*Mihira Pov*

"I will take care of this." Maam said taking the file from his hands as he was about to pass it to me to type it in the system.

"It's okay! She can do it." Sir assured her while gesturing me to take it and I was about to but Maam stopped me again.

"You are making her do too much work. She needs to prepare for coming internals and you are already making her study for some exam during weekends." She pointed out while I stepped back a bit feeling awkward with the way they both are fighting like this because of me.

"You are worrying too much about her. She need not study for internals or even final exams for that matter." He assured her again while glaring at me.

Wow! This feels like my parents are fighting whether to make me work or not. I smiled at him before glancing at Maam.

"It's okay, Maam! He doesn't want you to feel tired." I explained and they both stiffened hearing those words.

"Fine! You do it then." She said passing the file to me while glaring at me for using those words.

I smiled at their reactions before walking towards the system and started typing with a smile covering my face.

I glanced at the couple in intervals and found that it is awkward between them right now. And I can see him treating her differently while I feel like a third wheel sometimes.

However, he is taking slow steps as it's been more than a month but there is no progress at all. Maybe it will take me to finish my graduation before they can become a couple.

I sighed concentrating on the typing part while ignoring these two as the lunch break will finish soon and I need to go back to my classes.

"Finished!" I mumbled passing the file to him and the pen drive which consists of all the student's names for the conference.

"See? She can do it faster than us." He complimented suddenly and I smiled hearing that while she shook her head.

"She can complaint that you are treating her badly." Maam pointed out and I immediately nodded at her words which caused him to glare at me.

"Go back to your classes." He ordered and I slowly nodded before leaving the place for themselves as even I don't want to feel frustrated with the way he is not taking any step forward.

"Why are they staring at me like that?" I asked Kavitha frowning when the supposed to be loose mouth gang was about to pass us when we were about to leave the building to go home.

"I don't know!" she replied shrugging but one of them stopped on their way to glance at us.

"We are sorry for those words. We will not talk like that about you again. Please assure your boyfriend." She said with a hesitant smile.

"Boyfriend?" Kavitha and I asked looking at her and she nodded before explaining how much they got scolded from the class representatives after hearing the seniors scold us.

After saying that she joined her gang before walking away while Kavitha and I stared at each other.

"Are you going to scold him?" she asked after a few seconds.

"No! He must have thought it will have more impact and that's why introduced me as his girlfriend." I mumbled shrugging and she smiled hearing those words before reaching the place where our friends are waiting for us.

"Abhi! You are too daring to introduce Mihira as your girlfriend near the juniors." Kavitha commented raising her eyebrow.

"I didn't do it. It's him!" Abhi pointed out Rakesh and both of us turned our normal expressions to glares while looking at Rakesh.

"It just slipped like that. They both are a couple in my mind no matter how much I want to correct it. I will need some time." He mumbled scratching his neck.

"Correct it properly from today. I am his friend just like you guys. There is no difference between you all and me for him." I stressed the words and he slowly nodded.

"Let's go!" I mumbled walking away to take out my vehicle while everyone did the same.

"Abhi! Sir is too slow and is not even saying anything to Maam. Was I wrong to think there will be a change between them?" I asked him while driving towards our homes.

"Just give them some time and don't get too much involved in their matters. No matter what they are our lecturers and we are just their students. They may not like it if you are too much invested like this." He replied placing his chin on my shoulder.

"Okay!" I mumbled clearing my throat while wishing he reduce this closeness a bit if possible but I don't want him to know that they affect me in some way.

"Finished your exam?" I asked Rekha when she reached the parking lot before everyone where I am waiting along with Kavitha.

"Yeah! Where are you going to treat us for your birthday special and that too after one week?" She asked rubbing her neck which made Kavitha chuckle.

Unlike last year this time I made sure no one wastes their time because of my birthday. I remember how tired Abhi was because of the planning and to stay late like that and I don't want the same mistakes to happen and that's why I even stopped my friends to celebrate my birthday.

"I am not sure. I am fine with anything for accepting my wish. I wanted you guys to write the exams properly and mainly Abhi. He had to attend exams without any gap, right." I explained and she stared at me hearing those words.

"None of us were going to do them badly just because we celebrate your birthday. But even this is fine as we all will not think about exams while celebrating." Kavitha mumbled.

"Can I say something?" she asked and I slowly nodded while thinking what could she be talking about now.

"You want Abhi to treat you just as a friend like he treats us but you are the one treating him as more than a friend. So, is this really what you want?" she asked in a serious tone and I opened my mouth before closing it.

"You got hurt because of his decisions and our actions which I accept. You have every right to be angry at us or hate us but you are fine with all that stuff and behaving like before forgiving all of us. Then why can't you do the same with Abhi? It's not like you don't love him anymore or going to stop loving him anytime soon just because you decided to be friends." She continued and I looked away realizing she is right at everything.

I closed my eyes not knowing how to explain properly so that she can understand why I am adamant to be just his friend.

"Why did he hide everything from me last time?" I asked turning to stare at her.

"Because I was his girlfriend. But because you guys are his friends, he didn't hesitate to tell you guys everything and even take support from all of you. Next time which I hope wouldn't be there, I want him to include me with you guys and take support from me too. I don't want him to be worried about me and just think about him as he did while expressing everything near you guys. Is it wrong?" I asked but she didn't say a word except for staring at me with a surprised look.

"Mihira! Is that why?" Kavitha asked with a shocked look on her face.

"I... I didn't think your thoughts went that way." She mumbled sighing before shaking her head.

"I guess I can't say anything else in this matter and everything is in his hands." She added and we stopped talking when we found others walking towards us.

"How was the exam?" I asked Abhi and he smiled nodding at me and I smiled back feeling relieved.

"Kavitha gave her Scooty for repair. So, I will be giving her a lift. Why don't you ask Vikesh or Rakesh or Kalyan?" I asked while glancing at Kavitha.

"I will take Rakesh's lift." She suddenly said walking away making me frown at her as she was stubborn to not sit on his bike again after their breakup.

"Let's go! I am feeling hungry." Vikesh mumbled and I nodded before we all left for the restaurant this time.

"By the way, two other people are joining us today." I said after we all sat down as I just got the confirmation from them.

"I invited them way back but they rejected it immediately. Now, they are joining us. Is it fine?" I asked looking at them and found Sir and Maam walking towards our table.

"It's late to ask us that now." Vikesh whispered while smiling at them before arranging the seats so that they both are sitting between Abhi and I as others didn't want to deal with them.

"Was it last minute, Mihira? It took this long to make him accept to come here." Maam commented while I shook my head smiling at her.

"I am glad you both are here." I smiled and she smiled before wishing me.

"Why are you not wishing her, Sir?" she asked turning towards him.

"I wished her on her birthday itself. I still don't understand why are we here between these students." He mumbled.

"You can leave then, Sir." She mumbled back before smiling at us.

"Maam! I am a huge fan of yours. The way you scared those bullies was amazing. And your smile is also beautiful." Vikesh commented smiling at her which caused her to chuckle.

"Why should we go after coming here?" he said before glancing at Vikesh.

"Then why are you complaining? Just wish her right now." She mumbled and he followed her words immediately.

"Mihira is right that you both are made for each other." Kavitha gushed over them and my eyes widened before I patted her shoulder.

"She is not feeling well." I mumbled while glaring at her but Sir is already staring at me with a doubtful look.

"You all are fourth-year students except for these two, right?" He asked looking at others and they reluctantly nodded understanding something went wrong.

I changed the conversation by talking about what to order and passed the menu cards properly while hoping he doesn't catch on all the things I did for them to be close to each other.

"Meet me at college tomorrow first thing in the morning." That's all he said after we finished having lunch and everyone decided to make a move to leave the place.

"I am dead!" I mumbled after they both left while others consoled me.

"I am sorry! I got lost over their chemistry." Kavitha whispered and I can understand her as even I feel that sometimes.

"Don't think too much." Abhi mumbled even after we reached our homes and I just sighed.

*Abhilash Pov*

"She actually skipped college to escape from his scoldings?" Rekha asked during the lunch break and I nodded at her.

"She said she will take no matter how many days it will take for him to forget the matter." I replied sighing.

"Let her do it. She didn't skip a single class after... after that day you know." Kavitha explained and I kind of understand what day she is talking about as it must be the day after she found out everything.

"So, you both are just going to be friends like this?" Kalyan asked looking at me and I sighed.

"I don't know! She is asking me for that but I don't want us to be just friends for sure. But I reject it then I don't know what she will say. What if she asks me to never meet her again?" I mumbled shaking my head.

"I can understand her though." Kavitha mumbled and I immediately stared at her.

"You know? Please tell me the reason." I pleaded her while she gave a worried look before glancing at Rekha.

"Even you know?" I asked turning towards her.

She nodded but then stared at me with a serious look before asking, "If I tell you, you should never let her know that you know and even make sure to remove her worry with your efforts instead of words as words will definitely don't have any impact."

I nodded at every condition and she calmly explained Mihi's reasons while none of us disturbed the flow and after that, I just sat there.

"That's a reasonable excuse she has behind her demand." Vikesh mumbled while others nodded at that.

"You have a long way to go." Kalyan said leaning back while Rakesh patted my shoulder.

"What if she doesn't come to college even tomorrow?" Kavitha asked looking at me.

"I will talk to Sir about this matter. Don't worry!" I assured her and she nodded before we finished our lunch but Rekha's words didn't leave my mind.

I want to see her right now and explain that it will never happen again but I don't think she is ready to listen to those words at all.

After our classes finished, I asked others to leave as I need to talk to Swapnil Sir and I even decided to take a cab home.

"Yes?" he asked looking at me.

"Sir! I am here to thank you for your help with the notes. I was able to do well because of that help." I replied and he slowly nodded but didn't say anything.

"And... it is actually my fault. So, don't scold Mihi about all that." I mumbled which caused him to stare at me.

"You mean calling your senior to the fresher's party? The one who was my student and also a Senior to Haritha Maam?" he asked and I nodded hearing those questions.

"Why? I don't think you know the past. I know Mihira meddles but she is not someone to share the personal story of others near you guys." He continued and I realized the mistake I just did.

"That..." I trailed off not knowing how to correct it.

"What is going on?" Haritha Maam asked walking towards us.

"Sir! No matter what don't scold Mihi about this. She really likes both of you." I pleaded with him.

"You are her boyfriend?" Maam asked looking at me and I shook my head.

"We are friends." I replied in a disappointed tone for informing our relationship like this when I want to be her boyfriend.

"But I can see you don't want that to be the case." She commented smiling.

"I did a mistake, Maam. So, she needs some time to accept anything beyond friendship. I need to work hard for her to love me again." I explained and she smiled hearing that while Sir cleared his throat.

"I already told her not to meddle otherwise I will meddle with hers too." He mumbled frowning.

"Do you know that I wanted to reject your Dad's request to send you notes? I had too much work to do and preparing notes especially without even a proper reason for his break from studies is not something I appreciate." He suddenly asked and I stared at him feeling confused.

"But Mihira pleaded with me to accept the request and even made a deal with me saying she will help me with all the works and will even prepare the notes but I just need to guide her properly." He added and I got stunned hearing this part.

"So, every day she spent time here from morning to evening whenever she had time just to learn a third-year syllabus from me and also weekends as I am not with complete knowledge for all the subjects. She is the one to type everything into the system and even mail you every day without missing one single time. She even calmly did everything I ask her to for my help. That's why I am teaching her regarding some other aspect after liking her dedication." He explained sighing.

"But we both know where that dedication came from. So, do you think she really needs time to fall for you again?" he asked folding his arms while I just stood there feeling shocked by this new information.

"So, that's why she doesn't need to prepare for exams." Maam whispered while I rubbed my head to understand what is going on.

"But you are being petty by telling her secret like this." She added.

"She was petty for meddling like that." He retorted.

"But I think that's what made you confess to me yesterday." She mumbled and I took a step back frowning at his words.

"But you didn't accept saying you need some time." He retorted while I covered my mouth to stare at them.

"Thank you, Sir! I thought you are not suitable to be her mentor and was with a bad opinion about you all this time but you are amazing." Saying those words I rushed out of the staff room and got into a cab while feeling rush in my veins to reach her side right now.

I reached her house before entering inside and found Aunty who is about to leave and I absentmindedly heard her asking me to inform Mihi to lock the door but locked the door myself.

After that, I climbed the stairs in a rush and opened the door without knocking and found her sitting on the chair near her study desk.

"Abhi! What happened?" she asked standing up when she found my expression but I ignored her question before stepping closer to her with everything running on my mind.

She helped her Mom with everything so that she can spend more time at the hospital for my sake. She helped my Mom with cooking and other things so that she will be able to care for me without getting tired. To the top of that, she worked so much from last year just for my sake so that I can get those notes and didn't skip college because of me. She made so many changes to her life just because of me.

If she doesn't love me then I don't think anyone loves anyone in this world. And no one will be dumber than me if I let her go.

With that thought, I placed my hands covering her face before pressing my lips to hers shocking her completely but I didn't stop kissing her and even took advantage of her shock by shifting my hand to her waist to pull her completely closer to my body with her back touching the table while pushing my tongue into her mouth.

She stiffened for a second before kissing me back and we don't know how long we were there like that but I shifted away from her mouth to trail kisses over her cheek and to her jaw which finally brought her reaction to this.

"Abhi! What are you doing?" she asked removing her arms from my back to push me but I turned to stare at her with a smile.

"Let's be friends like you wish, Mihi. I am fine with being just your friend." Saying that I pulled her into another kiss and smiled when she kissed me back whispering, "Only friends!"
