, of course comes Southern Rebel attacks on the palace.
