I woke up with a serious bang on my head. It was as if I drank eight glasses of vodka and had a serious crazy hangover. Now, thinking about it, that doesn't seem as bad as what really happened. If you forgot, let me just give this quick flashback of my life. Alpha Maximus is not who he is, in fact, he is someone else or maybe he is Alpha? But, then, there is a new Alpha Maximus? Wait, what? There are TWO Alpha Maximus' - that's it I am going to have a heart attack. 

"Hey, you're  up! Take it easy," I heard a sweet voice which I knew was Maddy's. I wanted to say something but my lips were too parched. Thankfully, she understood and went to bring me a glass of water.

I drank the entire glass and Maddie snorted. 

"Thanks," I said. She smiled.

"So, what happened? Where am I?" I looked around to see an IV drip inserted in my left hand. 

"After Alpha Maximus came, you fainted and he carried you to the hospital. Apparently, the doctor said you fainted due to excess stress and lack of vitamins in your body." Maddie said.

"Alpha Maximus?" I questioned. 

"Yeah, the guy who you had an eye lock with when you fell!" Maddie teased as she giggled like a high school girl. Oh, it was not the other one. For some reason, my heart clenched at the thought of the other Maximus.

"So, he is Alpha Maximus?" Maddie nodded.

"Oh, I totally forgot that you didn't know. Okay, so the truth is..." Before she could talk anymore, the other Maximus entered the room.

"Hey." He said looking straight into my eyes. His hair looked extremely messy as if he ran his hand over it several times. He was not wearing a suit like he did in the morning instead, he wore a casual pant and shirt. 

"Hey," I replied. I was mad at him for several reasons, but I needed answers.

Maddie took this as her cue to leave the door, despite my pleading eyes for her to stay. He sat on a chair beside my bed and I turned my head to face him.

"I am guessing you have a lot of questions," he said. I nodded and he motioned for me to continue.

"Who are you?" 

"Nathan."

"Why did you lie to me?"

He scratched his neck and sighed.

"I am forced by the Luna to not tell anyone the truth." 

"Okay, then who is the real Alpha Maximus? Please don't tell me there are more fake versions of him. I want to know the real King of our race!" I raised my voice slightly towards the end and he flinched slightly.

"The one who you met before you.."

"Ended up here?" I said sweetly but in reality, I was furious.

"Yeah."

"Can you say anything more than a word or a sentence?" I said growing tired.

"Look, Katherine, I just wanted to say that I am very sorry. I didn't want to play with your emotions, especially last night. The ball has been moved, by the way. It will happen two weeks later due to a series of unexpected events. I just want to tell you something." Tears streamed down my cheeks as I turned away from the so-called Nathan. I can't even trust him anymore and I don't care if he is lying to me again. My heart raced fast and I knew I was lying. I did care because I, for once, was so close to falling in love with someone else.

"Remember to never trust the ones around you, no matter what. When you find the truth, never tell anyone otherwise they will kill you. And lastly, remember I will always and forever..." He trailed off and started to walk out of the door. I gasped and turned my head slightly to look at him. My eyebrows were raised and my lips were dry. 

"Love you..." I heard him whisper these words before he left and closed the door. I cried and removed the IV drip from my hand. I got off the bed and tried to reach to the door. After tumbling a few times, I managed to open the door. There was a long hallway filled with nurses and doctors running around with equipment and people sitting on the seats waiting for their loved ones. I could barely see Nathan and my eyes didn't stop searching for him. 

I saw Maddie walking up to me, but I ran towards the other end. I knew that Nathan was still around here.

"Katherine!" Maddie screamed and tried to follow me. I ran as fast as I can. The nurses looked at me as if I was some crazy fugitive. I didn't care, not right now. I turned around the corner and ray of light hit my eyes. I bumped into the wall.

Wait.

What?

I bumped into a wall in the corner, but I just saw people come from here. What is going on? I opened my eyes and looked up. Oh, no. It was my father with his angry glare.

"Katherine, what are you doing out of the hospital bed?" He said as my mother came and pulled me into a tight hug. I saw some doctors and nurses stop to look at the action going here, but my father commanded them to go back to what they were doing. After all, he is an Alpha.

"Daddy," I gave my puppy eyes as he sighed.

"Sweet cheeks, are you alright? We heard and came rushing. What happened? How are you? Did you get hurt?" My mother questioned as her eyes traced every inch of my skin. I rolled my eyes at her over-protectiveness.

"Mom, chill." I smoothly said as my eyes looked behind my dad's shoulder to see if Nathan still was there. I saw him and gasped.

He winked at me and gave me a cheesy smile like the one he gave when I first met him in the hallway. 

"Nathan," I murmured as my eyes popped. He gave one last look and left the hospital through the main entrance. My mother and father were saying words, I think, but I couldn't hear them. I was deafened with silence and shock.

My mother took me to the room, but I stayed still. He left me. I bit my lips as my ears rang. His words echoed. His touch lingered. His eyes remained. But, all in my heart.

'Remember I will always and forever love you...' 

"I love you too." Those were my last words before I swept in the valley of darkness.
