"To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin." -John 8:31-34

We've all probably read or heard verse 32 (bolded) several times, but have we ever taken the time to fully understand and know what Jesus meant when he said those words? We need to dig deeper into the Word.
The scripture goes on to say that everyone who sins is a slave to sin. When I imagine that in my head, I see a person with big chains wrapped all around him, disabling him to do greater things. As he continues to sin, the chains get shorter and shorter and he can do very little now, for himself and for others.

But here's the good news:

✴OUR GOD IS A CHAIN BREAKER!✴

He and only He will set you free from your sins if we hold to His teachings and live according to His holy word.
