I smiled as Madeline kept talking. Today is just as rainy as yesterday, the clouds kept their dark shade while rain kept splashing against the ground. Madeline came over to my house today as she was completely bored and wanted to have some girl time with me. She talking about her summer camp experiences, while I just happily listened to her. The timer ringed through the house. One of the servants came up to us informing that they were baked.

Madeline and I decided to bake some chocolate chip cookies to with some hot chocolate marshmallows. This has been our winter tradition, whenever it was too snowy outside and the school gave us a holiday. I walked up to the oven and wore gloves taking out the cookies setting them in the counter. The smell of the freshly baked chocolate chip was spreading all over the house. Madeline prepared the hot chocolate, which I got a packet of marshmallows. We added a generous amount of marshmallows in our milk. I filled a plate full of cookies and we both headed back to my room.

We gossiped about movies, people, school and stuff. Then, came a deadly serious topic.

"So, you're turning 18 this Sunday. You must be excited to finally meet your mate?" I said staring at my empty mug afraid to look up. 

"Yes, Rose has been non-stop chattering about meeting her mate." Madeline said excitedly. I swallowed and forced a smile. She's lucky to have Rose. Madeline realised what she said, and stopped talking.

"Oh, no! I am so sorry... I didn't mean to bring up Rose, but..." 

"S'okay Madeline. I fine with it, just because I can't talk about my wolf since I haven't really... you know... communicated with her, doesn't mean you are forbidden to talk about Rose." 

Madeline smiled and looked at me intensely.

"You know, Katherine, you are an amazing friend. You try to be badass and vicious at times, but deep inside you and I both know that you are actually a friendly, lovely fine lady that is an absolute delight to meet. Everyone in our pack are excited to have you as the future Alpha. The children adore you, and you take care of them so much! The elders, oh my gosh..... They keep talking about how you often come and visit them and help in charity funds. You're the best friend I could ask for," she took a deep breathe and continued, " And your mate... I think he has got to be the luckiest person to meet someone like you."

Little tears made their way on our faces. For the first I didn't object when she started to talk about my future mate, because I just couldn't.

"Mads, thank you so much.." I said tears spilling all over.

"I am so scared about becoming the future Alpha you know, but when I think of you, Mads, I know it's gonna be alright. But I forgot that things last for a while..." I said and her eyebrows crunched in confusion. 

"You're going to find your mate.. And if," I said shakily not brave enough to say the following words, "... if he's from another pack, you... you'll leave forever.. What will I do without you?" I said as I turned into a full-on crying mess. Madeline started to cry heavier as she hugged me.

"Your so silly you know!" She said as she wiped her tears away.

"A sister to sister promise, I will never leave no matter what. We don't need to be close to stay close. Because you'll always stay next to my heart, mate or not. We might not be sister by blood but we're sisters but love and love is something way more precious. No one can take me away from you, miles apart or homes away.... You will always be my sister, Kathy, always." She promised wiping my tears. I bite my lips... Her words were so touching, so touching. 

"Now, I don't want to spend the rest of the day crying...." Madeline said jumping up and down excitedly.

"Let's watch TVD," I suggested. She eagerly nodded while I went to bring my laptop and put on a random episode. We have already watched the entire show till season 7, so it didn't matter what episode we watched. We fell asleep while watching the episodes.

"Wake up!" said a motherly voice ringing in my ears. I opened my eyes and yawned to see Madeline doing the same thing. Aunty Suzy and mom were in front of us. 

"Girls, good morning." Madeline and I starred at each other.

"Wait! Mom, isn't it dinner time?" I asked.

"No, you girls slept over dinner and we did try waking you up but you didn't wake up."

Madeline and I nodded understanding why they said morning. Our stomachs decided to make their presence roaring like a tiger. 

"Breakfast is ready. Shower. Brush. Eat. Pack. And then, remember girls we are leaving today." 

We nodded and followed their instructions. After two hours, I was done with packing. I managed to fit my stuff in a medium sized white suitcase and a matching mini handbag. Whereas, Madeline packed all of her stuff in a big golden bag not wanting to carry a handbag. We are meant to live in 30 minutes in our private jet.

I wore a white blouse with a black pencil skirt along with a black blazer and killer white heels. I added my make-up touches and a simple shade of lip gloss. Madeline got ready and was already out of the house. Everyone was in the cars waiting for me as I curled my hair and grabbed a white purse. I wore a necklace and left the house. I sat in the car and we were off to the airport. In the end of the airport, there was a private section for private jets. Our jet was standing there in the middle. We all entered the jet and sat in our seats. I tightened my seat belt as they went over the safety procedures. I pulled out my headphones and listened to some songs while reading a Daniel Steel book.

I was quite excited to see the Royal pack and once again I thought about Maximus Kai Royal giving me chills. This is weird. I heard Tiger and Josh laugh in the back, while all of our dads talk in the front about something while drinking champagne. Our mothers sat very close together gossiping, while Maddy slept in front of me on the comfy couch/seat. 

The jet increased speed and altitude increased until finally it was in the air.

This is gonna be a long flight.
