Caroline slept most of the flight snuggled against Tim. She would look down at the ring on her finger each time she woke, making sure it wasn't all a dream. Tim noticed a few times she did this and smiled, whispering "it's not a dream, Darlin". She snuggled closer, dozing off again. Tim was thankful she was resting, the flight to the Caymans had exhausted her for days. She is much stronger now than she was then so he didn't anticipate any issues.

Once they landed back in Houston they grabbed a rental car to head to Dena's.  When they had decided to stay on the island indefinitely Tim had made arrangements to have their vehicles taken to his mom's for her and Emily to use as well as for when they came home to visit. He'd contacted the landlord and paid rent four months in advance, thinking when they came for her physical they would pack it up to move out for good.

The drive to Dena's didn't take long, little less than an hour. Tim smiled at the familiar surroundings of his hometown area. Caroline watched, knowing the decision to return was the right one. This was his home, his family and friends were here, she never intended on keeping him from any of it.

As they pulled into the driveway they could see Dena hanging sheets on the clothes line with Emily off to one side of the house. "She's always loved the smell of fresh air on the bed linens" Tim remarked as they parked the car.

After helping Caroline out of the car, they walked hand in hand around to the side of the house. Emily was wearing ear phones, dancing around, not hearing them approach. Dena caught movement in the corner of her eye and jumped a bit until she realized who it was. She walked quickly to them smiling with her arms wide open. Tim grabbed his mother in a hug, lifting her off the ground. Caroline walked up behind Emily, tapping her on the shoulder. She screamed when she turned and saw it was Caroline. They hugged each other tightly jumping up and down.

As they gathered together, all wiping a few happy tears from their eyes, Dena asked "why didn't you tell me you were coming home for a visit. We could have picked you up". Caroline and Tim looked at each other before Tim said " It's not a visit, Momma. We're home..for good"

"For real" Emily asked with excitement.

"For real squirt" he replied with a smile.

"Plus we have an announcement to make" Tim stated.

Dena smiled while Emily raised a brow at him, much like he usually does to her when he's not sure what she's going to say.

Tim took Caroline's hand, raising it slightly for them to see the ring on her finger "I said Yes" she said with a huge smile.

"Oh my God, oh my God " was all Emily could say, quickly grabbing Caroline into another hug.

Dena looked up at Tim "Nana would be happy" she told him. "Are you happy, Momma?" he asked.

"Absolutely" she replied.
