Perception is reality pt2.

Personal relationships had never come easily to Entrapta.

Other people were always such a mystery with her. Always so impatient when she tried to demonstrate the wonders of science yet so easily offended when she failed to show adequate excitement for...whatever they would prattle on about. Constantly masking their true intentions behind metaphors & "protocol" only to demand she should always speak with transparent clarity. Their actions could go unexplained while she had to eternally explain & justify her actions.

She liked to think she had grown used to it. Sure it was irritating when repeated with enough frequency but she'd learned to allow isolated incidents slide. If only because it never seemed to be worth the effort to try and explain why she found certain things annoying or uncomfortable.

Also aiding in her learning to live with these issues was that they occurred in every interaction, effecting all her interpersonal relationships.

She was certain that Baker, Soda Pop & Busgirl had come to care for her over their years of service. Their smiles always seemed genuine enough & they truly seemed relieved when she finally returned to the Crypto Castle. Still, she had overheard them complaining about her boobytraps enough times to know that, as much as they may like or even care for her, they had never truly accepted her "quirks". Nevertheless, she could honestly say she considered them friends & they had employment in her home as long as they wanted it.

Her "friends" in the Princess Alliance however...

They weren't all bad in fairness. Netossa, Spinnerella & Frosta were...alright. Frosta could be a bit loud for her liking & Netossa's insistence on turning everything into a competition could get tiring. Not to mention they were both guilty of sharing their opinions without asking but never really seeming to want to listen. (though in fairness this wasn't just directed at her specifically. The two struggled to listen to anyone besides "Spinny" and Glimmer respectively) Spinnerella was probably her "favorite" of the three, but only in the sense that she at least tried to respect Entrapta's boundaries. She wouldn't say the older woman was her best friend but she liked her well enough.

Entrapta had hoped she & Glimmer could have a friendly relationship but ever since she had overheard her confessing to being willing to leave Entrapta on Beast Island...well sufficient to say pursuing a deeper friendship with the Queen of Bright Moon fell significantly down the scientists list of priorities.

Bow always seemed to enjoy her presence & she felt the same for him. Yet she would occasionally get the feeling that the archer saw her as a friend only in the sense of their shared love of tech. She had compiled the data & he didn't appear seek out her company any more regularly than the others. Still having a "tech friend" was nice and she held him in higher regards then most people she had to interact with.

Honestly between Perfuma & Mermista she couldn't decide who was the most frustrating Princess. If the Saliniean wasn't calling her a "geek" or a "weirdo" then the Plumerian threatening to have a tizzy every time Entrapta started even vaguely mentioned tech or questioned her on her "calming exercises" (which from what the scientist had observed weren't even all that calming).

Scorpia was easily the only other Princess she could call a friend. Yes she had initially sided with Catra when the Magicat attacked her over the portal but in time the Horde Princess had done the right thing, leading ultimately to her rescue. Combined with the Scorpioni's sincere (if never successful) attempts to talk with Entrapta about her experiments, Entrapta could say without hesitation that Scorpia was one of her most prized relationships.

Regarding Catra...Entrapta was of two minds. On the one hand, Catra was the one to find her when her fellow Princesses had left her behind in the Fright Zone. Plus if not for the Magicat she would have never met the most important person in her life. On the other hand when she had heard about how she had treated him, repeatedly removing the chrystal she had implanted in his armor, robbing him of the ability to walk on his own, plus the claw marks in one of his ports which she had given him while he was being mind controlled had the tiny scientist envisioning strangling the former Force Captain with her hair! Ultimately she & her lab partner had agreed that the would watch how she behaved towards them & react accordingly.

Adora...Entrapta could never thank Adora enough. Her lab partner would have been lost in Prime's grip forever if not for the blonde expelling the tyrant from his body. That alone would have earned her Entrapta's eternal gratitude, combine it with the First One's honest efforts to understand both of them & Adora had a permanent invite to Dryl.

And finally there was Hordak. She wasn't sure she could ever put into words how much he meant to her.

Hordak, the first one who judged her not for the princess she wasn't but solely as the scientist she was.

Hordak, who she never had to explain herself too.

Hordak, who understood that just because she failed it didn't mean she was a child he needed to look after.

Hordak, who confessed to breaking down in tears when he heard of her exile whilst the Princesses apparently deemed her rescue a subject in need of debate (Glimmer's confession was quite detailed).

Hordak who in all his beautiful imperfections, found delight in the same behavior that in the past had garnered her looks of confusion & annoyance.

Hordak, her lab partner, till death do they part.
