I peeked from the corner of my eyes as Ash and Ryder entered the cafe. As always Ash looked serious and Ryder well Ryder according to me, suffered from multiple personality disorders.

Sometimes he was hella serious and sometimes he was more joking and funny than Andrew and that was saying something.

Our table was overflowed.

We had Diya, Violet and me, the originals as I like to imagine,
then we had Sofia and Mason join us on this table
Then we were joined by Ash and Andrew.
After that, it had been Ryder.
Now my brother and even Aarav had made themselves comfortable here with us.

I mentally snickered thinking about this weird group.

"Mind if I sit here?" Ash's stern voice snapped me out of my trance.

Both mine and Nate's head whipped in his direction.

"Uh find some other place dude. I was sitting here first." Nate replied and started turning back.

Ash grabbed a handful of Nate's jacket in his fist.

I inhaled a breath.

"Remove your hand right now," Nate said slowly standing up.

I quickly got up and grabbed his sleeve.

"Nate no!" I said to him sternly.

I don't know why but something flashed in Ash's eyes.

His eyes accusingly traveled to mine and then towards Nate.

Oh...shit he thinks...Oh

As I realized my eyes widened.

"Oh no-no-no. No no Ash listen to me," I said in a hurry.

"He is my..." I was not able to finish the sentence as Nate had pulled me towards him in an abrupt motion and his eyes conveyed a message to me.

'Careful'

My identity had always been a secret and no one knew I was The Don's daughter here except for Mason and Diya.

Nate's hand was wrapped around my waist and everyone was watching the drama unfold.

Both Ash and Nate were glaring daggers at each other.

"Rose, be careful," Ash said to me with such proximity that I knew he was referring to Nate as the gangster's son.

'he doesn't know you are his sister.' Dunkers said in a huff folding his hands over his chest.

I ignored him.

I think Nate knew what Ash was referring to as well cause his eyes were as wide as me.

"Oh wait... I know you." Nate said so suddenly that I flinched on the inside.

"Do you Nate," Ash said venom flowing from his tone.

"Nate, how do you know Ash?" I asked my brother, eyes wide.

Ash just raised an eyebrow.

Nate pursued his lips in a tight line.

"Ash Wright I suggest you leave." Nate's voice was scary calm and low volumed. I was sure that only people who could hear were present on this table.

"I can say the same," Ash said taking a step towards him.

They were both equal in height and for the first time I noticed that both of them had the same body structure as well. As if hours of training was put into it, but not bulky, they were both lean and tall.

Nate took a step in his direction too.

And something snapped, I went and stood between both of them.

They both looked at me.

"Rose move. You don't know him." Both of them said in unison and growled.

They both said 'him' with so much anger that I flinched visibly this time.

Ignoring me they both took another step in each other's direction and now I was touching both their chests with my shoulder.

I felt so little in the middle of them.

Suddenly Ryder yanked Ash back. And I latched myself on to Nate's arm.

'Wrong move Rose.' Dunkers laughed a bucket of popcorn in his hands.

And soon I got the meaning behind Dunkers' words.

I was holding on to Nate's whole arm.

Ash's eyes widened, he swore and tried to get himself away from Ryder but Andrew had taken hold of him as well now.

He stopped and Nate, I think just to provoke him pulled me in a hug that hid me and my view of Ash, as if trying to protect me.

I was surprised and my body locked down, unable to understand how to move. Ash finally freed himself and walked out of the cafeteria.

Everyone was shocked.

I finally deciphered how to draw back and looked at Nate accusingly. He shrugged, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Way to go, Rose," Ryder sneered at me and left the cafe following the direction Ash had taken.

I weakly sat back down on my seat.
Nate started in the direction of the glass door and glass wall that allowed brilliant sunlight in the whole cafeteria.

"Nate, where the fuck are you going?" I growled at him and slammed my fist on the table.

Violet, Sofia and some people from the nearby tables flinched, Diya and Mason wore the same look of shock.

And Andrew looked at me as if seeing me for the first time.

"Don't worry Rosie, not going after your boyfriend. I have some business to take care of," he copied dad's nickname for me and with that he left in the opposite direction Ash had left.

I slumped in my seat and banged my head on the table twice and suddenly the whole Cafe started talking again.

Everyone was still quite on our table. I could feel all the eyes on me.

"You won't get away with this," Violet said breaking the silence so suddenly that I thought that she was threatening me.

"Uhh...I mean you will have to choose between Ash and Nate soon." she changed her sentence. I looked at her.

Mason and Sofia exchanged a look.

But Nate is my other half. He is my brother.

That won't ever happen.

"Rose, how does Nate know Ash?" Mason asked suddenly, everyone looked at him.

And me I just got up and left I was not in the mood for this.

I was underwater in the pool when I heard the faint sound of timer echo in the empty pool arena.

I had left all my friends and came straight here. It was empty and this period was free.

I had quickly changed into my swim gear and set the timer so that it would alert me when half the period was over.

I got out of the pool and went straight to the changing area.

I took a quick shower to get all the chlorinated water off me and changed quickly.

I was out of the place and halfway to the locker when the bell rang.

I hurried my steps and got my books and ran up to the chemistry lab.

I was late.

"Thank you for joining us miss wilder." the teacher tried to embarrass me but did I Care? No

I went to my seat which I shared with Andrew. We were covering inorganic right now it was super boring.

Andrew looked at me and gave me a sad smile.

I returned the smile back and sat next to him.

"Are you okay?" he asked in a whisper, worried.

"Mm-hm," I said nodding my head.

"Rose you need to stay away from Nate," he said genuinely worried.

I looked at him and my eyes widened, he had that look the look which said he knew.

Did he seriously know my brother was the son of The Don?

Sometimes people holding us kids responsible and at the same level as our parents hurt. We couldn't be held responsible for what they did.

My dad has many and many enemies I am well aware of that, that's why we are always careful not to reveal who we are.

My dad had murdered many leaders of other gangs and looted their ammunition and drugs and stuff. He always went after the bad guys but that was a path that created a lot of enemies and a lot of real friends as well.

His eyes widened seeing my eyes widen.

"You know something," he stated.

"You know something too," I bit out.

"I might know something," he stated.

"I might know something too," I said looking ahead at the board maintaining my poker face.

"What do you know?" he questioned.

I was obviously not gonna reply to that.

"First you," I said.

"Nate...Um....he isn't a normal person Rose," he said.

Oh, he knows alright.

"How can you say that," I asked keeping all the emotions clear off my face.

"You know," he gasped and whisper shouted at me.

And my facade was off.
