Solving Problems

Draco Malfoy, the mean scary boy who always sneers? Harry Potter, the kind hearted boy who always wants to help? What happened to them none of their friends could figure out. Sure they understood Harry was hurting because he saw Draco and Theodore kissing. But wasn't Draco also hurting? It really wasn't his fault since he had no control of his body. But neither was this Harry's fault. Since he had no control over his emotions. He just felt pure anger and he had no idea why.

So here he was growling at his Professor. Severus Snape just rolled his eyes as he waited for Neville to return. Nothing was said as Harry tried to break his binds. Neville walked over to him and sat down grabbing his hand as an anchor. Then Snape stepped forward.

He invaded Harry's mind in search of the thing messing with his emotions. Harry having kicked him out numerous times. Snape shook his head and sighed. He threw a spell at Harry before forcing a potion down his throat. Invading his mind once again.

A figure was curled up on a bench just staring at nothing. It didn't move or make a sound. A bat approached it and simply sat down. The figures head turned.

"P... Professor?"

"Harry. Where is that god awful soul?"

"What?" Harry blinked.

"I take it from your reaction that you know not of your current situation." Harry frowned. "That night you lost your parents you were made into a horcrux."

"Is that why I'm trapped here?"

Snape frowned. "Trapped?"

Harry sat properly. "I haven't been able to... well I don't mean anything that comes out of my mouth and I can't stop it. I hurt Dray."

"I see. Well that makes more sense. Now point me in the direction of whatever doesn't feel like you."

As if on cue a second Harry appeared. Except it wasn't Harry. The lighting bolt was there. His messy mop of hair. And his big goofy glasses. But the glasses would not stay put. Snape observed this intruder closely. Yes it looked like Harry but a very poor copy. If he had to compare he would say it was simply Voldemort wearing a wig. In reality that was exactly the case. The eyes were red, pupils like slits and he had no nose. His teeth were rather crooked. Ears pressed flat against his head.

"Harry, Neville is holding onto your hand as a grounding party. Since I couldn't get you to let Draco be there. Concentrate on Neville's hand. Go."

The real Harry nodded and weaved through his mind. Leaving his Professor and the impostor at the very core. He was scared but he trusted Snape a lot more than anyone would have thought.

"Right then. Now."

Neville looked at his mumbling Professor. He felt Harry's hand close around his and Harry's magic reach out. He braced himself for the pull that was to come. And then it happened. Neville gasped out feeling like his soul was being ripped from his body. In a flash Snape sprung to action. Harry yelled out in pain. It was all over almost immediately as it started.

Snape walked over to his cabinet handing the two boys two vials each. They took it willingly. He made his way to the door and opened it for the others. Upon seeing Draco, Harry had a mix of emotions. He was really upset for hurting Draco but wasn't it Draco who hurt him first. And Draco never apologized. Not that Harry didn't know he never gave Draco a chance. His stubborn streak kicked in as soon as he felt the magic bind lift.

"Thank you for that Sevy. But I'm still not ready to talk to Dray. I'll see you at lunch." Harry said as he tried to quickly leave.

Snape grabbed Harry and Draco by their collars. "I'm sick and tired of this silly cat and mouse thing you two have going on. You are forcing your friends to choose sides and I've had it."

Snape promptly tossed the two of them into the room connected to his class. He locked the door and cast several wards and charms. He put his wand away and dusted off his hands before seating himself in the chair behind his desk. Neville and Seamus smiled rather pleased. Then another fight broke out between Dean and Blaise, and Pansy and Hermione.

"Harry doesn't deserve that." Pansy complained.

"Please Harry is being a right git. It's Draco who doesn't deserve it." Hermione frowned.

"I thought you guys were working together now?" Seamus asked.

"They were I don't understand Pansy's issue now." Blaise huffed out.

"Leave Pansy alone it's you guys with the issue." Dean frowned and glared at Blaise.

"Guys stop! What did you find out about the rose?" Neville urged trying to change the subject.

Hermione launched into an explanation of the spell that was used. Pansy explained how the potion was added to it for certain effects. They explained that they couldn't find out why it wasn't strong enough to hold Draco. Or how it got a hold of him in the first place. They discussed how he seemed to only be effected since everyone of them, save for Harry, had touched it. Then another argument started on who's theory was better.

"Enough!" Snape roared.

"Professor there's something I need to tell you. All of you actually." Neville said. "I don't think Harry was ever meant to catch Nott and Draco."

"Why?" Snape drawled.

Neville revealed a rose that was a dark purple. "The night Draco got sick. Earlier that day I saw Harry throwing this away."

Snape took the rose from Neville and examined it. "They will be staying in there until I feel it has been long enough. Then we will figure out how this spell traps the victim. You have one week to figure out how to reverse it's effects. You will be doing that together. Make sure you do it fast. And no more of this bickering both boys are in the wrong. And neither of them deserved any of this. Do I make myself clear?"

There was a chorus of "yes Professor", then Pansy and Hermione turned to one another. Snape prepared himself for another argument. Except Pansy and Hermione started talking about the best way to tackle the problem at hand.

Cho and Theodore were walking together and talking when they were stopped. Theodore raised an eyebrow at the person. The expression of anger on the person's face grew as a realization set in. Who other than Ginny would hate that two people are happy and in a relationship. Since she had made it her new mission to break up every couple she encountered.

"So what you two kiss and make up even though Nott is with Malfoy. That's cheating you know. Cho you're a home wrecker." Ginny spat.

"Weasley. We've decided we were in the wrong. I'm not with Draco anyway. The spell broke the second he laid eyes on Potter and he beat me to a pulp." Theodore sighed. "We're going to Mcgonagall if you wish to tag along."

Ginny snorted. "Useless! People in relationships are so stupid. You're going to get expelled."

Cho shrugged. "Then so be it."

Ginny laughed this time. "Oh your faces will be priceless. I think I will tag along after all."

The group of 3 made their way to the headmaster's office. Once inside Ginny made herself comfortable on the couch. The smug look on her face never leaving. Cho and Theodore just stood close to the headmaster's desk. Mcgonagall didn't say anything for a couple of minutes just observing the 3.

"We did something that we regret and felt we should come clean about it." Theodore finally said.

"I wasn't involved in any way whatsoever." Ginny added checking her nails.

She missed the disbelieving look Mcgonagall shot her. Theodore and Cho did, however, see the look Mcgonagall gave Ginny. Theodore repressed a smile as he started explaining what they had done. He told Mcgonagall about their unkind feelings towards Harry before explaining how Ginny approached each of them separately. Cho explained her part in the events after Theodore was done. Ginny strongly protested her involvement not expecting Mcgonagall to ask the question she did.

"Would you allow me to view your memories? My final judgment will be made off the collected information." Mcgonagall said as she stood.

Ginny's face went pale. She refused hoping Theodore and Cho would do the same. She reasoned that Mcgonagall wanted to alter their minds. Cho and Theodore however agreed and allowed Mcgonagall to view their unaltered memories.

"Theodore Nott and Cho Chang. I am very disappointed in the two of you. However, you have seen the error of your ways and came to me of your own free will. You will seve detention for the rest of the year as punishment and you will go directly to the people you have affected. You will make things right." Mcgonagall then turned to Ginny. "Miss Weasley, you are here by expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I expect you to be off the grounds before the day is up. And Miss Weasley be grateful you are not joining your horrid brother in Azkaban for use of an illegal potion. However, a word of advice, don't expect to be let off the hook. If Mr. Potter and Mr. Malfoy choose to press charges you may find yourself sharing a cell with Ronald Weasley. Dismissed."

Theodore took Cho's hand and left without another word. Ginny grumbled and stormed out of the office.

"Do we go straight to Potter and Draco?"

"Let's give it a week maybe. I don't think Harry wants to see you any time soon."

"Right. Okay."
