Invisible monsters

Deadly monsters

You may laugh

You may shrug

It's not a joke

They're the ones that make you run up the stairs away from the dark

They're the ones that make you double check the lock on your door

They're the ones that make you cry until you can't breath

They're real

But the real reason I believe in monsters?

I look at one in the mirror every day
