A few days later.

Jessica spent the day moving around, cleaning and organizing the baby's things trying to get things going. So far nothing was working. The baby was showing no sighs of coming.

Jessica was currently in his room putting away his little clothes when she stopped and took a deep breath before speaking to her son.

"Jonas, mommy wants to meet you already. Don't you want to meet me?" Jessica looks down and places her hand on her belly.

The baby punches his mother's hand making a smile appear on her face.

"That was a big kick, mister!"

Jonas then rolls his little body around making Jessica's stomach look odd shaped.

"Oh my gosh!" She laughs.

Danny was walking by at the time so he went in to see what was going on.

"Who are you talking to, baby?"

"Jonas. Look at this boy!"

"Oh wow!" Danny chuckles.

"Come sit on your chair, let's talk to him."

Jessica sits down and her growing belly sticks up.

"Hey buddy! You gonna come out soon? Daddy wants to hold you, little man."

Jessica chuckles at the baby's movements then winces in pain.

Danny pokes her belly and says, "Is this his back? Where's his head?"

"I think his head is down here." Jessica presses into the bottom of her stomach.

"Oh.. Look at him, he's like falling off your side! Get back over, mister." Danny chuckles and pushes him over to the center.

"Oww.." Jessica whimpers.

"I'm sorry!"

"It's okay, it just hurts a little.. it's weird how in a few days this will be gone forever."

"Yep.. no more belly."

"It's weird.. but exciting." Jessica chuckles softly. "I finally get my body back after twenty eight years of having babies!  Damn.  Twenty eight years!"

"That's crazy!  You're old!" Danny teases her.

"Hey!" Jessica smirks and hits his arm.

"I'm kidding!  You're only like ten years older than the twins." He laughs.

"Fourteen!
..Ass."

Danny laughs and kisses her cheek.

"I'm just playing with you, honey."

"...It's weird that this part of my life is ending.  I've spent most of my life creating little miracles.  I was a baby when I started having babies!"

"You were.
..Just a perfect little mommy right from the start." Danny says sitting beside her.

Jessica gave him a soft smile then rest her head on his chest.

"We were way too young.. but we made it work somehow.. you know, Sam and I were only three years older than Grayson is now when I had the twins."

"Woah!  That's crazy!"

"I know.. we weren't bad kids, you know.. We just loved each other.  It wasn't right, but I don't regret it.  I got to spend extra time with the first love of my life, and the boys got to spend a lot more time with their father then they would have if we had them when we were older.. it all worked out."

Danny kissed the top of Jessica's head as she cuddled into him.

"Honey?" She speaks in a low voice.

"Mhm?"

"Do you think Jonas is scared?"

"Scared?  Scared of what?"

"His surgery.  Babies can hear and understand every word that we say.  Maybe that's why he doesn't want to come out."

"Honey, that's silly.  He's just so cozy in there and doesn't want to leave the comfort of his mommy." Danny says rubbing his hand on her belly.

"Maybe.."

Danny kisses the center of her tummy, then sits back.

"Daddy?  Daddy, where are you?" They suddenly hear Nova call for him from the hall.

"I'm in here, Novies!"

"Oh!  What are you doing relaxing?  Me and Grayson are going with you to see the baby!"

"We still have about twenty minutes till we leave, hun."

"Okay.. So!  What are we doing?" She smiles.

"Oh I don't know maybe-TICKLE FIGHT!" Danny shouts grabbing her, pinning her down and tickling her.

"Daddy!" She laughs hysterically.

Just then Grayson walks in.

"Hey momma!" He smiles.

"Grayson, my boy.  What are you up to, honey?"

"I just finished cleaning my room."

"You're such a good boy!"

Grayson smiles and Jessica's eyes tear up.  It was like looking at a young version of Sam.

"You look so much like your daddy.  You're so handsome!" Jessica reaches up and places her palm on the back of his head.

Grayson smiles and bend forward to kiss her forehead.

"I love you, Gray."

"I love you more, momma."

Later on that day the four drove to Alyssa's parents to pick up Enrique. Since they were going to the hospital, they were going to drop him off with Zachary and Alyssa.  Alyssa was sent home weeks ago, but spends every possible moment at the hospital with the baby.

While Jessica was being checked by her doctor, Grayson watched Nova in the play area near by.  Enrique stayed with his grandparents.

"He's head down which is very good! Have you have any pressure or pelvic pain?"

"A little bit, but nothing major."

"Okay. Let me just check your cervix, and we can call the kids in to show them their baby brother."

Jessica lifts her legs onto the stirrups so her doctor can check her.

"Lita!" Enrique shouts.

"Lita's okay, honey." Jessica smiles. "Well she might be.  It depends on what the doctor has to say.
..What do you say?  Am I okay?" Jessica chuckles.

He takes a deep breath and Jessica already knows exactly what he's going to say.

"Ughh!"

"I know, and I'm so sorry.  BUT!  Since you're now past your due date, I'm. Not going to make you stay pregnant any longer than you have to."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, we can induce you on Monday."

"Induce? *Sighs* Well I don't know.."

"Honey, That means he'll be here on Monday!  That would be amazing!" Danny smiles.

"I want him to come naturally.  When he's ready to come.  I don't want to force him if he's not ready."

"Jessica, this would be best for the both of you.  Your blood pressure was a little high today and if it continues then both you and the baby will be in danger.  He's a good size, I say he's more than ready to come out.  He's just being a little lazy so we'll have to help him out a little." He chuckles.

"Okay.. then I guess we're having a baby on Monday!" Jessica laughs nervously.

"Yeah!" Danny smiles. "I'm so excited!  Kikè, your uncle's coming!" He says making Jessica laugh.

Once all of that was out of the way, the kids came in for the fun part.  To see their little brother.

"Woooaahhhh!  He's so cute!" Nova says staring at the screen.

"He looks like dad!" Grayson chuckles.

"Quite the handsome fella, isn't he?" Danny smirks.

Jessica laughs then turns back to the screen.

"Baba!"  Enrique points to Jessica's belly.

"Yeah, that's baba on the screen!"

"No baba!"

"Yes it is!" Jessica laughs.

"No!" He nods. "Cucuy!"

"What?" Danny laughs.

"It's like the mexican boogeyman." Jessica says. "That's not the cucuy! That's Lita's baby!"

Enrique looks at her with a blank face and his mouth slightly hung open. He froze for a moment before hitting his chest.

"No I baba! I Lita baba!"

"Yes, you're Lita's baba too." Jessica chuckles.

After her appointment was over, they walked over to the other side of the hospital.  Danny stayed with the kids in the waiting room while Jessica took Enrique down the hall to his parents.

"We going?" Enrique lifts his hand as his other is holding Jessica's.

"We're going to see mommy and daddy."

"Yay, yay, yay, yay!" He gallops.

Jessica giggles, then looks up and right outside of the NICU she spots Zachary and Alyssa.
She smiled then quickly began to panic when she saw Alyssa crying and Zachary comforting her.

"Mama! Dada!" Enrique broke free and ran to them.

"Guys? What's going on?" Jessica asks running as best she could over to find out what was wrong.

Alyssa gets down to the ground and holds her son in her arms as she sobs.

"It K, mama!  It K!" Enrique pats her softly.

"Zachary, what is it? Is she okay?"

"Come here." He gently pulls her to the side.

"What happened?"

Zachary sighs. "We're running out of options."

"What?"

"She still isn't breathing on her on. She's back down a pound.. were in the same place we were in a month ago, ma. She's just too tiny.. she wasn't ready." Zachary looks into his mother's eyes and cries.

"Oh honey!" Jessica pulls him towards her and holds him in her arms.

"Baby boy.."

"We have to make a decision soon, mom.. we're not ready to make it. We can't make it!" He says letting out a sob.

"Baby, I know this is hard, and I am so sorry you're having to go through this. We have to keep praying. We can't give up on her!"

"I'm beginning to think God isn't listening."

"Zach-"

"How can he let a little innocent baby go through this?"

"Zachary, sometimes these things just happen.. I don't know why but, they do. We have to keep fighting! Don't let her go, baby."

"Would you like to see her?"

Jessica's bottom lips quivers and she quickly turns it into a soft smile.

"Yes, of course!" She nods.

Zachary nodded and took her hand.

"I'm gonna take my mom in." He tells Alyssa who still sat on the ground lightly rocking Enrique in her arms.

Jessica got washed up and ready to see her granddaughter for the first time since birth.

"Oh look at her.. she's so beautiful, Zachary."

"She is, isn't she?"

"Yeah.. that Huston blood is strong. I see so much of you in her."

"Thanks." Zachary smiles softly.

A nurse soon came by and took the baby out so Jessica could hold her.

"Oh she's so precious." Jessica said softly rubbing her tiny leg as she laid on her chest.

"Valerie, you are the sweetest little baby." Jessica's voice was low and shaky.

"Everyone loves you and wants you to come home.. you need to get better so can finally meet your big brother.. I know you two are gonna be best friends." Jessica says breaking down in tears.

"Gigi loves you so much, baby girl." She kisses the top of her head and softly sways.

Just then she feels a tightening in her stomach, followed by an intense cramp in her lower abdomen.

She takes a sharp breath in and continues swaying the baby.

"You okay?" Zachary asks.

"Yeah, just a cramp."

"How did your appointment go today?  What did your doctor say?"

"Well I'm not dilated at all so uh.. they're inducing me on Monday."

"Oh my gosh!  Really?"

"Yeah."

"Cool!  My little brother will be here so soon!" He smiles.

"Yeah.."

"What's wrong?"

"I'm just nervous."

"Don't worry.  He'll be okay." Zachary rubs her mother's back and kisses the top of her head.

Jessica bites her bottom lip and nods her head.

Sunday evening.

"The bags are packed in the car, George is taking the two kids and the pups in the morning.  The baby's car seat is installed.  I think we're all set for tomorrow, mama."

"He won't be coming home with us, Danny. You know that."

"I know but I still want to have it installed.
..You okay?"

Jessica takes a deep breath. "No." She nods.

"Honey, what's wrong?" Danny walks over to sit beside her in the bed.

"I've had many many births, but I am not ready for this one.  At all!"

"Baby girl, the doctor said he's looking great.  We'll even get to hold him before they take him to the NICU."

"I'm so scared.  Then I have two weeks to think about his surgery before it actually happens.  I'm not afraid of the pain, I'm afraid of something happening to my little boy."

"Everything is going to be alright." Danny said taking her hand and kissing the back of it.

The truth is, Danny was terrified.  He was extremely worried for his son, but he wasn't going to let Jessica see that he was.  He wanted to make her feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

That night Jessica tried to get a good nights rest.  She knew she would need all of her energy for tomorrow when she brought her baby boy into the world.

The next morning.

"Bye mommy!  Have my baby brother as quick as you can!" Nova says.

"I'll try, baby girl." Jessica smiles.

Nova hugs her belly and kisses it.

"I love you baby brother.  I can't wait to meet you!" Gabriella let's out the most adorable giggle and says, "He's kicking me!  He moves so much, mommy!"

"He does, doesn't he love bug?"

"Yep!  Bye bye!"

"Bye, princess." Jessica chuckles and kisses her cheek.

"Bye, Grayson.  Help your aunt and uncle with your sister and the dogs, okay?"

"Yes ma'am." He smiles.

"Come here, baby boy!" Jessica hugs him tightly.

Grayson rubs her belly and kisses it. "I'll see you soon, Jonas.  Stay strong, baby brother."

Jessica smiles as tears fill her eyes.

"You'll still be my baby boy, you know that, right?"

"Yes, momma." He chuckles.

Jessica smiles then turns to George. "Thanks for taking the kids, George."

"No problem, Jess.  Do good." He smiles.

"Thanks." Jessica laughs.

The kids leave with their uncle, and Danny and Jessica head to the hospital.

"Ready mommy?" Danny grabs her hand.

Jessica takes a deep breath. "I'm ready, daddy."

"I love it when you call me that.  Hey, you think we have time to.. you know?" Danny smirks and motions towards the upstairs.

"Heh!  Too late, mister!"

"Dammit!  Alright, well let's go meet our boy."

Jessica smiles as Danny leans forward and kisses her forehead. "Yep.. let's meet our boy."
