Chapter 13
Sorry for the huuuuuge wait. My final exams were going on and I couldn't post much on Wattpad but I'm back! I also made a banner for the book !
*Present Day*
"You know Perseus, Annabeth too knows sword fighting. How about you both go to the arena and spar?" Poseidon asked
Percy bit his lip to stop smiling at his dad's pathetic attempt to make him and Annabeth talk.
"Sure, but honestly dad, all Annabeth does is spend the entire day is today in the library. Why are all the girls like that? Mum spends her time in the kitchen and Calypso used to spend her time in the Royal Gardens."
Percy thanked the gods that the bride his father had chosen before Annabeth was Calypso and not some snooty princess. Calypso was a sweet girl and they had instantly become friends. Calypso too did not want to marry Percy as she had a boy back at her kingdom named Leo. They both staged a huge fight and the alliance was broken. Percy did not know how he would have handled a stuck up princess.
Percy hurried towards the library and went in to find Annabeth reading a book in one corner of the room. He watched as one strand of her hair fell out of her bun and she tucked it behind her ear. The gesture made Percy smile like a love-sick puppy. Percy quietly snuck up behind her and decided to scare her.
"Bhooo!" Percy shouted.
Without a second's hesitation, Annabeth whirled around and hit him smack in the face with the huge book that she had been reading.
"Owww! What the hell Annabeth? How is your first reaction to hit someone with a book and not scream? I thought all the princesses knew was to scream."
"Perseus Jackson, do you want another smack on the head?" Anabeth demanded. "Never call princesses weak."
Percy held his hands up in surrender.
"I was just joking. I wanted to check if you want to spar? My dad thinks that sword fighting will help reduce the supposed 'hatred' between us."
Annabeth nodded smiling. "I suppose that is how our 'hatred' will be washed away then."
*15 minutes later*
"Your armour is crooked, seaweed brain. Honestly, I don't know how you are the best fighter in camp," Annabeth said exasperatedly.
Percy looked good in the armour although it was crooked. Everytime Annabeth saw him it seemed as though Percy was looking beter and better, or was that only her imagination? Annabeth didn't know anymore.
Suddenly, Percy froze.
"Annabeth, our parents are here. Don't look around. They are trying to look at us through binoculars and are doing a horrible job of staying hidden."
"You ae telling me that Queen Athena Minerva Chase, my mother and the most strict and regal person in all the 12 Olympian cities, is standing behind us, wearing binoculars?" Annabeth asked incredulously.
Percy nodded, solemnly which caused Annabeth to giggle at the image of her mother in a gown trying to squat and see through the binoculars.
"Well then, let them think that we have become good friends after the match."
Percy nodded and winked at her which made Annabeth blush. Gah! Even after several years, Percy could still make Annabeth blush by a simple wink.
Meanwhile, Athena and Poseidon watched with astonishment and awe as their kids fought. The two of them fighting looked like a dance- fluid, synchronised and coordinated.
Little did they know that Percy and Annabeth had been fighting together since they were no more than seven years old.
The match ended with Percy winning. Annabeth and Percy shook hands and started acting as if they were starting to become friends.
Seeing this Poseidon and Athena looked at each other and smiled. The prophecy was finally coming true!
