They reached the elevator's control panel as Jyn clumsily pressed the button to open the doors to the lift, pulling Cassian in as soon as the doors hissed open.

She turned to face him as they leaned against the metal box, she had her arms around his neck as the lights flashed all around them and more explosions could be heard through the walls, but they noticed none of it.

All they could see was each other.

It hit him like a blaster bolt to the chest, how he felt about her. It had always been there but it could be seen only now because their mission was done.

He was inches away from her face now as he drew her closer.

Suddenly he could wait no longer as he crashed his lips into hers.

So long had it been due, but only now could they see it.

He mustered all of his remaining strength as he cupped her cheeks delicately, pulling away slowly only when he felt the lift slow down.

They just stared into each other's eyes, unable to speak, but their hearts beating in sync was enough of a statement in itself.

He saw it again, the light that he so loved to see in her eyes. Happiness. Joy. Whatever you want to call it, it was beautiful, almost as much as she was.

He stroked her cheek softly as the elevator came to an solid stop and the doors slip open quickly, allowing bright light to cut into their dreamlike state.

She gathered him on her shoulder again as they limped out of the elevator and through the blast doors of the main building, towards the beach.

They went by their comrade's slain bodies as the made their way towards the water, noticing the cyclopean moon in the sky as the walked.

The more pressing matter was the wall of cloud speeding towards them in almost slow motion as the drew to the water's edge.

They found themselves not caring that their deaths were only a few miles away, they had completed their mission.

That's what they thought as the fell to their knees in front of the blinding light coming towards them.

Cassian sat in the sand as Jyn sat next to him, looking at each other with no fear in their eyes, but peace.

"Your father would've been proud of you, Jyn." Cassian told her quietly, meaning every word. He knew he should say more, but he couldn't. There was no point. Whatever he felt, he was sure it was mutual.

Jyn smiled at him with sadness in her eyes as he grabbed her hand from her lap comfortingly, but wanted more as he pulled her into his arms.

He breathed in her scent as the light grew suddenly brighter, but the dust cloud had not yet reached him, its slowness actually aggravated Cassian.

They squinted their eyes shut as they felt  light engulf them, but they didn't feel any pain.

"Are you two going to just sit there hugging until you die? Or are you going to get on?" Jyn's eyes snapped open at the sound of K2's voice and her adrenaline gave one last spurt as Cassian hopped up with her to see a ship's ramp blocking the bright light of the impending explosion still heading that way.

She quickly dragged him onto the ramp screaming at K2 at the same time.

"We're on, go!! Close the ramp!" The ramp started to shut, but after the ship had already taken off and was speeding away from the wall of dust coming towards them.

As soon as the ramp was closed Cassian yelled, "Make the jump, now!", but K didn't need to be reminded of his own plan as the pair felt the ship lurch forward and into hyperspace.

It took them a moment to adjust to their surroundings. They were in an imperial ship, but what else was new?

K2 had saved them.

Wait K2 was dead.

Okie dokie so we've reached my actual fanfiction where I propose where Jyn and Cassian's future will go from here.

I'm excited.

Also apologetic.

I'm so sorry it took so long to finish the movie. I honestly kept not having time bc I had to have the movie pulled up at the same time as I was writing so I could have the script exactly right, and I only have the movie downloaded to my laptop, and I was never home to use my laptop.

But it's done now.

When I first finished I had all 3 of these chapters in one and it was 5,000 words so I think I've done pretty well.

FYI my point of view is changing. I've been doing 3rd person so I could keep both Cassian and Jyn and K2 in the loop of everything bc I wasn't being told their thoughts during the movie, but when I'm writing my own thing I can give these guys thoughts and stuff. So I will be moving to 1st person POV and I will be trading off between Cassian and Jyn and whom ever else I please.
