Chapter 21

Percy gripped Annabeth's hand tighter. He didn't want to let go of her hand. Ever. The day had come –the day they would either kill the titans or be killed themselves.

It was dark outside, about an hour before sunrise. They were all inside standing on the terrace of the palace. The entire palace was under lockdown and the cavalry was outside. Thousands of archers were standing just behind the walls of the terrace to execute the first part of the plan. It was a simple but genius plan made by Annabeth.

Soon the sun was up in the sky and the war begun. The army of the Titans rushed forward in horses and some were on foot as well. When they came close to the palace, the archers got to work. All the archers shot their arrows. But all the arrows were connected to a huge cloth, big enough to cover the entire palace. The cloth was pierced by the sharper end of the arrow through the cloth. The night before the cloth had been dipped gasoline. The archers shot the arrows not to kill the enemy but to cover the majority of the army. The cloth went flying and covered a large part of the army.  Then, one of the archers released an arrow which was on fire.

The arrow hit the cloth and the cloth was on fire, the flames high enough to reach the sky. Percy turned his head to see Annabeth smiling to see that her plan had worked. The Olympians cheered as hundreds of soldiers burnt from the enemy side without a single causality from their side and congratulated Annabeth. Meanwhile, Percy was grinning from ear to ear and telling all the archers that it was his wife who had come up with it, until a red-faced Annabeth had to tell him to shut up and not embarrass her any further. Percy just smirked and gave her a long kiss not caring about the fact that literally everybody was watching them. He then left to put his armor on for the battle leaving an even redder-faced Annabeth, if that was possible.
