The next day after church everyone was going over to Jessica's parents house for lunch.  Danny's parents and Sarah and Evan were all going as well.

"You guys, we've discussed it with all of our kids and they've decided to let Nova break the news.  Nova, go ahead." Jessica says getting everyone's attention.

"I'm gonna be a big sister!  My Mommy's having a baby!"

"What?!  Damn, Jessica!" George says.

"You're pregnant?!" Sarah smacks Jessica on the arm.

"I am!" She laughs.

"I just thought you were chubby!  How far along are you?"

"Sixteen weeks!"

"Damn!"

"I know!"

"Jessica's pregnant?  Again?!" Alberta eyes widen.

"I'm so happy!  Another grandbaby!  It's yours, isn't it?" Dorothy asks.

"Yes, it's mine this time!" Jessica laughs.

"Aww!  I'm so happy!" Dorothy runs over and gives her a big hug.

"Thank you, mom!  Now, we have something else to tell you guys.. it's serious." Jessica sighs.
"They sent us to a specialist to have a scan done, it's pretty much like a fetal ekg."

"Oh my gosh!" Dorothy places her hand on her chest.

"The baby has a heart problem and will have surgery right after they're born.  It's been very difficult for us and we would appreciate all of your prayers."

"Of course, Jess!  Oh the poor little baby!"

"Thank you..
and I know you're all probably thinking I'm way to old to have a baby!  It wasn't planned, but I'm taking care of myself and.. hopefully everything will be okay." Jessica says with a soft smile.

"Oh age is just a number!  You're a pro at having babies, I'm sure this one will be no different!" Jane says giving her sister a hug.

18 weeks.

"Good morning, mommy!  How's the baby doing?" Nova smiled.

"The baby is doing well!  It's been kicking and wiggling around all morning!"

"Can I feel?"

"Sure!" Jessica walks over and Nova places her hand on her stomach.

"You've gotta press your hand down." Jessica says pressing her hand into her belly.

"Ah No!  What if I squish it?!" Nova quickly moves her hand.

"You won't squish it!" Jessica laughs.

Nova then places her hand back on her belly and says, "I think I felt a little kick."

"The baby's still small but soon you'll be able to feel it!"

"Good!  Oh and mommy, I'm not going to school today."

"Um, excuse me little miss?  Yes you are!"

"I wanna go with you and daddy to the doctor!"

"No baby, you have to go to school, silly!"

"Awe man!"

"Sorry!" Jessica laughs.

After dropping the kids off at school Danny and Jessica went to the doctor for a scan.

The baby looked healthy, but Jessica's blood pressure was still high.  The doctor put her on a diet and wrote out a daily exercise routine.

"You want HER... JESSICA.. to exercise while pregnant?" Danny asks.

"Oh shut up, Daniel!  I can do it!" Jessica smacks his arm.

"The only exercise Jessica gets while pregnant is when she walks down stairs for food, and.. well that's it."

"Stop being mean to me!" Jessica says in a whinny voice.

"Just saying, honey!" He chuckles.

"If it'll help with my blood pressure, then I'll do it!"

Later that day the family was coming over to find out the gender of the baby. To make it fun for the kids they decided to use fireworks. As of right now Evan is the only one that knows the gender, he will be the one in charge of the fireworks.

"Gigi, we're gonna have fire?" Samuel asked Jessica.

"They're fireworks, baby. Like at New Years, remember?"

"Oh yeah, that was so cool!"

"Yeah! That's why grandpa and I wanted to find out that way. So you kiddos could see something cool!"

"Awesome!"

Jessica laughs as Samuel runs away to play with Nova.

"Lita!" Enrique shouted for Jessica. He's been trying to say Abuelita but for now he now says Lita for short.

"Yes, my love?"

"Where da baba?"

"It's not here yet, silly boy!"

"No baba yet?" He looks at her and tilts his head.

"No baba yet! It's still in my tummy."

"Oh no!" His eyes widen.

Jessica laughs and crouches down to give him a kiss.
"Muah! I love you, handsome."

"I luh yew more, Lita!" He says wrapping his arms around her neck.

Jessica laughs and pats his bottom.

"Kish da baba!" Enrique grabs her belly and kisses it.

"Oh such a sweet nephew!" She laughs.

"Hi baba!" He shouts with his face against her stomach.

"They're wiggling around in there!  The baby's saying hi!" Jessica smiles.

"Yeah!" He looks up and smiles cutely.  Jessica then giggles and kisses his nose.

Soon it was time for the reveal.
Danny, Jessica and all of the kids stood outside all bundled up and ready for the pink or blue fire works.

"Quick!  What does everyone think it is?" Danny asks.

"I think it's a girl!" Jessica says.

"Me too." Danny agrees.

"I want a boy! But a girl would be cool too!" Nova smiles sweetly.

"BOY! BOY! BOY! BOY!" Samuel cheers.

"What? A girl, Sammy?" Jessica chuckles.

"No way! I want a boy!" He says making them laugh.

"Well let's find out!" Danny smiles and looks up at the sky as he wraps his arm around Jessica.

Suddenly everyone started screaming. Jessica sobbed as Danny brought her into his chest for a hug. "YES! IT'S A BOY!" He shouted.

Jessica looked up and chuckled before he kissed her lips. "A baby boy, Jess!"

"I'm so happy to have another little mama's boy!"

"I'm gonna have a baby brother!" Grayson shouted with excitement.

"And I am too!" Nova jumped up. "I get to stay the ONLY PRINCESS!!"

"Haha!  That's why you wanted a boy, huh, baby?" Jessica smiles.

"Yeah!  We're gonna have a little prince, guys!"

"A BOY!  YES!" Samuel jumps.

Danny grabs the sides of Jessica's belly and kisses the center of it. "I can't wait to meet you, baby boy!"

"Aw!" Jessica smiles and runs her hand on the back of his head.

"Still kinda strange that mom and Danny are having another baby.. starting all over at Their age!" James says to Sam.

Jessica overheard and said, "I can hear you!  Could you at least try to act happy about your little brother?"

"We are happy, Ma!  But we worry about you." Sam says.

"I'm fine!"

"Okay!  Then good." He smiles.

Jessica rolled her eyes and continued celebrating her baby boy.

February 4th.
20 weeks pregnant.

"I swear, this boy is sitting right on my bladder!  I've been pregnant many times before, but I have never peed this much!  It's insane!"

"Well maybe because you drank us out of water!" Danny chuckles.

"I know!  I don't know what it is, but I can't get enough to drink!"

"The baby's thirsty!" Danny smiles softly and rubs the top of her belly as Jessica sits on the couch beside him.

"It's crazy!" She chuckles.

A while later it was time for Jessica's checkup.
"Mr. and Mrs. Huston, I've never offered this before, but if you'd like we can run a test to check for any signs of down syndrome, or-"

"No.  It's fine.  Even if it shows that he has downs syndrome, that won't matter to us.  He's our baby and we'll love him no matter what."

"Okay!  Just asking." The doctor smiled.

After her routine tests, the doctor came back with a more serious look on his face.

"Is everything alright?" Jessica asked.

"Mrs. Huston, I went over your results and it's showing that you have gestational diabetes."

Jessica was shocked. "But I've been eating right!  I did everything you said!"

"I know, and you shouldn't feel bad about this, we-"

"How?!  Everything is my fault!" Jessica sat there and broke down in front of the doctor.
Danny sat beside her and wrapped his arm around her.

"Baby, don't cry.. this wasn't your fault!"

"I just want my baby boy to be okay.. I want him to be safe." She cries.

"And he will, Mrs. Huston!  We will take good care of you and your baby.  Everything will be fine."

"What if I get preeclampsia?  What if I deliver early?  What if he doesn't.. Oh Gosh!" Jessica then cries harder and buries her face in Danny's chest.

Danny asked the doctor to give them a few minutes.  He then held Jessica in his arms and tried to calm her down.

"Hey, hey, hey.. it's gonna be okay, honey."

"Danny, I've tried!  I've tried so hard and I feel that it's not enough!  I feel like I can't keep him safe!"

"Honey, you are keeping him safe.  We have the best doctor, and everything will be okay.  I know it will."

Danny lays his head on hers and rubs his hand up and down her back.
