Jessica decided not to see the psychiatrist, and to keep her diagnosis between her, Danny and Jane.
This news was hard for Jessica and a lot to take in, but with Danny by her side helping her day by day, she knew she would be okay.

When Jessica did have bad days, Danny would sit with her and talk to her.  He told her that is was okay to cry and to be angry, and that he was there for her.

The first few weeks after finding out that she wasn't pregnant was extremely hard on her.  She was still feeling sick and her stomach was still slightly bulged.  She felt as though she was going crazy.  Jessica didn't understand why she was like this and felt embarrassed for even having this illness.  She's been pregnant before and couldn't understand how she could even feel this way.  How could she not have sensed a difference?  She questioned her sanity everyday.

April 20th

Today was Jessica's birthday.  She's improved and hasn't been as down lately.  Danny and the boys just wanted her day to be special.  Even though the boys didn't know what was going on, they sensed that something was wrong because of her mood.

"Happy Birthday, beautiful girl!"

"Thank you, honey."

"Breakfast is ready for you, my love. I have the day off, we can do whatever you want." Danny smiles and wraps his arms around her.

"Thank you, baby."

"You know, Mrs. Huston.. I've been in love with you for two years, and it seems like just a blink of an eye.
I remember seeing you for the first time.. Man you looked so gorgeous!  All I wanted was to make you mine."

Jessica looks into his eyes and says, "You have me."

A small smile appears on Danny's face.

"That's right.  You're all mine now!"

Later that evening they all planned to go out to dinner.  While Jessica was getting ready, Zachary pulled Danny into his room.

"Dad, I want to ask you something... Now, I've been thinking about this for a really really long time, and I know this is what I want."

"What?"

"I want Jessica to adopt me so that I'm legally her's.
I'll never forget my mother, but.. Well I've never really had one.  I know I'm older now, but... I'll always need a mom.. and that's Jessie."

Danny smiled softly and said, "I think she'd love that, son."

Dinner.

"Jess.. I have something to ask you."

"Go ahead, sweetie." She smiles.

"I've been thinking.. A lot, and.. I wanted to know if you would adopt me?"

Jessica gasps lightly and her eyes tear up.

"I love you like you're my own mom, Jessie.. It would only make sense to make it legal.  So.. Will you be my mother?" He chuckles.

"Oh baby.. Yes!  Of course I'll be your mother!"

Zachary smiles and stands up.  He and Jessica walk to each other and share a tight hug.

"I promise to be the best mother I can possibly be, Zachary."

"I promise to be the best son I can possibly be... Mom."

Jessica smiles and hugs him again.

Mother's Day.

"Happy Mother's Day!" Michael hugs Jessica.

"Thank you, baby!"

"Happy Mother's Day, mom!" Zachary smiles big.

"Awe, thank you!"

"I've never really said that before and now you're officially my mom! Well in a couple hours you will be." Zachary smiles.

"I know! It's so exciting! At the end of the day, I'll have another son!"

**

"That's it! It's official! You're my son!" Jessica jumped and lifted her hands in the air.

Zachary smiles and tears up.

"Oh baby, my are you crying?"

"I'm sorry, I'm just happy."

"Awe.. So am I. Zachary, I love you with all my heart.. Marriage made you my family... But love made you my son."

He smiles softly and hugs her.

"This may seem cheesy, but I've just never been so happy..
You may not have given me my eyes or my smile.. But from the very first moment.. Mom, you had my heart."

Jessica can't even respond, she starts crying as soon as she hears those words.

"I love you, baby.. I love you, I love you, I love you."

"I love you too."

"Heh! Who knew I'd become a mother again on Mother's Day?! That's pretty cool, I think." Jessica chuckles.

The next day was Danny's birthday.
Jessica laid her body on his and gave him soft kisses.

"Happy birthday, my handsome boy!"

"Mmm.. Happy birthday.." Danny mumbles.

"What?" Jessica laughs.

"I mean thank you.."

"Heh!  The big three five!  Are you so excited?!"

"Yeah I am!"

Jessica laughs and Danny turns to his back.

Jessica straddles his waist and she smiles down to his sleepy face.

Danny rubs his eyes then places his hands on her hips.

"What do you want to do today?"

"We both have to work."

"Oh yeah.. Well what do you want for dinner?"

"Hmm.. How about a sweet little dish called Jessica?"

"Ha-Ha, very cute." Jessica pokes his chest.

"Yes I am." He smiles cutely.

"Stop it!" She laughs.

"Grayson, it's daddy's birthday!"

"What!  My daddy's birthday?!  Yay!"

Jessica laughs and he runs to Danny.

"Daddy, are you old?"

"Not as old as mommy." He looks at Jessica with a smile.

"Oh that's mean!"

"Is mama really old?" Grayson asks.

"Nah!  I'm just messing with her.  We're young, right, baby?"

"Yes!  Of course!" Jessica smiles.

May 31st.

"You boys please be careful and make the right decisions.. I know that prom night should be fun, but don't do anything you'll regret!"

"We won't, mom." Michael answers.

"Remember that drugs and alcohol do not make you cool!" Jessica points her finger.

"Yes ma'am." Zachary says.

Jessica watches them for a moment and her eyes fill with tears.

"I can't believe you're going to prom. Where did the time go?"

Danny walks over to them and places his arm around Jessica's lower waist.

"Boys, listen to your mother. If not, then there will be consequences."

"Yes sir."

"Oh my babies!" Jessica's voice goes loud and high as she breaks away from Danny and hugs them tightly.

Two weeks later Danny and the boys were at basketball practice.

"It's just you and mommy now, Grayson!"

"Yeah! We play toys?"

"Sure! What do you want to play?"

"How bout I run run run and you twy to catch me!" He smiles.

"Oh I don't know, you're pretty fast.. I'm not sure if- I'M GONNA GET YOU, GRAYSON!" She says as she starts running after him.

"Ahhh!" Grayson lets out a high pitched scream, then laughs hysterically.

"Oh I got you! You can't outrun mommy! Yeah you can't outrun mommy!" She yanks him up from the ground.

"Ahh! You gotted me!"

"Haha! Yes I gotted you!" She tickles him and gives him kisses.

The next day Jessica made breakfast for the boys.
Danny went downstairs before they came down, so it was just him and Jessica. Grayson was in the living room playing with his toys.

"You okay, Danny?" Jessica asks.

"Yeah.. It's just.. Well today's the last game." He looks down.

"I've coached Zachary's team since he was just a kid.. Michael.. The moment I saw him I was like Wow!" His eyes light up.

"That kid has talent, Jess."

Jessica smiles softly.

"It's always been such a great bonding thing, and I'll miss it."

"You sound so much like Sam right now. He was our boys coach until.. Until he got sick. He was there for Michael's last middle school game. He was supposed to be his high school coach too but...
*Sighs* Mikey really liked you, I think you remind him a lot of his dad. I understand what you mean about the whole bonding thing. It's sad that our boys are growing up, and you won't be their coach anymore.. But look at this.. You still have Grayson." Jessica smiles.

"That's true, I do!" Danny's face lights up.

"Of course!"

Danny stands up and Jessica wraps her arms around the back of his neck.

"I guess no matter what.. I was always meant to be with the basketball coach."

Danny chuckles and Jessica gives him a gorgeous smile.

"You are too much, Mrs. Huston."

"Yes, I know." Jessica smiles cutely.

After the last game Jessica became a little emotional. Memories of Michael's last game with Sam came back to her, and also seeing the boys with Danny made her feel emotional.
This was their last high school game, and soon they would be graduating and moving away for college. It was all too much for her.

"Mom, why are you crying?" Zachary asks.

"I just.. I don't know." She chuckles and wipes her eyes.

"You boys are growing up and.. And leaving me!"

"Oh mom, don't cry!" Michael says.

"After graduation we still have the whole summer to do things together.

"I know.. I just.. I'll miss you."

"We'll miss you too, mom."

"Boys, just one picture, please!"

"But Mooom!" They whine.

"Come on, it's your last day of school!"

"Boys, smile for the camera." Danny says.

They listen and Jessica snaps the picture.

"Okay, one more with your brother!" She smiles and grabs Grayson's hand to walk him over.

Jessica takes it and smiles.
"Oh look at my little men! This is so cute!"

"Mama, I look too cute?"

"Haha! Yes, Grayson!"

"Yay!" He jumps making Jessica laugh at his cuteness.

June 4th.
Sam and James came in late the night before for Michael and Zachary's graduation.
Jessica stayed up all night getting everything ready.

"Honey, it's late. You need to get some sleep. We have a long day tomorrow."

"I'm almost done.. Just.. Just go to bed." She says in a tearful voice sitting on the ground surrounded by pictures.

"Honey, what's wrong?"

"Nothing.."

"It's something, what is it?"

"I'm just looking at old pictures of the boys."

Danny sits beside her and takes the picture from her hand.

"Oh look at this! They're so cute." He chuckles.

"That was Michael's first day of kindergarten.. The boys were staring second grade.. Where did my little babies go?"

Danny rubs her back and kisses her cheek.

"I'm scared, Danny."

"Of what, Princess?"

"Of having a quiet house.
I want kids to be here fighting.. I want them to be horse playing, and getting on my last nerve. I want our home to be filled with chaos."

Danny doesn't say a word, he just wraps his arms around her and she curls into his chest.

Sorry that this chapter sucked and that this story is kind of all over the place, but like I said I'm trying to speed it up so I have more time for other things. 🙃
