Jessica's letter to the twins.

To my baby boys.
First of all I want to thank you for coming out of me!  That was some pain let me tell you!
But you both were so so worth it.  The moment I first saw your little faces I felt something in my heart I have never felt before. I promise to be the best mother I can possibly be. I'll never put the work on someone else, because you're mine and I want to take care you. I promise to listen to you and to always be there for you no matter what. I'm your mother and I want you to feel comfortable coming to me about anything. I can be your best friend, and if you do something to disappoint us, I can be your worst nightmare. :)
I can't believe you won't be reading this for another 18 years! Seems like forever, but it will more than likely come much too soon. I hope and pray that you will listen and learn from your father. He is the most incredible person I have ever met. He's young, but the huge responsibilities that he has taken on has made me so proud. I know he will be the best dad ever. It's so weird to think about you reading this as young adults, especially since right now as I'm writing this. James is on my boob and daddy is changing Samuel's dirty diaper! But I know you will be amazing young men and I know that your father and I are so so proud of you. I love you always no matter what.

Sam's letter to the boys.

To my sons, Samuel Roger Shepard, and James Alexander Shepard. Today at 10:29 am. and 10:44 am. I became a father to two amazing little boys.  Your beautiful mother brought you into this world and for that I am the happiest guy alive.  What your mother has gone through is something I never thought was actually humanly possible, but she did it with ease. In life I want you to always put your mom first, because she has done a lot for you. I want you to know how much I am in love with her. I know we're young.. Babies actually, but I do! She is so special to me.
Boys, feeling you move around your mother's belly was the most incredible feeling. Now that you're here.. It's a feeling I've never had before.  I didn't think this type of love was possible.
Please know that you are made with love.  There was no accident.. You are simply an unexpected blessing.
Finding out I was going to be a father was terrifying, I must admit.  and finding out it was twins was even scarier.. But seeing these two little things pop up on the screen.. Two little people your mommy and I created together.. Seeing you made me know that everything was going to be okay.
I want only the best for you two, so I promise to spend the rest of my life fighting for whatever that may be.
The day you leave for college, you'll read this and I want you to see just how loved you were since day one.
I can't explain my love and put it into words, but I'll try. It's a crazy, fuzzy, warm and exciting unconditional love that I have for the both of you and nothing and no one can break that! I can't wait to see what kind of boys you turn out to be.  I'm really excited to be on this crazy journey of life with you two guys and your mommy.
