"Even for a little bit, I would like to touch that thing called happiness."

Throughout Jungkook's life, every path has taught him something new.

Tying his shoelaces was the first lesson it taught him. Having grown up as an orphan, you seldom get to learn from other people.

It looks like life decided to teach him everything on its own.

Hope was the next lesson he learned from it. It is a strange concept to teach, but it is also a fascinating concept to grasp.

A lesson he learned was never to give up hope. No matter how bad the situation might seem. Regardless of how defeated, you may feel, because they believe. Even one hope can illuminate thousands of lamps. However, this can only happen if you keep your hope up.

During his childhood, he had hoped for many things. But more than anything else, he hoped for a family. A family with whom he could laugh. One who would let him do whatever he wanted. With whom he could spend his holidays. And most importantly, with whom he could spend Christmas. To him, it was like a treasure trove. A family was like catching a glimpse of one of the rarest stars on earth.

Despite his age, he still remembers everything about his childhood. Sitting in the darkest corner of the bathroom amid silent crying. The dark was like a rocky landscape to him.

He remembered how his body buzzed in anticipation whenever one of the orphanage's caregivers would tell them about the guest who would adopt one of them. The feeling seemed strange to him at the time. It is as if his heart beats frantically while he meticulously maintains a clean and presentable appearance.

However, disappointment comes along with hope. An unpleasant feeling to deal with and a difficult lesson to learn. He had already been taught and learned so many lessons. This one is the one where he always fails with a perfect zero. A feeling of disappointment is difficult to handle. The disappointment was the feeling he always felt whenever outside guests always chose a child or children. It wasn't often, but it happened occasionally. However, he wasn't one of the people involved. Not him was fortunate enough to get adopted. And not him was it who got lucky to call someone his family.

His heart was used to rejection since he had to deal with it every time. Yet rejection still hurts as much as it did before. Likewise, he remembers how he used to sit by the window with an old rabbit plush, which he tightly hugged as tears ran down his big doe eyes. Wishing that the unpleasant feeling would soon disappear from his chest.

the remaining years went like little petals leaving their dandelion bud, they leave behind the old to embark on an exciting new path. He wasn't even aware when he reached 18 years of age, which was the age when he was forced to leave the orphanage. It was, to say the least, a heartbreaking experience. The most important part of his life was still there, even though he didn't have the best memory.

As an 18-year-old, Jungkook was thrown into the real world with nothing more than a bag of clothes, books, a rabbit plush on his arms, and an overwhelming feeling running through his veins.

WARNINGS:-
Mention of Blood.
Mention of death.

Even though it sounds rude, the truth is that Jungkook didn't like winters. He despises winters from the bottom of his heart.

Because winters are the ones that make him feel lonely, he knows that he should get used to it now. But it still stings when you see everyone bundle up with their partners in their warm houses while you just work on those cold nights, too, when it's nearly impossible.

But for the first time, Jungkook embraces the cold without any hesitation. Not by his choice, of course. His luck is bad that he had to get shot when he left his house to get some ramen from the small store down the road.

Or it's his fault for losing his one and only job. It's his fault that he had ignored his guts which were telling him that something was off when he exited the convenience store. It was his fault that he didn't notice the eyes watching him from afar. It's his fault-

A sob caught in his throat as he kept lying on the frigid floor with a knife wound in his stomach. His whole body was catching up with the cold. He can't even lift his finger. Tears were still sliding down his now cold cheeks. Everything hurts. His head. His eyes. The wounded area was on his stomach. It hurt that he couldn't even voice out anything from his mouth.

His eyes started dropping a little when something cold hit his cheek. He blinked his eyes several times to get rid of the haziness. Oh. It's snowing. What a surprise.

His blue freezing lips stretched into a tiny smile. Well, at least he got a stroke of luck to behold this beautiful site with his own eyes. Even though it's his last moment, and after this, he will not be in this anymore. His only regret is that he could not solve his petty argument with yugyeom.

"I am sorry, Yugi. I am really sorry."

With one smile playing on his lips and a small snowflake landing in the middle of his forehead, he closes his eyes and lets the dark tenderly engulfs his small, fragile heart. One last lone tear left his eye before everything got blank.

The two men who were hiding in the shadows stepped out as they watched life leaving jungkook body.

One of them hurriedly ran towards jungkook with furrowed eyebrows and unshed tears in his eyes. While the others just stand there, too scared to get close. Scared that he might break if he saw the face of the young selfless boy who did not have any fault in this dilemma but still faced the consequences.

The man gently cradled jungkook cold face with his warm hands as if jungkook would show any sign of life. But to no avail. There was no pulse. He took a shuddered breath so he won't cry.

"...He is not anymore..." The man said as he hugged jungkook to his chest while trying to control his breathing.

The man standing not far away from them feels something crack in his heart. He gulped harshly so his voice won't come out broken.

"Let's just leave from here quickly, jin."

The man name jin sniffed as he nodded. He gently unattached jungkook body away from his own. His lips wobbled as he took the young features of the boy lying dead in his arms.

He pressed a small kiss on his forehead before whispering slowly so only he could hear him, even though it was impossible.

"Everything will gonna be fine now, Darling."

And there was blinding light before everything vanished. Now there is a body. No blood on the hard floor, and there was no man. There was nothing.

It was just a simple dingy alley with a large trashcan on the corner of it and a broken lamp on the side.

Just like that, everything vanished from before.
