Okay, It's official.

Marinette hated being a princess.

It was only the first day. She was having the most wonderful sleep in the softest bed she had ever laid upon. She probably had nice dreams from sleeping on the bed-shaped cloud. Suddenly, her hotel door flew upon, making her heart jump start as she shot up from her bed and frantically looked around her room. Then, without warning, a group of females carrying numerous makeup products barged into her room, some were pushing in racks of different styles of traditional Chinese dresses, colourful qipaos and cheongsams coming into her line of vision before a pair of very pretty girls picked her up from her heaven of a bed and shoved her into the bathroom.

Marinette barely had time to scream from the intruders, instead she was only able to blink rapidly into the empty space of her bathroom where she could hear feminine shouts from the bathroom door behind her. She slowly dropped onto her knees on the floor and let out shaking breaths, trying to make understanding of the current situation.

"What the fuck." She whispered to herself.

Marinette slowly picked herself up and started running her fingers through the knotted tangles of her hair, deciding to at least have a relaxing shower before dealing with the strangers that just busted down her door and let themselves into their room. She recalled seeing makeup bags within the arms of some of the girls but couldn't rack up any ideas of any business they would have with her. Were they actually reporters in disguise that finally figured out her status?

Okay, Marinette had to admit that that idea sounded far-fetched, even by her own standards. She decided not to dwell on it any longer, peeling off her pyjamas and stepping into the shower, letting the warmth wash over her and chase away her drowsiness.

"MISS CHENG I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO HURRY UP, PLEASE!" A series of loud knocks followed after the person's shouting in Mandarin, the abruptness of hearing their voice causing Marinette to nearly slip on the slick floor of the shower. Luckily she caught her footing before she actually fell but her heart was still pounding against her chest from the sudden loudness. Then she started to feel irritated because why would a stranger tell her what to do? She should really just stay inside the bathroom for the whole day out of spite and call the police on them but then she remembered that all of her personal belongings were on the other side of the door, making her click her tongue in frustration and shut off the water abruptly.

She put her pyjamas back on because there was no way in hell she was going out of the bathroom in only a towel, allowing for everyone to see. The mere thought of it made her cheeks burn in utter mortification but she gathered up her courage to open the door and look as authoritative as she could.

She stood agape at the doorway as her room now resembled the backstage of a fashion show. Marinette let out a rather loud gasp, causing everyone to stop in their business and stare at the small bluenette. Marinette quickly shook herself out of her stupor as she opened her mouth to ask the strangers just what they were doing in her room.

Unfortunately it seemed that all of her luck as Ladybug left her today and before she could let out a protest, she was once again manhandled and dumped on top of a stool in front of the room's vanity. Marinette's blue bell eyes flitted to three people approaching her with brushes and makeup brushes.

"Stop! Just who are you people?!" They faltered in their movements at looked at each other in confusion before a familiar stoic male pushed his way through the crowd and into her view.

"Miss Cheng, you are required to meet your relatives today so these makeup artists and stylists were hired to prepare you for your meeting." He informed her rather calmly, causing her eye to twitch in annoyance at his level-headedness.

"You didn't tell me this before!" She squawked indignantly.

"It slipped my mind. My apologies." He replied with a shrug of his shoulders and Marinette felt the overwhelming urge wrap her hands around her neck before reigning in her thoughts and coming to the conclusion that her small fingers probably wouldn't be able to fit around his neck anyway.

She allowed herself to stay calm, slumping on her stool in defeat from losing control of the situation while everyone else ran rampage around to make her look impressive and beautiful.

This is going to be a long day. She thought as makeup brushes attacked her face.

Finally, the stylists and makeup artists stepped away from the tiny bluenette to admire their work.

And what a fine piece of art Marinette became.

Marinette could feel the heavy amounts of foundation on her head and pursed her lips at the sight of her freckle-free complexion in a full length mirror situated next to the vanity. Her skin was flawless, free from apparent blemishes and slightly glowing with a lighter paleness than her regular milky skin tone. Her eyes were outlined with black eyeliner, winging out into a cat eye with red complementing it, making her blue bell eyes appear brighter than before and her eyelids were shadowed with a glittery dusty red that thinned out across her eyelids and the corner of her eyes were dusted with a smoky grey. Her usually rosy pink lips were now painted a glossy red that wasn't too eye-catching but made her look mature and classy. Following the colour scheme of her makeup, the stylists picked out a gorgeous full length red cheongsam for her.

Marinette knew that red was the traditional colour for Chinese brides to wear for their wedding but didn't dwell on the meaning as she fangirled over the whole beauty of the designed. For the first time upon arriving in China, Marinette actually felt like the princess her parents claimed she was as she marveled over the silky fabric of the cheongsam and brainstormed designs in her head based off cheongsam and Chinese designs. The floral patterns added colour to her whole appearance, breaking away from the black and red shades used on her face, well placed sequins made a rainbow of lights bounce off of the dress and although the dress was pinched in a mermaid dress-like fashion, she could move around comfortably in the cheongsam. Finally, the way her hair was styled completed her overall look of elegance. The dark-haired beauty's bangs were braided away from her face and tucked into a spiraling bun at the back of her head and a wreath of small red and white flowers surrounded her bun and was also placed into her braid

Her breath hitched. She looked like a Chinese Ladybug incarnate but still managed to look like Marinette at the same time.

Marinette was absolutely breathtaking.

The makeup artists and stylists were now beginning to pack up their equipment with endearing smiles on their faces upon looking at the astonished bluenette staring at her reflection.

Is this really me? She thought internally, the noises around her fading into white noise as she unconsciously raised her hand to her face. Marinette was snapped out of her reverie as a firm hand gripped her shoulder.

"Mademoiselle Cheng, we should really be going now." Jiānhùrén briskly informed her and she nodded in reply, shrugging off his hand on her shoulder to look for her purse and a familiar flash of red. Marinette looked through the bedside drawers and finally found Tikki residing in the bottom drawer seeming perfectly fine despite the sudden appearance of the crowd in her room. Marinette whisked Tikki into her purse and clamped it shut, quickly bowing her thanks to everyone in the room then nodding to Jiānhùrén again and left her hotel room with him in the lead and silently praying that her door would be locked once the group of makeup artists and stylists left her room.

Once again, as if by magic, the front of the front of the hotel was completely swarming with reporters and news vehicles, luckily barricaded by extra security guards and red ropes blocking reporters from moving into the pathway to the sleek black limo at the end of the walkway.

Once again, as Marinette and her bodyguard stepped out of the hotel with Jiānhùrén shielding her with his huge frame, Marinette covered her face from the expected flashes of cameras. The flashes came and they seemed brighter in the light of dawn and Marinette was thankful for covering her face, preventing herself from becoming blind from the brightness. Maybe she felt some sort of embarrassment in having her face known by the majority of China or maybe she just had stage fright, either way, she would not allow the photographers to get a glimpse of her face until her relatives had seen her.

Marinette ignored the questions the reporters fired at her and only kept her gaze on her strides, focusing on only getting into the safety of the limo. Finally reaching the limo, Jiānhùrén opened the car door for her and shielded her back as she got into the seat, closing the door after she got comfortable and then proceeded seated himself in the front seats next to the driver after closing her door. And so, quick instructions on where to go given to the driver from Jiānhùrén, the limo speeded off, heading to the arranged location for meeting Marinette's royal relatives.

What could possibly go wrong?

Meanwhile in Paris...
Alya woke to the sound of her phone buzzing on her bedside table and reached over to check it.

She kept her news notifications on because really, what kind of journalist would she be if she wasn't caught up on the world's biggest news stories?

Alya clicked on the newest article. It came from China, specifically, it was set at a hotel in Beijing.

She frowned as the whole story was in Chinese but found relief as there was a translation option and immediately clicked for the French translation and began to skim over the contents.

CHINA'S NEW RULER?
The royal family of China has released new information on another family member joining its rank.

Reporters have quickly looked into it and went to the proclaimed hotel where the princess would be staying. She is said to be residing in the Legendale Hotel in Beijing but nothing can be confirmed although reporters are quite suspicious upon the arrival of a dark haired girl accompanied by an extremely tall and well built bodyguard.

Unfortunately the press were not able to acquire a decent photo of the suspected princess's face as she hid behind her bodyguard and hands.

This morning though, the same girl with the same bodyguard came out of the hotel, with the suspected princess looking absolutely gorgeous and yet reporters were still unable to get a picture of her exact features.

The girl was dressed very elegantly and the epitome of royalty.

Could this mystery girl be China's new princess?

Alya's eyes observed the photos given in the article and as it said, the girl had her face completely covered by her hands.

This was actually pretty interesting. China having a long lost princess? Definitely worth looking into.

In the morning of course.

As she closed her eyes to continue sleeping, Alya couldn't shake the feeling that she had somehow seen those familiar dark tresses the presumed princess had.

[A.N: 2016 IS DEAD FINALLY!

Happy New Year everybody and I hope 2017 isn't a complete bitch to us

EDIT: I just made the stupidest mistake ever with this chapter because Paris and Beijing are 7 hours apart?? And I wrote it like it was 12 hours apart. It's currently 5:28am for Marinette and Alya is 10:28pm]
