Chapter 15

Misty's POV

"Hey Misty! Try some of this ramen!" Ash exclaimed happily and held out the bowl to me but I declined politely.

"You should get May to have some of that." I told him but he continued to rant about the ramen he was eating.

I smiled at his attitude as he talked about what his favourite food was and how much he loved his horse that he owned at the stables in the kingdom.

"Why don't we go to the ice cream parlour?" He asked me and I shook my head.

"Sorry, I'm full." I apologised and rubbed my stomach to show that I was stuffed.

"Please Misty!!" The raven haired boy begged and I repeatedly shook my head. "Think about it! The vanilla, mango, chocolate, strawberry, cookie doe...." he continued to list a bunch of ice cream flavours.

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"Please?"

"I said NO!"

He let out fake tears and began sobbing as he clasped his hands together and kneeled in front of me on the picnic mat we were currently sitting on. He began bowing to me to the point it became embarrassing. He continuously pleaded but I kept on declining. I slowly started to get irritated as he wouldn't shut up. Before I could say anything rude, his hands were on my shoulders and he was shaking me violently.

"Come on Misty!" He yelled at me and I shrunk down slightly. "We have to go!"

He didn't stop shaking me and I started getting a headache from this whole situation.

"Would you quit it!" I retorted in annoyance and banged my head on his.

"Ouch!" He shrieked in pain but I sat up in confusion.

This voice was more feminine than Ash's although he already sounded like a girl. Then I realised that I was no longer on the checkered picnic mat, but on my own bed. I glanced over at the ground and clasped a hand over my mouth. Dawn sat on the ground with her hand on her head and she looked in pain.

"What were you dreaming about that made you do that!?" She yelled at me and I stared at her guiltily.

"Sorry." I apologised to my friend who sighed as she looked at my forehead as well which was now feeling painful.

I rested my head on my pillow and thought back to the dream. So it was just a dream. But why was I dreaming of the prince?

"Misty? Are you listening to me?" Dawn questioned, clicking a finger in front of my face, snapping me out of my daze.

"Uh yeah." I said causing Dawn to shake her head.

"Come with me downstairs." She demanded.

"Alright, alright." I replied.

Before I could move anywhere, Dawn had already grabbed me by my shirt collar and had begun pulling me out of my bed.

"I'm going to get hurt like this." I complained to Dawn who huffed and continued to drag me mercilessly down the wooden staircase which creaked under our weight.

After what felt like ages, she finally released me and allowed me to stand up on my own. As I stood I winced as I felt a few bruises forming where I had been dragged from down the stairs. I dusted my clothes and glanced over in irritation to Dawn who was hurriedly speaking with the other girls.

"Ms Greenfield woke us up this morning because of something she heard." Dawn explained to me as she turned away from the other two causing my mood to shift.

Leaf and May looked just as confused as I probably looked now and we all just stood in silence as we waited. I let all memories of what happened this morning slip my mind before concentrating on the situation.

All of a sudden, there was stomping from upstairs which caused the four of us to look at the top of the staircase. Soon a panicked Ms Greenfield appeared from the top where Dawn had just dragged me. She looked around frantically before rushing down the stairs and heading towards us.

"You girls must get out. Now!" She demanded and began shoving us without warning.

She pushed us with such force that a few of us stumbled slightly before regaining our footing and continued being pushed away.

"Wait, why!?" Leaf asked in confusion but Ms Greenfield ignored the question and continued to shove us hurriedly towards the doorway.

"Please explain!" Dawn begged the woman but was also ignored.

I instantly placed my hands on the old woman's shoulders to stop her movements completely, causing her to look up at me. I think the interaction calmed her down slightly although her eyes were wide and panicked and her gaze was darting from one place to another.

"What's wrong?" I questioned with a serious tone to make sure she would listen and I sighed in relief as that proved successful.

"There's not enough time to explain....all I need you to do is get changed and then pack your weapons and a couple of belongings. Then I will explain to you. Probably..." She said in a calmer tone but her voice was still laced with stress as she ushered us back upstairs leaving us all in a confused state.

"What do you think that was all about?" Dawn questioned as soon we were out of ear range.

"Never mind that. Let's just do what she asked us so we can get an explanation as soon as possible." I told the other three who glanced at each other before nodding.

We instantly ran back upstairs and rapidly did as Ms Greenfield asked. As I was walking back downstairs with my fully packed bag, I heard commotion from outside. Just as I was about to draw open the blinds that shielded the windows from sunlight, a hand slapped mine away from the blinds that were about to be drawn back.

"Don't." Ms Greenfield demanded carefully.

She didn't have her usual calm demeanour today. Instead her wrinkles were showing clearly and her eyebrows were scrunched up into a frown. If this woman weren't so old and fragile, I would've snapped back after she'd slapped my hands away. She stared at me for a few more moments with a steady gaze before letting out a breath as though she had been holding it in the whole time. Her face held an expression of worry has she lowered her hands from my own.

"Are all the girls ready yet?" She questioned with the calm tone that I had gotten used to.

"Not yet. They take a bit longer to pack their things." I explained and she nodded before sitting on a chair with her hands clasped together and head down.

I sighed before joining her by taking a seat in front of her on the sofa. I could hear the constant thumping of footsteps on the bare wooden ground upstairs where the other three girls were causing a racket as they looked for their things.

I heard them arguing over belongings and yelling at each other before the commotion finally resided and the three came tumbling down the stairs in a fit of groans. I chuckled at their childish habits before standing up and hurrying over to them. Letting them clutch onto my arms, I hauled my three friends to their feet before dusting myself off and heading back over to Ms Greenfield who now had amusement glistening in her eyes.

The unusual panic in her expression had faded back to her calm self that we had gotten so used to over the past few weeks of our stay here. As we settled back down onto the sofa, we stared at Ms Greenfield expectantly who sighed and looked at each of us individually.

"I don't have much time to explain so I'll have to make this quick. Misty, you know of the noises you heard outside a few moments ago? Those were people running around in panic." She began and I widened my eyes.

What would cause such an uproar this early in the morning?

"Early this morning, I was walking through the corridor upstairs and went to check through the window." She continued while speaking quickly. "There I saw something that this village has never encountered before. An army of tens of thousands of soldiers were flooding the horizon, torch light illuminating the darkness as they approached from far away." She explained.

I felt myself gulp and someone gasp as we listened to her story.

"It was then I realised that I had to get you four out of here as soon as possible. I need you girls to get out through-" Before she could finish, she was interrupted by an earsplitting screech from outside and the commotion became louder than it already was.

"What was that?" May asked worriedly and began to approach the window before she could reach the blinds, Ms Greenfield immediately stood up and pulled her away.

"If you get spotted through the window, you'll get caught as well." She warned May but May snatched her hand away and looked at Ms Greenfield apologetically.

"I'm sorry, but there are people out there who need our help and the girls and I can do that." She stated and the rest of us stood up and nodded in agreement.

"But you have to get out!" She exclaimed in panic and clutches on tightly to Leaf's arm as she attempted to exit through the front door.

"Helping people is what's right. They're in danger out there and we can't let anyone get killed in this kingdom. We don't want it to turn out how it did back when our kingdoms were overthrown." Leaf explained and placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "We'll be fine."

"I promise you, we will be alright." Dawn said and flashed her a warm grin.

"You just focus on getting yourself out of this place. We'll protect everyone else and fend off the soldiers you told us about." I assured her and urged her to the back door where she would have better luck escaping from. "Stay safe."

"You girls... you are all so reckless. But that's admirable. I will not forget you. Thank you for your kindness towards us townspeople." She thanked us with a bright smile as she finally gave in.

"And we thank you for your kindness and hospitality for us. It was nice meeting you and living with you." May said and hugged the woman abruptly before standing beside Leaf who was positioned beside the front doorway.

"We won't let you down." Leaf spoke up and we all bid farewell to the old woman who had given us a home even if it was for a short time.

"Now we have a job to do." I announced and pushed open the door to see smoke clouding my vision and screaming echoing throughout the whole town.

I glanced at the girls who were looking at the situation in horror.

A horn blew followed by the storming of dozens of footsteps. That's when I realised.

This was only the beginning.

BY THE WAY, THIS CHAPTER WAS REALLY POORLY WRITTEN... IM SORRY ABOUT THAT! I PROMISE I'LL TRY TO WRITE BETTER FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER!

I'm also going to update my other book soon as well so do not worry if you read that one as well. I really want to publish something about Fairy Tail but then again I still have to finish writing my other books.

By the way, I love the Norgami Intros to be honest, they're my favourite behind all the Pokémon and Fairytail intros. They're so catchy. Plus I'm trying to learn the Noragami Aragoto opening on the piano but it's so hard to do... i already know some Pokémon songs on the piano like the Littleroot Town and a bit of the Oldale City themes.

Next chapter will come soon, do not worry!
