40 weeks.

"Mommy, I want my baby boy out Now!" Nova points her finger and stomps her foot.

"Honey, he's gonna come out when he's ready."

"What's he waiting for?" She lifts her hands.

"You know, I don't really know. Maybe he just wants more time with his Gigi." She smiles and pats her belly.

"No you're mommy!"

"I'm your mommy but his Gigi!"

"NO you're Mommy!" Nova snaps.

"Okay, Love bug. I'm Mommy." She chuckles with exhaustion.

"Where my daddy at?"

"Daddy is at work."

"Why yours not at work?"

"I'm too pregnant to work! Why? Do you want me to leave?"

"Yeah, I wanna go to gwamma and gwandpa's!"

"Well Excuse me!"

"Where Gwayson?" Nova lifts her hands.

"He's on his way home. He spent the night at his grandma's, remember?"

"Nana Jane?"

"Yep!"

"Why I not going too?"

"Well I didn't know you wanted to go. You can see her when she drops brother off."

"Okay! Hey mama?"

"What, baby?"

"Where's Sam Sam?"

"He's upstairs with his parents."

"Okay. Mama?"

"What, Nova Bella!"

"You gonna make me some food? I need to feed my little body!" She says in a cute voice as she holds her little belly.

"Yes, I'm so sorry baby. What would you like in your tum tum?"

"Um.. I like Biscuits and toast and.. some eggs, and maybe some coffee."

"Coffee?! You're three!"

"Almost four!"

"Almost four! I'm so sorry." She chuckles.

"Almost four! My little baby!" Jessica says in a sad baby voice.

"No I big girl!"

"No!" Jessica pouts.

"You're my little baby!"

"No that's your little baby!" Nova points to Jessica's belly.

"Now I have my coffee please?"

"No ma'am, you're too young for coffee."

"No I big!"

"Nova."

"I big! I big!"

"Nova Bella, do you want me to call daddy and tell him you're not listening to mommy?"

"No! Don't tell him! Don't tell him!"

"Okay then no talking back, please."

Just then Sam, Tiffany and Samuel come downstairs.

"Get out of the kitchen Jessie! I've got it, you rest!"

"It's okay, honey."

"You need your rest, Jessica!"

"Okay.. Thank you, sweetie."

"Gigi, pick me up!" Samuel jumps.

"Sam, don't ask Gigi to pick you up."

"Why?!"

"I'm okay, I can still hold my baby!" Jessica smiles and picks him up.

"Gigi, I had a dream you had the baby then didn't love me!" He pouts.

"Aw Sammy, you know that would Never happen!"

"It made me so sad.."

"Oh don't be sad, baby boy!"

"Okay." Samuel says laying his head on her shoulder

Jessica then walks over and sits on the couch.

"Ouch!" She says letting out a deep breath.

"Are you okay, Gigi?"

"Yeah baby, I'm okay."

"Is Ricky kicking?"

The kids have gotten used to calling him Enrique or Ricky since they have heard Jessica call him that so many times.

"He is, do you want to feel him?"

"I don't know, he kicked my hand so hard the last time!" Samuel pouts.

"Oh no! Did he hurt the baby!"

Samuel pouts and nods his head.

"Aw! You guys, Samuel is being unusually weepy today. Tiffany, are you pregnant?" Jessica asks.

"Hell no!" She answers making Jessica laugh.

"They've both been a little different. Samuel is weeping and acting more like a baby, while Nova just thinks she's grown." Sam says.

"I know! I think she's taking on a big sister roll. I worry about her when he comes. She doesn't understand what's going to happen. Danny and I try to tell her but.. she says I'm not his Gigi, I'm his mommy. She thinks she's his sister and not aunt.. it's going to be extremely difficult!"

"Poor babe." Sam looks over at Nova playing.

"Hi Samuel! You wanna play with me?" She smiles.

"I would love to, Nova!"

Jessica chuckles then scrunches her face.
"Ooh.. Ouch."

"What's hurt, Gigi?"

"Your little cousin's foot is jammed in my ribs."

"Owie! I can kiss it for you!"

Samuel leans forward and kisses his a grandmother's belly.

"Oh thank you so much. Sweet boy!"

"Sure! Oh silly baby! He kicked my face!" He laughs.

"That silly boy!"

Sam places his hands on her belly and gets a huge smile on his face. He then lays his ear on her stomach and wraps his arms around her bump.

"So comfy, grandma!"

"Thanks, sweets." She chuckles.

"I called you grandma, not Gigi! You mad, Gigi?" He looks up and smirks.

"Oh it's okay! I guess that's what I am.. an old grandmother!"

"You're a young Gigi! So young and so pretty Gigi!"

"Oh my gosh that's so sweet! Thank you, handsome boy!"

"You're welcome!" He smiles.

As soon as breakfast was ready Grayson and Jane showed up.

"Hi baby!  Did you have a good time with grandma?"

"I did!  Uncle Ross and his kids came by for dinner last night.  It was so much fun!"

"Aw I'm glad!  Hello Jane, how are you?" Jessica says trying to get up.

"No sweetie, you stay!  I'm great, but more importantly, how are you?"

"Oh I'm okay!" Jessica smiles.

"Yeah?  Grayson was telling me it's getting close!"

"Today's my due date." She chuckles.

"Oh wow!  Aw, well hopefully he'll be here soon." She says placing her hand on her stomach.

"Yeah.." Jessica smiles softly and looks down and her belly as she caresses it softly.

"I think what you're doing is so amazing, Jessica."

"Thank you.." Jessica spoke in a low voice.

Just as Jessica was staring to become emotional Nova ran over to Jane.

"Hey!  Nana Jane, it's me, Nova!"

"Well hello beautiful!" Jane picks her up and kisses her check.

Jane was just as close to Nova and Zachary as she was to her own grandchildren.

"Did you see my mommy?  The baby's gonna come out soon!"

"I see that!  Your mommy is pretty amazing, isn't she?"

Nova smiles and nods her head.
She then leans forward and reaches for Jessica.

"My baby girl."

Jessica places her on her lap and Nova cuddles into her belly.

"She's precious!" Jane says.

Jessica smiles softly.

"Nana Jane, look!" Nova says picking Jessica's pajama top.

"Nova, stop it."

"No mommy!  Let me show her!" Nova snaps making Jane laugh.

"Look!" She pokes Jessica's now outie belly button.

"This is where my baby boy is gonna come out!  In Mommy's belly button!"

"Oh is that what happens?  I'm had no idea that's what went on!" Jessica chuckles making her belly bounce.

"Yeah, that's what happens!
Oh my gosh, mama! Your belly's jiggling cause the baby's laughing with you!"

"He's laughing?"

"Yeah he thinks you're funny, mommy!"

"Aw what a sweet boy!" She smiles.

Two days later.

Jessica is feeling major uncomfortable but is still feeling blessed to be able to be carrying around her grandson for as long as possible.

Jessica woke up and went to the bathroom to use the restroom. When she went to empty her bladder she looked down to her big round belly and saw the rough kicks of her grandson.

Jessica smiled softly as she rubbed her hands over her bump.

"My Sweet little boy.. Gigi has had so much fun with you these last nine months.. I really don't want you to leave!
.. but I understand that you have to go and live with your mommy and daddy. Not every grandmother gets this amazing opportunity that I had.. and I'm so blessed to have been able to do this and to share this special bond with you.
.... We may never be blood but you lived in me! That should automatically make me your favorite grandparent!" Tears fill Jessica's eyes and she continues.
"I knew this day way coming but.. it doesn't make it any easier.. I love you so much, baby boy. Gigi loves you with all her heart.
You can stay over whenever you want, okay?" She says as tears fall from her face into her swollen tummy.

"Jessica? You alright baby?" Danny knocks lightly on the door.

Jessica sniffles and quickly wipes her tears.

"Yeah, I'm alright. I just uh.. I couldn't get up but now.. I um.. Now I'm up!"

"Okay.. well I'm leaving to work and I want a kiss."

"Alright, I'm coming."

Jessica quickly washes her hands then opens the door.

Danny smiles then kisses her lips.

"You okay? Why do you look so upset?"

"I'm just tired, that's all."

"Is the little chimichanga making Gigi exhausted already?" Danny holds her belly.

Jessica smiles softly and looks down.

"I'm sorry you're not feeling well. But he'll be here so so soon!"

"Yeah.."

"I don't want to leave you all mopey."

"I'm okay, baby. I just need to shower and I'll feel better."

"Okay. Well I'll call you and check in on you guys."

"Okay." She smiles.

Danny kisses her lips then bends down and kisses her tummy.

"Bye baby!"

"He's kicking so much! You love your grandpa, don't you, little baba!"

Jessica smiles but doesn't speak.
Danny could tell she was absolutely exhausted and felt terrible leaving her. Unfortunately he didn't have a choice. He couldn't take off until Jessica was actually in labor having the baby.

Jessica took a shower then made breakfast for the kids before taking Grayson to school.

"I'm getting too big for this van!" Jessica groans as she gets in.

"I told you to let me ride with my friend, momma." Grayson says.

"No honey, it's okay. I told your daddy to adjust my seat because I can't do it, but did he listen?"

"No?"

"No he did not!"

Grayson chuckles then turns to Nova in her car seat.

"Whatcha doin' sissy?" He asks.

"I don't wanna sit in the car seat! I'm a big girl!"

"Novies, you have to sit in that, you're still a little person."

"No I not! I'm gonna be four!"

"Well you have to stay in it. Now don't act up, okay? You don't want to upset mommy, do you?"

"No but-"

"Then behave, Lovebug."

"Okay.." She looks at her older brother with cute innocent eyes.

"You're so pretty, Nova!"

"Thanks, brother.."

Grayson chuckles then kisses her forehead.

"Novies, in just a few months you and Samuel will get to go to school too!"

"No! I wanna stay with mama and the baby!"

"Nova, they baby is going with his mommy and daddy, remember?"

"I no want to go to school! I just a baby!"

"Oh so now you're a baby?" He chuckles.

"Yeah! I'm gonna stay with mommy and not go to school!"

"Well you have to."

"NOO!"

"Gray, it's okay. We'll worry about that when the time comes."

"Okay." Grayson shrugs.

After dropping Grayson off Nova threw a huge tantrum.

"MOMMY I WANNA STAY WITH YOU! I'M NOT GONNA GO TO SCHOOL!"

"Nova, calm down! It's not happening now."

"I don't want it to happen Ever!" She sobs loudly.

"Oh Nova Bella! What's up with you lately?"

"I WANNA GO HOME!"

"Well mommy needs a sweet tea from Chick Fil A."

"I want ice cweam!"

"Not with this tantrum you're throwing."

"Mommy PLEASE!"

"No ice cream in the car."

"I eat it when we get home!"

"Nova-"

"PLEASE!"

"Jesus Christ, fine!"

Nova coughs then catches her breath.

"Thanks."

"Heh! You're welcome.. Brat." Jessica says that last part under her breath.

"You need to buy some for Samuel too!"

"He has to ask his parents first."

"I'll talk to my brother! He'll say yes!"

"Okay." Jessica sighs.

Jessica unbuckles her seatbelt and struggles to get out.

"Mommy, my ice cweam is gonna melt!"

"Hang on, Nova."

Jessica suddenly got a sharp pain in her lower stomach. She took deep breaths and placed one hand on her back with the other on the van as she leaned forward.

"Mommy!"

"Nova, Wait!" Jessica snaps.

"I wanna get out! My ice cweam!"

Jessica sighs and quickly opens her door mid contraction.
She unbuckles her from the car seat and takes her out.

"Ooh Owww.." Jessica holds her side and leans forward as she moans.

"My ice cweam!" Nova screams.

Jessica grabs her cup of ice cream and hands it to her. She then grabs her things and heads inside.

"We got ice cweam!" Nova says with a completely different attitude.

"Ice cream? Yummy!"

"Sam, it's not for you! Can my Sam Sam have some? I got it just for him!"

"Well way to treat your favorite brother!"

"You not my favorite brother! Gwayson is!"

"What?! What you little midget?!" Sam lifts her up in the air.

"Ahh! Sam, my ice cweam!"

Jessica locks the door then walks to the couch.

"Sam, it's you're day off, help mommy out and take care of your sister."

"Is she bugging you?"

"I'm just so tired and she's in a mood. I feel bad but it's so hard to be patient right now."

"I can watch her for a few hours. You go rest."

"Thank you, baby."

"Samuel! I bought you some ice cweam, baby boy!" Nova says in a baby voice making Sam laugh.

"I love it when she goes into auntie mode."

"I know, she's sweet.. but the tantrums she threw in the car were not!"

Sam chuckles.
"Go rest, momma."

"Alright, baby boy. Thank you."

When it came time to pick up Grayson she took Nova along so they could stop and get something to eat. Jessica was not in the mood to cook so she told Danny to just pick himself something up after work.

"What do you kiddos want?" She asked them.

"McDonald's!" They both shout from the back.

"Guys! Are you sure?"

"Yes!"

"Well alright. At least you're not fighting. McDonald's it is." She sighs.

"Mommy, we done eating, can we go play?"

"Sure. Make sure your sister doesn't get hurt, Gray."

"I will."

"Thank you, handsome."

Jessica sat back and took a few pictures of the kids on her phone and sent them to Danny.
She then sat her phone down and placed her hands on her stomach.

Watching her children play together with so much excitement made her so happy.
Lately Jessica hasn't been her usual happy self.
As the time of her grandson's arrival came closer and closer Jessica fell deeper and deeper into a hole of sadness. She was obviously more than happy to be doing this for her son, but was very much dreading not being there through every single moment of this little boy's day.

April 14th.

Jessica was scheduled to have her last ultrasound just to make sure the baby's position is still perfect for birth.
The two youngest kids were tagging along as well.

"Mom, we're not gonna see any of um.. your area, are we? Like the baby chute area?"

"No, Grayson! It's just an ultrasound." Jessica laughs.

"Oh! Thank God!"

"Haha! You've always called it the baby chute, haven't you?"

"It's way better than the real name for it, momma."

Jessica laughs and messes with his hair as Nova interrupts.

"I'm going to see the baby today!" She shouts.

"Yes you are, baby!" Jessica smiles.

"I so excited!"

"I'm so happy for you, Princess!" Jessica giggles.

The kids, Zachary, Alyssa and Danny all stood around waiting to see the baby on the screen.
It was going to be a little difficult since he's dropped, but nonetheless they were all excited.
They were hoping he had dropped head down. If not, a c-section or more difficult delivery was in her near future.

Jessica lifted her shirt and Nova giggled.

"That's my mama's big tummy! That's mama's baby! Zach, pick me up! Pick me up!"

Zachary lifts her up and she insists on kissing the baby.

"Muah! I love you baby boy!" She says cutely.

Jessica smiles at Nova's sweetness.

The ultrasound tech starts the scan and Nova claps.

"That's my boy! He's my baby boy!"

"That's his foot!" Grayson chuckles and points to the screen.

"He has a cute foot!" Nova smiles.

"I can tell someone is ready for her new little nephew to arrive!" The tech smiles.

"He's coming out today?"

"Not today, babe." Danny rubs Nova's back.

"Get him out NOW!
.. Please?" She gives the woman performing the ultrasound an adorable pout.

"Oh she's a cutie! She must get away with a lot!"

"Oh yes! Especially with daddy, huh, Lovebug?" Danny says.

"Yeah cause I'm the princess!"

"Yes you are!" He chuckles and takes her from Zachary.

She then cuddles into Danny.

"Oh gosh, she is TOO cute!"

"Yeah I am, and my daddy says I look like my mommy!"

"You do look like your mommy!" The woman chuckles.

April 18th.

Jessica is now one week passed her due date. Later on in the afternoon she has a doctors appointment to check on the baby.

Everyone was over at the house that day. The boys made their mother's favorite and all she had been craving.

"I guess I was wrong. Here it is two days before my birthday and this boy has still not made an entrance!" Jessica says as she waddles back from the bathroom.

"Jesus, Mom, you can't even walk! Maybe we should do some exercises to help him come. What was that one we learned? You like hang in my arms and.. I don't really remember what else?"

"You all went to lamaze class?" Caroline asks.

"Yep! I have to admit, it felt weird to introduce my wife AND the woman carrying my child!"

Jessica laughs and taps his arm.

"He'll be here soon, there's no need to rush him."

"You are so calm! You're incredible!" Alyssa smiles.

Jessica smiles softly.
"I just want him to be ready to be born. When you start forcing babies out it takes them even longer during delivery!"

"I just love you, Jessie!" She says hugging her tightly.

"Aw, I love you too!"

"Little man is gonna love his Gigi!"

"I want to be called wela, I've decided!" Jessica smiles.

"Jess, you're the white grandma!" Danny says.

"So? I want to be his welita! Abuelita! That means little grandmother." Her smile grows.

"Mom, you are far from little!" Sam chuckles.

Jessica looks at him and pouts.

"Sam, that wasn't nice." Tiffany says when she notices how upset it made Jessica.

"Baby girl, don't cry! Sam is always an asshole." Danny says.

"Don't call my son an asshole, you bastard!"

"I'm sorry, sweetie."

"That was rude.. Prick!" Sam says to Danny.

"Samuel! That's my husband!"

"I don't know what you want here, mom!!" Sam lifts his hands.

"Just leave her alone, Sam!" James says walking over and wrapping his arms around her.

"Gigi no cwy! Gigi no cwy!" The twins stumble over.

"Oh my babies! Gigi's okay.." She smiles softly.

"Kishes!" They pucker.

Jessica bends over and kisses her little grand babies.

"We love you, Gigi!"

"Oh I love you so much more!"

"Baby Kishes! Baby Kishes!"

James chuckles then picks the kids up to kiss the baby.

"Baby in a big belly!" Liam laughs.

"Big big tummy, daddy!" Lyla smiles and points to Jessica's belly.

"I know, baby!"

"You babies are so cute! Now give Gigi her kisses!" Jessica pouts.

"Muah! I give Gigi kisses first!" Lyla pushes her brother.

"No me!" Liam shouts.

"HEY! She's MY mommy, guys!" Nova says.

"Oh you jealous girl! They know I'm your mommy!"

"Just checking, guys!" She says making them laugh.

Soon it was time to head to the doctors.
Zachary and Alyssa drove over with Danny and Jessica.

"This little boy of yours is so wild!" Jessica says with her belly in her hands.

"Maybe he's trying to break grandma's water!" Alyssa smiles.

"It sure feels like it! Are you trying to escape, Enrique?" Jessica pats her tummy then turns and smirks at Zachary and Alyssa.

"Mom!"

"I'm playing! I just wish I knew his name! You big bullies!" She says sticking her tongue out at them.

"Soon, Jessie!" Alyssa laughs.

Danny parks the car then helps Jessica out.

"Ooh!" She grabs the bottom of her stomach.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, it just hurts." Jessica says slowly rubbing her hand back and forth.

"Need a break?"

Jessica takes a deep breath as nods her head.
"I'm okay, let go get the walk over with.

Danny chuckles and kisses her temple before taking her hand to walk into the hospital.

"Man, did the doctor move?!" Jessica whines.

"Sorry Ma, I guess we should've gotten you a wheelchair."

"It's okay. We're almost there."

After finally making it up they waited for about fifteen minutes before being called back.

"Jessica Huston."

"Oop! That's us!" Alyssa stands up and holds Jessica's hands to help her stand.

"Thanks, sweetie."

Jessica walks back very slowly. It was obvious she was extremely uncomfortable.

"Jess, you okay?" Danny asks.

Jessica nods her head while letting out a deep breath.
Danny rubbed her back and they continued walking to the back.

"Go ahead and take a seat, I'll be right back with a gown."

"Okay." Jessica climbs up on the bed then looks at Danny with slightly widened eyes, "Oh! My water just broke!"

"Very funny, Jessica." Danny chuckles.

"Touch my crotch, I swear! I'm leaking!"

"Oh my gosh!" Alyssa immediately starts crying.

"I'm gonna be a mom!"

Jessica smiles as her eyes tear up.

"This is so embarrassing! It won't stop!"

"Here's my jacket, babe. Use it as a pad!" Danny hands it to her.

"Thanks!" She laughs.

"Okay, well you guys head over to the hospital!  Good luck, grandma!" The nurse smiles.

"Thank you!" Jessica says in a nervous voice.

Danny helps her off of the bed.  Meanwhile Jessica is still leaking everywhere.

She spreads her legs and places the jacket on her crotch before she starts walking.

"This is so embarrassing!" Jessica laughs hysterically as everyone watches them.

"We're gonna have a baby!" Alyssa shouts following behind.

"Ooh ow!" Jessica leans forward a bit more.

*Gasp* "This is your first official contraction!" Alyssa says as she gets her phone out and records her.

"Let's stop, Jessie." Danny says.

"I'm fine, keep walking!  Baby Ricky is on his way!"

"LET'S DO THIS!" Alyssa jumps with excitement.

Zachary turns her to face him and says, "We're finally gonna meet our baby."

Alyssa nods with tears in her eyes.
"We're about to be parents."

Zachary smiles with red watery eyes before he leans in to kiss her lips.

"Clean up in the hallway!  This jacket isn't doing shit!" Danny says.

Zachary and Alyssa break their kiss and turn to them.

"Stop kissing and Let's Go!  The chimichanga is coming!" Danny shouts.

While in pain Jessica squeezes Danny's hand and looks at him.

"Stop talking, Daniel!"

"There's my baby girl!  Come on, you've got this!" Danny kisses her cheek then continues guiding her to the elevator.
