Travis's POV

Everything was going great and when we finally killed it I ran over and got dads staff and went back. I was going to high five Katie but then I realised she was lying on the ground in pain. I panicked and knelt down beside her quickly. "Katie-Kat, w-what happened!?" "Drakon, claws, strike...." she replies. She doesn't need to say anymore. I pick her up bridal style and call Nico quickly. "Nico shadow travel over here with your boyfriend right now! Katie's been stabbed by the drakon!" "Okay where are you?" He asks. " California, on some mountain, but you'll see it there's smoke coming from it!" I reply. "Okay I'll be there in ten" he answers.

I need to keep Katie conscious! "Come on Katie-Kat, don't leave me!" She replies through a strained smile, "Wasn't planning too." "That's my girl." I mutter under my breath. "What?" She asks. "Nothing" I reply with a smirk.

Just then Nico and Will arrive and straight away Will starts giving her ambrosia and nectar and healing her wounds. "How is she?" I ask, I think he can hear the panic in my voice because he replies, "Don't worry, she'll live" Oh thank god is all i thought, I couldn't bear to lose her! Once Wills finished, I pick her up again bridal style. "I can walk now you know." She says. "I know, but this is more fun." I reply smugly. She just chuckles lightly.

Will gets a phone call saying that a hell hound got into camp and he needs to get back urgently because he's the head healer. He asks, "Will you be all right?" "I think we'll manage." Me and Katie say at the same time, we both blush like mad. Him and Nico shadow travel away and me and Katie see a truck that just happens to be heading to Long Island.

We go over to make sure there are no monsters or anything suspicious. But when I get there, there is a sticky note saying, this is for you Travis, thank you for retrieving my staff. It will drive automatically so you can chill in the back. Love, Dad.

Sweet i thought. Katie must have read it too because she looks quite happy. We hop in and what we see amazes us. It's a picnic laid out over the back of the truck with all our favourite foods! We sit down and start to tuck in!
