We met long ago

A nice summer day

In a house filled with people

Filled with life

Filled with love

Not empty in the least bit.

He entered our family

He brightened our lives

This was what I saw

What I loved

What made me smile.

He was a hero

He served our country

He made my sister happy

He made us feel alive

He gave me Braden too

The nephew whom I love

And will always hold tight

In these trying times.
