Success?
Things had already been rocky these past 6 weeks. Blaise and Hermione had argued a few times. Both being hot headed and wanting to be right. Pansy and Dean argued because of how many ex's Dean had and most of them where in Gryffindor. So Pansy was somewhat insecure about that. It took a rather detailed explanation of Dean's everyday routine for her to be reassured. Neville and Seamus, along with Draco and Harry seemed to be the only couples without any problems. That was until Harry and Neville walked into their dorm room with a rather teary eyed Seamus. Harry frowned and looked at Neville. Who instinctively wanted to comfort his boyfriend. Neville went over to Seamus and tired to hug him. Seamus pushed him away and shook his head.
"Seamus what's wrong?" Harry asked sitting between Neville and Seamus.
"Ask your best friend." Seamus snorted.
"But I don't know..."
Seamus cut Neville off with a glare. "Oh don't play stupid. You've been seeing someone else behind my back. Don't even deny it."
Harry frowned. "Nev?"
Neville shrugged. "I don't know what gave him that idea. I don't even hang out with anyone besides you guys."
"Then how would you explain the rose I found on your bed?!" Seamus roared.
Harry went stiff. He thought he threw that damn thing away. Did Neville take it. He turned a questioning look to Neville. Neville shrugged again before shaking his head. Indicating he had no idea what Seamus meant.
"You can't say it wasn't for you." Seamus continued. "It was your favorite colour. It was on your bed!"
"Seamus I really have no idea what you are talking about." Neville sighed.
"Because I BURNED it! I threw it in the fire." Seamus cried out still refusing to look at Neville.
Harry sighed. "Maybe that was meant for me and whoever it was got the beds mixed. Was it purple?"
Seamus shook his head. "It was blue. A pale blue. Just like Neville's favorite colour."
Neville stood and crouched in front of Seamus. "Believe me. I only care about you. No one else. I would never do that to you."
"Prove it." Seamus said.
Neville smiled and adjusted his position. "I know we're still young technically. But Seamus will you... you know... marry me?"
Harry took that as his cue to leave. He walked over to his bed and checked the trashcan. The rose from earlier was still there. He sighed and laid down closing his curtains. Seamus stared at Neville like he had grown an extra head. He blinked a few times.
"Ask me again at Christmas." He whispered.
Neville nodded. "At Christmas then."
He stood up. The smile never leaving his face. He kissed Seamus on the cheek then pulled him into a hug. Seamus didn't protest. He hugged Neville back and sighed. He wondered vaguely if maybe he was over reacting. He shook his head lightly before pulling away from Neville. Neville watched him carefully.
"I'm sorry. I jumped to conclusions because of something someone said." Seamus said.
Neville hugged Seamus and kissed him. "It's okay. But just promise you will come to me first next time."
Seamus nodded. They said their "goodnight" s and went to bed. Harry was still awake. He laid in bed wondering about the rose. Clearly someone was trying to get him to keep it. If they brought a second one as well. He didn't know how or why but he knew it was meant for him. He had this nagging feeling about it since he saw the rose on his bed. Something telling him it was bad news. This feeling he got when he knew something bad was going to happen. A pit in his stomach. He's been trying to ignore it and brush it off. Because why would anything bad happen when the two worst wizards and their followers were gone.
*~*
Draco smiled when he saw the red rose laying in the middle of his bed. His first thoughts went to Harry and the run-around during Christmas the year before. He gently picked up the rose. Placing it on his desk as he got ready for bed. Today was a good day for him. The memories flashed through his mind and he blushed. He looked at the rose again. Harry was definitely the type to be all cheesy and a helpless romantic. It was one of the reasons Draco loved him.
Draco picked up the rose and smelled it. It smelled... like Harry? Draco frowned a bit. 'Why wouldn't it smell like a rose?' He wondered. Slowly it started piecing together. Unfortunately it wasn't piecing fast enough. Just as Draco was about to throw the rose away Crabbe burst through the door. Draco was startled and instinctively clenched his hands ready to act. Except he still had the rose in his hand. Draco hissed in pain as two of the thorns tore through his skin. Crabbe smiled mischievously to himself as Draco nursed the two small cuts. One on his palm and the other on his ring finger.
The problem he now unknowingly faced was two fold. He had pierced his left hand so that provided the incantations with more grip. Since a person's left hand, ring finger has a direct connection to their heart. Let's just say you wouldn't want a love potion entering your system that way. Where it has full access to your heart. Especially not an illegal, and altered love potion.
Draco felt sick almost instantly. The potion working in his system as his magic tried to fight it off. He groaned, feeling like he wanted to puke, as he crawled onto his bed. He curled into the fetal position and promptly fell asleep. His dreams plagued with fading memories and blank faces. Feeling alone and secluded. He was drenched in a cold sweat.
Blaise woke him up the next morning. He decided he was going to skip the day. He wasn't up to going to classes. Something was missing and he didn't know what. He sighed as he dragged himself to the shower. Under the icy water his skin felt like fire. He just stood there for what felt like hours, before he got out and shrugged on some baggy clothes. He had no idea where he had gotten the clothes from, but they suited his mood so he didn't care. After that he climbed back into bed.
"Hey Draco everything okay?"
Draco lifted his head. "Better now that you're here."
"I'm glad. You look like you've got a fever."
Draco shrugged. "I feel like it."
"So you're not going to classes then?" Draco shook his head. "Would you like me to stay with you?"
"I would love that. Thank you." Draco smiled.
The person made their way over to Draco's bed. Swiftly making themselves comfortable as Draco curled up next to them. Draco wrapped his arm around the person's waist and sighed. Something was still missing, but he figured this person would be able to fill that space.
"Draco?"
"Mmmh?"
"Blaise won't like that I'm here."
Draco frowned not opening his eyes. "Then fuck Blaise. He needs to let me be happy."
The person grinned. Arms wrapped around Draco's waist and pulled him closer. Draco sighed and drifted back to sleep snuggled close to the person.
*~*
"What is wrong with you?!" The voice wasn't heard.
A glass barrier separated two people from one. It seemed to be sound proofed. The single person banged on the glass hoping to get the attention of the other two. Nothing happened. The glass didn't even move.
"Stop it! What are you doing!?" The voice yelled.
Still the person wasn't heard by the others. The person banged and yelled to no avail. Soon they started crying. They fell to their knees and sobbed helplessly. It was as if they were tied up. The divider making their part smaller with each second.
"Please. You're not yourself. Please you can't do this to Harry!" The cry came as tired sobs.
One of the other people looked directly at the person then returned to what they were doing. The cries of protest never quieting. It was followed by banging. The actions of someone desperate and trapped.
"Harry love I'm so sorry forgive me. I don't know what I'm doing." The statement was followed by sobs.

"Hey Blaise where's Dray?"
Blaise smiled sadly. "He wasn't feeling well wanted to stay in bed. I'm going to madam Pomfey later for a pepper up potion for him later."
"Oh okay. Thank you. Think I can see him?"
Blaise shrugged. "Maybe tomorrow Harry. Let him rest."
Harry nodded and went to his next class. He didn't share it with the Slytherins. Most times he didn't mind being in Charms it was one class out of everything thing else when he wasn't sitting next to Draco. However Draco was M.I.A today and he was worried. He decided to skip Charms and every other class he had after. Sure that came with it's own complications and troubles. But he decided that, Either he was going to the Slytherin dorms and got in trouble more trouble or he went somewhere else. He hesitated in the middle of the hall. Looking down both directions he realized he had two options. Turn right he would be on his way to the Slytherin common room and that much closer to Draco. Turn left he would be on his way out of the castle on on his way towards the forbidden forest. He lingered a moment longer before making up his mind and speed walking down the corridor. Classes didn't matter to him now. The amount of trouble he would get in didn't matter either. He couldn't think straight while he was worried about Draco. There was only one thing he could think of that would put his mind at ease. He sighed as he allowed his thoughts to run wild. Keeping his head down to draw as little attention to himself as possible.
