Entrpata had never been one to make a big deal of the holidays. Oh sure as Queen of Dryl she would through a few small celebrations a few nights a year but that was more a continuation of a family tradition then any genuine enthusiasm on her part. She often struggled with the point of it all. Most people seemed to use them as a "excuse to get together with loved ones" but that didn't entirely register with her. Surely if you and your loved ones truly wanted to "get together" you would do so without having to need an excuse?

But this year was different. For once Entrapta could say with full honesty that she was excited to host the yearly festivities. Because this year she had something, or rather someone to spend them with, someone who shared her discomfort at public events and the large crowds that tended to come to them. Yes Entrapta had was very much inclined to believe that the presence of her lab partner, as well as the number of his brothers who had moved to Dryl, would make this a far more enjoyable holiday season then years past.

Those brothers were at this moment scurrying about the main hall of the Crypto Castle setting up the decorations that went with this particular holiday (they all kind of blended together to her) ensuring her home was the appropriate level of "festive", as vague as she found that term to be. She had entrusted her organic servants with the task. They seemed to have a much better grasp of what people expected this time of year and they hadn't let her down any of the previous years she assigned them this duty. Besides this was one of the few tasks that she assigned them that she could say without any doubt that they enjoyed performing. Given how much they did for her, t only seemed right to let them have something that made them so happy.

Speaking of making people important to her happy, she had a certain holiday tradition to show Hordak but first she had to determine where he was. Managing to question Kadroh while he was hanging the customary wreaths at Soda Pops instruction. He happily revealed that his brother had retreated to the lab to work on a improvement to the castle's security system once he had caught wind of how many people she was inviting. It was true this would be bigger then her previous parties due to her considerably expanded social circle but she hadn't invited anyone she thought would cause trouble. Thought she had to admit her lab partner could get rather paranoid regarding things like her safety. It was sweet if unnecessary. Her robots were all programmed with defense protocols for a reason after all.

After thanking Kadroh she made haste to the main laboratory working on what appeared to be a modified version of her alarm system. When she extended one of her pigtails to tap him on the shoulder, he initially jumped in surprise before calming at the sight of her.

"You know i only invited those who could attend without causing a fuss" she opened with a smile "Their shouldn't be any need for a strengthening of security"

"Yes well as you may recall" he began slowly "I was never comfortable inviting people into my sanctum. It appears that is still the case"

While her heart swelled to hear he considered the castle his "sanctum" she felt the need to reassure him. "It's a long standing tradition that there be no violence at these types of gatherings. My fellow royals value their own reputations too much to break commit such an infraction"

"While i of course trust your judgement on their ability to be civil" He replied with a smile "I would still feel better if the new security measure were implemented before the event. One can never entirely predict how another will react," his smile faded into a pianed expression that had Entrapta's heart plummeting.

"If it truuly means that much to you then if course you can install the new system" she said taking his hands in hers. "I'll even help you But first i want to show you a tradition for this holiday i think you'll enjoy" she said before producing a small plant from her pocket and dangling it above his head using her hair. "You still have that holiday rituals guide i gave you?"

He responded by opening the drawer of the desk he was working at and retrieving the pamphlet she'd produced for him. "I've not let it too far from my reach since you have it to me. Although i don't entirely understand the rituals described within" he said with a loo of honest confusion.

"We'll go over it together later but right now i need you to open to the section regarding this holiday and read the ritual requiring this plant." She said with what she hoped was a flirty smile.

It was with a slight blush that he flipped through the pages until he found the correct passage. "The Blackthorn plant is to be hung in various passageways throughout one's dwelling. Once two individuals meet underneath the plant they are required by tradition to..." He trailed off with his eyes going slightly wide "Entrapta this cannot be" He was cut off this time by her lifting herself on her pigtails to bring her lips to his. They stood like that for a moment until she pulled away with a faint blush "So what do you think?"

"I think i may have to give the rest of these rituals a try" he said with the blush on his cheeks reforming "After we finish work on the new security system that is"

"That's the spirit!" she exclaimed "Now show me what you've got so far"

They spent the rest of the day in each others company. After finishing their new security system Hordak had let her walk him through a few more traditions with varying levels of enjoyment. As they settled into bed for the night she couldn't help but think her previous theory was looking more and more likely.

This would her most enjoyed holiday yet!
