Chapter 19 - More Memories and Moving in?

Tw: Patton, Roman, and Virgil are a$$holes again, food, choking. Let me know if I missed any!

Logan's PoV

"Patton, I was wondering how you wanted this scene to play out in the script." I walked up to the moral trait who was humming to himself as he made breakfast. The opening scene was supposed to be between me and Patton, but I wasn't sure how he wanted to act it out. The scripts were minimum, relying mostly on improv. There was an opening scene and then the topic of the video. I researched and checked my knowledge on the topic, then stated the facts to the others based on their responses. Sometimes, Thomas and Roman would get inspiration to write a more detailed script depending on how the conversation during filming goes. All because they couldn't sit and listen to me long enough to write a full script beforehand.

Patton continued to hum and mix ingredients. I tapped his shoulder, "Patton."

"Good morning, Padre! What's for breakfast today?" Roman entered the kitchen in his usual dramatic way. Patton looked up and smiled.

"Good morning, Ro! I'm making pancakes before our big day of filming!"

"Again." I mumbled and turned to the coffee maker, setting the script down on the counter. I poured myself a cup of coffee and read over what script I did have. Of course, just as I was lifting the mug to drink, Roman bumped into me. I stiffened as hot coffee spilled onto my shirt and hand.

"Oh, I didn't see you there, Logan! Oh dear, you spilled coffee on Patton's jacket." Roman pointed at the jacket sitting on the counter that my coffee had slowly crawled towards.

"What? Oh no, Virgil made that for me!" Patton gasped and picked it up, studying the dark patch on the white fabric with a frown. "Logan, you need to be more careful!"

I stopped wiping my tie and shirt off, looking over at the two sides beside me. "Me? Roman is the one who bumped into me."

"Don't blame others for your mistakes." Patton grabbed some paper towels and began to rub the stain.

"I would like to point out that you shouldn't have left it there, Roman should've paid more attention to where he was going, and yes, I suppose I could've tried not to let it spill. But as you said, it was a mistake. It was an accident that can easily be fixed." They were too busy fussing over the stain now. I sighed and finished wiping the coffee off me. I wiped up the counter and threw the paper towels in the trash along with my wet script.

In a fresh shirt and tie, I stood in Thomas' living room and finished reciting my lines. Except Patton didn't continue as scripted. He frowned and hummed, shaking his head, "That's not how I wanted you to respond at all."

"Well, earlier I-"

"Thomas, I just got a wonderful idea!" Roman gasped and left his spot, grabbing the others scripts.

"You should've asked me before." Patton pouted, continuing the conversation from before the interruption.

"I tried. You ignored me until Roman said your jacket had coffee on it."

"You got coffee on my gift to Patton?" Virgil looked up from his phone with a slight glare pointed at me.

"Don't worry, I remembered what you said about stains! It's in the wash now, and it should be perfectly spotless!" Patton smiled at him but immediately frowned at me after. "You should've tried harder, and you really just want to blame everyone else today, huh?"

"Okay, we improved the script!" Thomas got up from the couch and clapped his hands together. Roman hopped up and passed them out, handing one to me as well.

"You're lucky I always print extras." Roman commented before walking back to his spot in front of the TV. "Make sense, guys?"

"I love it, Ro!" Patton nodded and grinned.

"Ready then?" Thomas glanced around at the others.

"Thomas," I caught his attention much easier than Patton's, "I know how important deadlines are, more than anyone here, but I can't continue filming right now."

"Ugh, why do you make things difficult?" Roman complained. "Just put on a happy face and do it! Except don't, actually, because that would ruin Logic's aesthetic."

I kept my gaze on Thomas, knowing my anger would get the better of me if I looked at the others. Thomas glanced at Roman but smiled at me, "Sure, Logan. We'll see if there's anything we can do without you while you take a break. Come back when you're ready."

Except I didn't get to go back when I was ready. A little while later, Patton came in to "check on me." Instead of asking if I was ready and respecting my answer, he scolded me for being selfish. This was important to Thomas, and I shouldn't be ruining his dreams by only thinking about myself. He went on and on. Finally, he ended it with, "Quit blaming everyone else for your mistakes, suck it up, and come back out to film."

My eyes opened to a room lit up by fairy lights. I stretched out my limbs and felt around the table in front of me for my glasses. Finally, I found them and the environment wasn't so blurry. It seemed I fell asleep during the movie night with Remus and Janus. Sitting up, I ran my fingers through my hair and took my glasses off for a moment to wipe my eyes. Only then did I register that there were voices from the kitchen, "Are you sure, Jay? We don't even have to say anything if you really don't want to."

"Darling, I wouldn't have suggested it if I wasn't okay with it. It's time for me to move on, yeah?" Janus replied softly, "Now, give me a kiss and shoo. I need to make breakfast."

"Aye aye, Captain!" Remus giggled. Will I ever get to that point? Shaking that thought out of my head, I finished tying my necktie and smoothed out my clothes as best I could. "Lo, you're awake!"

"Good morning, Remus." I said as I stood up. He cupped my jaw and rubbed the corner of my mouth.

"Little bit of drool there. Definitely not like me, I drool a lot in my sleep and snore quite loudly! Jay doesn't snore a whole lot, but when he does it's like that snake from Robin Hood." Remus mimicked the snore by snorting and letting out a long, snake-like hiss after. He grinned after a couple more snores, "It's cute!"

"I'm sure it's just so attractive." Janus said sarcastically from the kitchen.

"It sure turns me on, Sir Hiss!" Remus giggled and plopped onto the couch, patting the space beside him. "Wanna watch something while we wait for breakfast?"

"Could I actually ask you a question?" I sat beside him and waited for him to nod in reply, "What is Remus Chess? Janus mentioned it and said to ask you."

Remus' eyes lit up and he grinned so wide it must've hurt. He clapped his hands, "It's easier explained by playing, but you don't ever have to play if that's what you want. So I'll do my best to explain now! Okay, so..."

Remus Chess sounded... well, strange if I'm honest. I knew it would be a long while before I played it, if I ever did, because of the more sexual themes behind some of it. Talking about Remus Chess led to asking about Seven Minutes in Heaven and Spin the Bottle. I finally understood why Thomas was locked in a closet with one of his friends in high school.

"Get it while it's hot." Janus called from the kitchen as he gathered plates.

"You'll always be hot to me, J-Anus!" Remus called back with a grin, hopping up to go to the kitchen. I followed him but stood just outside of it.

"Thank you, but I was referring to breakfast. And I found some coffee for you, Logan."

"Coffee!?" Remus reached for the pot, "I didn't know we still had some!"

"Because I hid it from you." Janus shooed Remus' hands away from the coffee pot. "You, Mister, don't get to have it anymore."

Remus stuck his tongue out but giggled all the same. He grabbed some bowls of fruit off the counter and carried them to the table. Janus looked up at me, "Could you take those plates and the coffee pot to the table?"

Soon, the table was set for the three of us. Janus brought a pan over and set it in the middle of the table. I wasn't entirely sure what was in the pan... It kind of looked like some type of cake. Remus clapped his hands, "It's been so long since you made German pancakes!"

"What are German pancakes?" I mumbled to myself, not realizing I said it out loud until Remus looked at me.

"You've never had them before? Or maybe you know them by a different name! Let's see... Dutch baby pancakes! Or a Hootenanny! That's my favorite one." Remus giggled before grabbing a can of whip cream and spraying it in his mouth. I shook my head. With a mouth full of whip cream, he continued, "Then you can get dished up first! You get the pancake, then you cover it with fruit and whip cream and syrup- I forgot to grab my sprinkles!"

Remus jumped out of his chair, almost knocking it over if Janus didn't grab it. Janus shook his head with a small smile, beginning to cut into the pancake. He dished me up first as Remus said and gestured to the bowls and bottles on the table. Remus offered me sprinkles, but I declined the...oddly-shaped sprinkles. I had never liked sprinkles that much. Remus ended up taking three slices and stacking them on top of each other with whip cream, fruit, and sprinkle filling between them. He topped it off with raspberry and blueberry syrup, more whip cream, and the rest of his green sprinkles. Remus looked at me as he finished, "Cool, huh?"

"Oh, yes," I blinked a few times and looked down at my plate, "I apologize, I didn't mean to stare."

"Nah, it's fine! To watch such a masterpiece be built is an honor!" Remus giggled, "You should've seen the last time we had these! Huh, Snakeroo?"

"Oh dear, that was certainly a sight to behold... And a mess to clean." Janus chuckled and picked up his tea cup, "If you hadn't put the eleventh one on there, the tower might've stayed up."

"Ten is my lucky number! Just kidding, it's sixty-nine." Remus winked at me. I wasn't sure what his obsession with that number was... Was it a reference to something? Perhaps I should do more slang and meme research later.

"Anyways, since we're all here... Maybe we should discuss our relationships?" We talked all through breakfast about how we were going to... work, I suppose. I made mental notes about their traditions to write down later so I wouldn't interrupt them. Though movie nights (except Sundays) I was most definitely invited to as Remus said. Remus was halfway through his second tower of German pancakes, and I was just finishing my second cup of coffee when our discussion came to a close.

Janus got up to clear the table. I quickly got up to do the same. I picked up some of the bowls of fruit and took them to the counter. I hummed, "I suppose I'm not much help if I don't know what you want done with these or where to put them."

"That's alright, you'll learn. Oh, Remus, did you want to tell Logan?" Janus grabbed a container from a cupboard, "You can put them all in here and in the fridge. Thank you."

"Tell him what?" Remus said with a mouth full of food. I waited with my full attention on them to know what I was supposed to be told.

"At least cover your mouth, dear." Janus kissed the top of his head and picked up the last two bowls of fruit from the table. "Tell him what we talked about before breakfast?"

Remus stared at him, slowly chewing as he thought. His eyes widened and he nodded his head vigorously only to start choking. Janus set the bowls down and patted his back. I took a step closer though I was unsure what to really do, "Remus, are you alright?"

His face was buried in his arms, but he gave me a thumbs-up. He slowly started to lift his head as his coughing died down, "Not the first time I choked on something of Janus'."

Janus rolled his eyes and flicked him on the head. Remus just grinned and coughed more. Finally, he hopped up and cleared his throat, "That blueberry wanted to explore my lungs! But anyways, Logan!"

He went up and grabbed my hands, bouncing on his feet, "We thought that since you've been staying here more often, why not move in? Apple-Snack said you could have Virgil's old room! We can fix it up however you like and then you'll always be here! You're closer to your lab, away from those meanies, and closer to us!"

"Don't think I've heard that nickname before." Janus mumbled as he walked closer. He shook his head and rested a hand on Remus' shoulder to calm him it seemed. He looked at me with his small, yet reassuring smile, "You don't have to, of course. The choice is up to you."

Live here? I can do that? I suppose Virgil did it, so why couldn't I? Living in the Imagination all the time didn't seem ideal, and at least I wouldn't be around so much toxicity anymore. To get everything done in a day and still have time with these two, then this would be the best option. "Moving in sounds... Wonderful, actually. I would like to, if you really are sure it's okay."

"'Course it is!" Remus squealed and pulled us into a group hug, "This is gonna be so fun!"

I almost smiled though one thought turned my lips downward instead. I sighed, "I'm not looking forward to returning to the others to get my things... Or telling them I'm moving. Especially Patton."
