It had been only a couple of days since Hordak had turned against his brother Prime. In the chaos that followed he had been possessed, his body used to activate the Heart of Etheria in a attempt by Prime to destroy all his enemies in a fell swoop only to be purged of his creator by the very being that had been directly responsible for leading the Rebellion to victory against his forces. The defector who had accused him of lying to him his entire life only for him to bluntly state that she did not warrant enough consideration in his eyes for him to bother lying. And he had meant it at the time, yet when she appeared before him after removing Prime's oppressive presence not merely from his body but the entire universe he was amazed he could ever forget the babe he found in the ruinous results of his first portal attempt.

But what he remembered most clearly of that day, the moment that he was sure would be burned into his mind until the end of days, was the almost tangible joy in lab partners voice as she called his name & nearly tackled him to the ground. That same woman was now returning from the kitchen of the Crypto Castle with a tray of the sugar filled tiny foods & fizzy drinks she so adored. As he had waited for her to return he had stumbled upon the new wielding mask she had acquired. He hadn't gotten a proper look until now & found himself amazed by just how lifelike it was. He wasn't aware Entrapta even had a appreciation for the flora & fauna of Etheria aside from the data she could collect from them, let alone that she cared enough for them to model her equipment in their likeness. He was trying to recall if he had seen a creature like this during his time on Etheria when the beautiful sound of her voice cut through his thoughts,

"Sorry it took me so long but i as i was trying to decide which snacks you'd like best remembered you'd never actually tried any of the food i offered you before so i decided to bring one of everything so we can make a comprehinsive list of your opinions on each of them". She explained as she used her hands to clear space on one of her several workbenches for multiple plates of food & drink she had brought. After everything was setled she turned around and seemed to be about to say something else when her eyes landed on the mask in his hands. "Whatcha doing with my mask?".

"I find it quite fascinating". he admitted. "I was wondering why you gave it such a peculiar design though?"

"Oh! Well actually I didn't design it. That's how it looked when the giant mantis was using it as its face". She explained making a "no big deal" gesture with one of her pigtails.

"Ah, I see," he said only for the full implication of what she said struck him "But wait, if this was some creatures face, how did you acquire it?"

"Well it was this whole process but...(Entrapta's eyes lit up with excitement) oh! Actually i think it's a story you'd enjoy" She said before pausing to arrange her hair so she could sit on it. "Ok when Catra sent me to Beast Island (he really should look into punishing the magicat for that) i was initially pretty scared before i realized just how much First Ones tech was there just laying around!" Her arms went wide in emphasis. "It was actually quite exciting for a while except for the occasional wild animal attack" She said as if that were a minor annoyance. "Until one day i was escaping a pack of Pookas i lost my footing and fell down a hill and landed facefirst. The good news was my mask protected me from further damage, The bad news was it was damaged beyond repair."

"I am sorry to hear that," he said in what he hoped was a sympathetic tone. "I understand you were quite attached to that mask"

"Yeah. I had it for years" Her sorrow on her face made his heart ache. "But the worst part was it seemed i'd have to abandon the projects I'd started. You can't wield without a mask!" She paused with a look of consideration on her face. " Well i could but it could do long term damage to my eyes," she said matter-of-factly. "Well anyway, it seemed my work was done until I saw it" She said rather theatrically pointing to the mask in his hands. "You should have seen it Hordak! It was beautiful! Six legs, Two huge schythe like claws, It even had wings!" The look on her face had switched to pure scientific wonder " Oh what I would've given to bring it here for proper study. But the best part was what it was doing. You see there much of the tech on the Island was in terrible disrepair. The particular piece this creature was studying was damaged so recently that it was still emitting such a high quantity of sparks I couldn't stare directly at it for to long and yet the creature was seemingly unaffected. It stared directly into the sparking wreckage as if trying to figure out what happened. It was then I realized that this creature's eyes must have some sort of protective measure that ensures it maintains it's vision even in otherwise low visibility environments. Seeing an opportunity I resolved to test it it's eyes could replace my mask. So after following it for a few days to discern its behavioral patterns. I laid a trap at it's favorite watering hole & waited. When it arrived to quench it's thirst I launched the net i had constructed. It flew over the beast the rocks I attached to the ends keeping it pinned to the ground. Then grabbing the biggest, sharpest piece of metal I could find in my hair, i sprinted across the field, climbed it's back & began the work of detaching its head from the rest of its body!" Hordak could feel his jaw drop open slightly. "I hadn't had the chance to properly sharpen the edge of the metal piece i was using" Entrapta continued on. "So it required several stiff whacks to fully remove its head. (she raised and lowered her hands in a clear swinging motion) But finally victory was mine! i took the head back to the campsite i'd set up in one of the abandond structures, removed the face from the rest of the head, cleaned it up, attached some vines as straps to keep it from falling and Tah-Dah new wielding mask!"

Hordak was struck silent for several minutes. Finally he found himself chuckling before saying "i must say Princess i knew you were an incredible scientist but i had no clue you were such a accomplished huntress as well"

Entrapta's cheeks turned a light pink. "Well ya know, Someone had to catch the animals for me to catalog Etheria's animal kingdom. If you want i can tell you some more stories while you try the snacks"

"I would like that very much". Yes, Hordak very much looked forward to learning as much as possible about this astounding woman the universe had gifted him with
