Chapter 6

Philby walked over to Willa's house. He and Finn had split up a little while ago. Finn had texted everyone to meet at Crazy Glaze in an hour so they could talk about Jafar. Philby was walking now that Finn was not chasing him. He arrived at Willa's house. Philby knocked and once again Ethan opened the door. "Aaaaaaaand, you're back!" he exclaimed. "Hi Ethan. I just came by because Willa wasn't at summer school today and that's just completely unlike her," Philby informed him. "We tried to talk to her but she didn't register anything we said," Ethan admitted. Then he looked at Philby with a plotting gleam in his eye. "Maybe you should try and talk to her," Ethan suggested. Philby knew that Willa's brothers were the biggest Wilby shippers there were. Well, except for the author, but she couldn't really interact with the story so Philby didn't count her. But it was worth a try. "Sure, why not?" Philby agreed. Ethan lead the way up to her room. Philby just prayed this would go alright.

Charlene just returned home from her last day of school. None of her friends went to her school so it was sheer dumb luck that her school ended the same day Finn's school did. Amanda went to the same school Finn did and Jess, Willa, and Philby all went to the same school. Maybeck went to a different school from all of them as well. However, Maybeck's school had ended before Philby's school had ended. He was probably working at Crazy Glaze right now. The rest of the group would be at Crazy Glaze in about an hour. Charlene walked into her house. Her mother was home and behind the counter in the kitchen. She was wearing sunglasses in the house. Weird. "Hi, Mom," Charlene said. Her mother slowly turned around. "Hello, dear," Mrs. Turner said. A voice in Charlene's head told her that something was wrong. She ignored it. A huge mistake. "How are you?" asked the blonde girl. "Absolutely perfectly fine," her mother responded. That was an odd response, thought Charlene. As it was, she was growing more and more aware of the nagging voice in her head that was telling her something was wrong. She suddenly wanted to get out of there. "I'm going to head over to Maybeck's. All of my friends are meeting there soon," Charlene told her. "Could you stay just a moment? I want to show you something," her mother requested, taking off her sunglasses. Something's wrong! the voice practically screamed at her. Charlene looked at her mother. She looked... different, just slightly; Charlene couldn't tell what it was. Her mother stepped out from behind the counter, with an object in her hand. It was that moment when Charlene figured out what was different. Charlene's eyes widened in terror. She turned and flew back out the front door, running as fast as she could. For Charlene had figured out what was different. Her mother had green eyes. And in her hand had been a butchers knife.

Ethan lead Philby up to Willa's room. It was unnecessary because Philby had been to Willa's house about 462 times over the course of his life, and 179 of those times, he went to her room. All for studying and working on projects. "Here you are," Ethan said. He walked away to leave them alone. Philby didn't understand why. He knew he was just going to come back and eavesdrop through the door. Philby knocked twice on the door. There was no reply. He knocked again. Nothing. He cracked the door open and peeked in. He saw Willa sitting on her bed, staring off into space. He opened the door the rest of the way. "Hey, you alright?" Philby asked, slowly stepping into the room. She looked up at him. "I- I- I'm- I'm fine," she stuttered. Philby walked the rest of the way in and sat down on her bed next to her. "Are you sure?" he asked. Willa started, "I- I just-" She broke down into tears. Philby put his hand on her arm. Willa turned, wrapped her arms around him, and began sobbing into his shoulder. Philby held her. After a while, she pulled away. "I'm sorry," she said softly, "I shouldn't have-" "It's fine," Philby cut her off. He smiled at her. It was a smile that made Willa's insides do funny things. "I- um," Willa tried to speak but failed. She blushed deeply. " Hey, you missed the first day of summer school," Philby informed her. "What?!" Willa exclaimed. "Yeah, but I got your homework for you," he told her. "You did? How? You're not even in my class. How did you get it?" she asked. Philby shrugged. "I have my ways," he told her, handing Willa her homework. "Thank you," Willa said. "We're supposed to be at Crazy Glaze in an hour," Philby informed her. "Ok," Willa acknowledged. She realized she was no longer crying. She felt better. She smiled. "So, what did I miss at school?" Willa asked. Philby gave her a sly smile. "Well, how should I know? 'We aren't even in the same class,' " he said innocently. Willa laughed, then punched him in the shoulder. "I hate you," Willa told him. "I love you too," Philby replied. Willa's eyes widened, then she blushed a bright red. He grinned at her and she stuck a tongue out at him. Philby shook his head, a smile still on his face. He put his hand on Willa's shoulder. She tilted her head so that her head was resting on his hand. They just stayed there for a while. It was wonderful.

Just a friendly reminder that while this beautiful Wilby is happening, Charlene is running from her mother who is now evil and trying to gut her with a butchers knife. So we should probably get back to that.

Charlene was running. She had no clue if her mom was behind her. She could be in Narnia for all Charlene knew. She stopped and turned. She saw no one. She realized she had run almost all the way to Maybeck's house. She took off walking. She was at Maybeck's in 5 minutes. Charlene walked in the store. The little bells on the door jingled, announcing her arrival. She saw Maybeck was sweeping. "We're closed- oh, hey Charlene, come on in," he said, finishing up. He looked at her. "Charlie, why are you crying?" Maybeck asked. Charlene hadn't realized she was. "It- It's my mom," she choked. "What about your mom?" Maybeck asked. "Well," she started. And then Charlene told him everything.

Wow!! It's been a loooong time since I've updated anything besides Daily memes. I think Tia Dalma is up next, then The Seven AU. I also have a draft I'm working on called The Goodwitch, which is kind of like a Descendants movie fanfic/Kingdom Keepers AU. It's where Ben and the VKs go back to the Isle to find the child of Glinda the Good Witch (and yes I know that aren't Disney). Would anyone be interested in reading that?

Also, thanks for sticking with this. You can have some chocolate syrup, whipped cream, soda, eggs, and donuts that are currently in my hair if you want.

Or just take some regular cookies 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
