Chapter 28
Double upload...you're welcome babes...😘😘😘
Those who read A'roya won't be wondering why there's a sudden burst of fantasy right now. 😅
A'roya told me. But I'm seeing it for myself, and I wish I wasn't.
Maggie and I were tied up. Mom had demons...not only on the inside but actual demons, black tar figures, faceless with long tar-like claws. They grabbed us and fucking tied us up.
I don't care how childish I might have seemed. I cried, and so did Maggie. A'roya wasn't lying.
Mom's a witch.
We were brought to some underground prison that was somehow in a barn. My mother was speaking incantations the whole way. She made those....monsters sit us around a glowing pentagram.
"I thought you were joking," Maggie sobbed. "About your sister's husband and your mom. Vampires and witches? Are you fucking serious?"
"I have no idea what the fuck those are." I looked at the pitch-black monsters, waiting for my mother's orders. They reminded me of being in the dark....my heart rate accelerated.
I tried my best to breathe calmly for the babies, but it was getting harder and harder to even stay conscious.
This isn't human.
It was enough half-believing my sister's ominous husband's a vampire after seeing her son teleport into your hands but to see your mother speak demonically, spawn monsters, and have a giant glowing pentagram in an underground prison-like room.
Mom sat in the middle of the pentagram. Her eyes glowed, completely covering her eyes in dark light. She was hexing, cursing, incanting. I didn't know, at this point, if we were going to survive this?
Where were Zane and Nola? What happened?
Mom started laughing. "This is wonderful. My daughter is having two beautiful babies."
I suddenly had a flash of memories. A little boy and girl at the beach, a man and a woman resembling Zane and I playing with the two toddlers, laughing and giggling.
Then the memory vanished, and I was back in the room, heaving and confused.... "What did you do to me?" I cried, looking at Maggie, whose eyes were glowing like my mother's.
"Maggie...?"
She blinked, gasping. "What is she doing?"
"I'm looking at memories from your future, dear child. Before I kill the four of you, I want to find Leslie's daughter. Need to make sure no one continues this...search for me." Mother giggles. "Which one of you is going to adopt Leslie's daughter? Maybe it's Nola." Mom smiled slightly, walking toward me, and she placed her hands on my stomach.
"Don't touch me." I hissed.
She giggled. "You hurt me, dear child. These are my grandchildren, after all."
"Don't hurt my children!" I yelled, scrambling away from her.
Maggie trembled as my mother caressed her hair. "Should I go fetch your friend...seems like she's still waiting. Did you really think I would underestimate Zane Ali?" She shook her head, smiling. "Oh, A'raya, your sister shouldn't have done what she did. You guys would've continued to live."
"She saved us." I glared.
"She ruined me!" She suddenly yelled. "And that friend of yours and her father, your deceased brother-in-law. They were such a pain." Her eyes bulged. "I wanted to teach you, White, and A'roya to be witches, but your souls were too pure. Pathetic little creatures, and then the rest of my children were boys...they can't be witches." Mom rambled.
"I would never want to be you."
Mom smiled. "It doesn't matter what you'd want to be. Even though A'roya was a failure, her children weren't. Her daughter is a witch. I'm going to keep her daughter after I find a way to kill that wretched Vampire she has married. And your daughter...hm, she might be too pure, but your youngest daughter is a good candidate."
"What the fuck are you going on about?" Maggie asked. "You sound crazy...all of this crazy, just stop!"
"No!"
"Ahh!" Maggie flew back into the wall...just with a word. I crawled to her unconscious body, dragging her close to me until her head lay in my lap.
"Our family has had a long line of witches...some were good, some were bad. The bad was always the most powerful. Having you and her close to my pentagram, I can look into the future with your own memories. My limit for today has been used, but I will find out how you would have found Leslie's daughter if you...succeeded in this."
She quickly turned around and muttered a few incantations.
"Don't worry," she said out of the blue. "I don't fully underestimate you either. There is always a possibility that you will survive, and that is why I'm taking precautionary measures."
"Which is?" I said bitterly.
"I curse you, you whose name rhymes with Fable... God's oath. You're cursed with witch blood. May you be a sickly child, and may your mother suffer and worry in your upbringing. May she have nights of tears because of you. You are my next apprentice."
The pentagram glowed again, and images flashed in my eyes. My children, my kids. Four. Four kids.
There are two girls. Which one of them is cursed?!
Me. Me, I'm crying, looking at my child hooked to machines.
Zane. Zane's carrying a baby with tubes running through its nose...it's suffering...he's sad.
It's our child.
Our daughter. She's suffering, she's in pain, yet she won't die. She'll survive.
Her brother. Her brother wished he could help. He feels useless. Older or younger?! There are two boys?!
Who's who?!
"Leave me alone!" I shrieked. "Leave me alone. Leave my children alone. Just stop!"
My mother's laugh bounced off the walls. She's a witch. She's a fucking satanic witch....
"A'raya. A'raya darling?"
My eyes opened slowly. I felt such a powerful presence. Is it God?
"Right here, darling, look here." The voice was soft and sweet.
"A'roya? Did she kill you too? Did I fail?" I cried.
She giggled softly. "No darling, I'm A'rosya, your great-grandmother—or what is it, great-great-grandmother? Whatever. You can call me Rose."
"Am I dead?"
She shook her head. "No." She sighed. "I brought you here because your mother can not continue to ruin our bloodline."
"Bloodline—I don't understand. I don't want this. I want to be–"
"Shh, listen, child. I'm going to tell you a story."
I sighed, nodding.
"Our origin dates back to God and Lucifer's fight. Our generation starter was a fallen Angel. Her name was A'rella. She soon figured out her sins and repented before Lucifer could kill her. Even though God forgave her, she was not allowed back into heaven. Instead, she got to keep her powers and stay on earth. Adapting to the newly made humans, marrying a human man and that is how our witch bloodline was created. We were made to do good. My mother, though, was evil. She did the exact thing your mother is doing, but I wasn't pregnant or eighteen. I was twelve, and I was an apprentice witch. A'rella came to me in a vision to help me,"
"Is this like a normal thing, then?"
"No. Lucifer is getting back at A'rella for betraying him and messing with her bloodline. By promising more power, he turns them into greedy monstrosities. A'rella taught me something...this is not going to kill your mother but take away her power so that she is human and you can kill her."
"I'm not a witch, not even an apprentice witch," I said.
Rose smiled. "That's fine, child. I will be doing most of it. Just repeat after me. You still have some witch blood, after all."
"Ok."
Rose nodded. "Oh!" She snapped. I almost laughed at the uncanny resemblance A'roya had to her. "I almost forgot. Your daughter is cursed. There is no way to stop this; your daughter will suffer to be a toddler, and she will be a witch. But, she will not be evil. She won't be your mother's apprentice. All you have to do is tell her what she is so that she is aware that something like this could happen."
I nodded, rubbing my stomach. "Oh, and not this daughter, your other one."
"God, this is ridiculous," I muttered. "What will I name her?" I asked.
Rose shrugged. "I cannot tell you, darling child. You must go through that yourself."
"But—"
"Uh uh," she hushed me. "Repeat." She cleared her throat. "Virtus cum impiis delebitur. Mendacium revelabitur. Dono Dei mali expelluntur. Semitas justitiæ custodit, et viam fidelitatis custodit."
"Uh..."
"Don't worry, darling. You'll automatically be able to say it. You're of witch blood, remember?"
I nodded.
"Let's try again. Virtus cum impiis delebitur. Mendacium revelabitur. Dono Dei mali expelluntur. Semitas justitiæ custodit, et viam fidelitatis custodit." Her eyes glow a heavenly gold.
"Um, Virtus cum impiis delebitur. Mendacium revelabitur. Dono Dei mali expelluntur. Semitas justitiæ custodit, et viam fidelitatis custodit."
I felt warmth surging through me. My hands were glowing too.
So cool...
"Focus, darling. Focus on waking up in the present. My spirit is with you. Recite your power and protect the path of justice."
"What did you do," my mother gripped my jaw tightly. "Who did you see? Why couldn't I see?" She seethed.
"Recite your power and protect the path of justice."
Power will be undone with the wicked. Lies will be revealed. Those who are evil with God's gift are banished. He protects the paths of justice and guards the way of those who are loyal to him. = Virtus cum impiis delebitur. Mendacium revelabitur. Dono Dei mali expelluntur. Semitas justitiæ custodit, et viam fidelitatis custodit."
I'm at school lemme hop off before my health teacher takes my head off.
