The ride to the Alderaan Estate was cold, smooth and quiet. Her mother and father soon learned that they couldn't afford to come along with her and the ride back.

So until her dowry hit she was alone. Sitting alone in her carriage, not even Maz could come with her.

She slept for a bit, read two books and then sketched some random ideas. She fell asleep as night fell. They would not stop for it being too cold and money was tight.

A knock on the door woke her up. "Miss ? We're here" she heard the driver say.

She yawned and smoothed out her skirts.The door opened and she took a deep breath, her new life was about to start.

His mother was here again. He really couldn't say anything because she was his mother and she had final say so in everything, being queen.

They were sitting at breakfast, coffee to his left, toast to his right. She was reading the morning paper as a servant came in and handed her a letter.

She grabbed the letter and tore it open, she was excited. He watched as she read over the paper happily her eyes growing wider.

"OH!" She said so loudly that he was startled. "They accepted ! She accepted!" She said squealing in delight.

"Who and what did they accept?" Ben asked over his coffee.

Duke Benjamin Skywalker-Solo of Alderaan, crowned Prince of Naboo was a unique man.

Most men ranged at 5'10 maybe 5'11 but Benjamin "Ben" Solo was 6'4, broad shouldered, dark haired and pale skin.

He was handsome, smart, and a wonderful rider and huntsman. And exquisite dancer and bachelor still at 29.

"The Morningstar's of Antilles ! Viscount Wedge and Viscountess Asoka, they have agreed to quadruple the sum of the reverse dowry for you to marry their daughter Audrey. She's very pretty, 19. It's a good thing she didn't get swooped up at 16 like most girls. She's incredibly smart and a talented artist, not to mention quite pretty" Leia smiled.

"Reverse dowry ?" He asked.

"Yes, it's more on them to marry their daughter off to you" she smiled joking at her son.

"Oh" he didn't know what else to say. Marriage ? All his close mates and men he already knew he wanted on his council when he was king were married. In fact some had children. Hux and Gwendoline had a daughter with hair red like her father named Millicent, or Milly as Uncle Ben called her. Jessika was pregnant with her and Poe's first child and Rose and Finn has just started really trying.

"It's in three days time. She'll be here in the afternoon so you better look presentable. And I'll be leaving the day after the wedding before the snow gets too bad" Leia said.

"Three days ?!" Ben exclaimed, what how we he suppose to get to know someone let alone marry in three days time.

"Yes, the preparations are all done, all that's left is to press your tuxedo and get the bridesmaid dresses fitted. As Finn, Armitage and Poe are your inner circle and gentlemen in waiting it seems only fit that Rose, Gwendoline and Jessika are her ladies and bridesmaids. The three grew up with Rey, although she was the youngest of them all" Leia explained as she poured some more fruit into her oatmeal.

"Where will she sleep? Where will-" he began then she interrupted.

"Yours and hers new quarters are being set up, and don't worry there will be a study for you and a drawing room for her, quite literally a drawing room as I already have set up some wonderful colored paints and charcoal from Tatooine sent up as a gift for her" Leia said.

She stepped out of the carriage, the cold biting at her cheeks and nipping at her hands, maybe they'll give her a pair of gloves.

She was nervous, teeth chattering from the cold and fears. She saw a woman with a long orange dress with a print, her hair was in a braided crown with a beautiful tiara with spessartine garnet, a lovely orange gem, in the crown. A deep burgundy cloak with a brown fur lining and dark leather gloves.

That was no doubt the queen.

Next to her was the Duke, Crowned Prince. He was tall, taller than any man she had ever seen. He was wearing a white button up shirt, dark black slacks with leather boots, leather gloves, a jacket and a long black cloak with black fur.

Rey immediately jealous of how warm they were. She wore just a grey shirt and grey top, flats, a jacket, scarf and muff.

"Viscountess Audrey !" The queen said and Rey walked to her future mother in law.

"It's wonderful to meet you your majesty" she said as she curtsied.

"And you too my dear, and don't worry about all the formalities, think of me as your mother now" she said and Rey stood up, the queen, who was barley 5'0 reached up and hugged the girl tightly. Like Maz used to.

"And this is my son Benjamin" she said releasing her and putting a hand on her son.

"Your highness" Rey curtsied.

"Welcome Lady Audrey" he said bowing his head.

"Wow I can feel the sparks" Leia said sarcastically and only Rose overheard and she quietly giggled.

"Let's get you inside, you must be freezing" the queen said. The queen grabbed her arm and led her into the warm estate.

She was in her temporary guest room, she was alone, a fire burning and the windows closed but blinds open.

A knock at the door turned her to face it "come in" she said.

"Rey !" Rose squealed and ran to her friend.

"Rose !" She said back and hugged her best friend tightly. "I missed you I haven't seen you since before you left for your wedding"

"I know, I know. But you're here now, and according to her majesty I am now your First Lady I'm waiting !" She said happily.

First Lady in waiting for the next queen of Naboo was a role many women wanted. It meant she went even higher in Station and she would be rewarded many lands, jewels and titles.

Women would scheme after one another, being fake to the mistress but Rey knew Rose wasn't like that. She was her best friend.
