*Mihira Pov*

I sighed staring at everyone as they are sitting in silence while ignoring to stare at anyone except for Vikesh along with me but even he is upset like others.

I was looking forward to the well-talked trip for a year but who would have thought it would mess up in this way.

It's not like the reason behind them feeling upset is not justifiable but still, I am disappointed and I am fine with being called selfish.

"This is not at all fair, guys. You need to at least tell me what happened, right?" Vikesh asked frowning at us.

Of course, he is the one with major issues right now as he is the only one who doesn't know one single thing from the list of things that happened during just those five days.

But then I am the one who knows everyone's issues and that could give me more credit, right? Ugh! I never thought my house would become a place where silence is filled in every corner with so many people present.

#During the trip#

I smiled walking towards the vehicle that is at present in front of my house as we decided to get picked up at our places instead of reaching college.

"What are you bringing in that?" Abhi asked looking at my bag.

"All the essential things. My Dad packed a few and my Mom packed medicines while I packed my clothes." I replied smiling at them while he shook his head.

"Are you looking down on my parents?" I asked raising my eyebrow and he gave me a startled look.

"When did I do that? I just thought it is nice of them to pack all that while my Mom didn't even give me any packed food for me to take." He explained immediately.

"Oh! But Aunt gave me a few food items for me to eat." I mumbled gesturing the small bag I am holding.

"Seems like she doesn't love you at all, Abhi. But I am your closest friend, right?" Vikesh asked extending his hands to hold the bag.

"It's for everyone! You don't know how much Aunty packs for a single person." Saying that I stepped inside the vehicle and found the couple sitting at the back along with Kalyan while Vikesh is sitting in the middle and Rekha at the front which could be because of her sickness.

I sat beside Vikesh and Abhi closed the door after sitting down and the journey started. I smiled at the couple who are lost in their world while Kalyan is definitely thinking hard about something.

"Are you feeling fine, Rekha?" I asked shifting forward and she turned her head to nod at me but even she is lost in her world.

"Let them be! I am trying to talk to them for so long but none of them are talking to me. I am glad you are here to talk to me." Vikesh said stopping me from enquiring more.

"Even I can talk to you, Vikesh." Abhi said pressing to my side as a way to be closer to Vikesh but he is really closer than he should be in front of everyone.

I sighed pushing him away before asking if anyone of them wish to sit in the middle but no one is ready at all. I leaned back but then glanced outside to stare where we reached the outskirts of the city.

"Don't forget the beginning of this trip is the deadline." Abhi whispered near my ear as Vikesh is also looking outside at present.

"After holidays, right?" I whispered back and he immediately glared at me.

"It is no longer funny, Mihi." He mumbled and I smiled before shifting my hand to his hand before holding it but made sure no one can catch the sight of it.

"Let's just concentrate on the trip." I whispered before trying to make everyone talk a bit so that the trip journey will not be this dull.

When we reached the place we are going to stay, I found the place is packed with other people but still it is fine as we will be staying on the same floor.

Rekha, Kavitha, and I will be staying in one room while Rakesh and Vikesh will be sharing one and Kalyan will be staying with Abhi.

"If there was another girl then you three need not try to get adjusted in a single room." Vikesh commented while passing the keys.

"Exactly! You are the one to blame for not being able to get a girlfriend." I mumbled taking it from his hands before walking away while he got rooted to the spot hearing those words.

"We will be going to all the locations, right?" I asked glancing at Rekha who nodded smiling at my excitement.

However, the only couple in our group betrayed all of us to go separately from us and I ended up being with Rekha and Abhi more as Vikesh is angry at me and Kalyan is trying to pacify him.

"Take as many pictures as you can. This is your first trip, right?" Abhi asked when I was already doing that.

"Yeah! You know my parents and their busy schedule. My goal is to go on a trip every year with my friends." I replied turning to take the picture of the four people behind me.

"Come on! Even I don't have a boyfriend. Why are you sulking so much? Smile!" I added glancing at Vikesh before clicking their picture again and this time he gave a normal expression.

"I never expected you both to be taking the bet this seriously. We all are betting by ourselves to see who will break it first. We thought it will be you that day but someone you didn't confess only." Vikesh commented walking closer to us along with Kalyan.

"Of course! Nothing is more important than cool drinks." I said winking at him and suddenly someone holding me by my waist and I turned to see Abhi standing behind me.

"Why are you walking backward?" he shouted and I turned to see there are too many rocks and I would have fallen down.

"Because you are here to protect me." I replied and seeing his stunned expression I stepped away from him to reach Rekha's side and the others dragged him with them.

"At least join us tomorrow, Kavitha. It's been three days and you are always with him." I mumbled while getting ready to sleep.

"You are also always with Abhi even though he is just your friend. And I am just with my boyfriend. Who is more at fault?" she asked folding her arms.

"When was I?" I asked her in a shocked tone.

"You both seem to be lost in your world even though we all are there around you. Do you think we are blind?" she asked laying on the bed.

"That's because... we are friends." I mumbled laying down and closed my eyes but opened them when I heard a sound and found Rekha walking out of the room silently.

I frowned but then closed my eyes to sleep as we need to leave for the place early in the morning. However, I had to wake up after sometime when my phone started vibrating.

I lift the call and heard his voice saying, "Can you come to the garden?"

"Why?" I asked him yawning but he insisted me to just come and I got up before leaving the room after finding Rekha sleeping on her bed at present.

"What is it?" I asked reaching his side where he is pacing around with a worried look and sighed in relief looking at me.

"Rekha called me out to talk to me." He started and I nodded for him to continue.

"And she confessed that she likes me." He added and I got stunned for a second but recovered as I already felt this but never expected her to actually say it out loud.

"What did you tell her?" I asked staring at his face.

"I wanted to reject her of course but then I didn't want to hurt her like I did with you and want to do it properly and she didn't give me a chance to say anything too and left the moment she confessed. That's why I called you so that you can give me some suggestions." He replied while I stared at him feeling anger somewhere.

"Nice! That is a great development but why was I not subjected to it." I mumbled looking away and felt his hands on my face before he turned it to look at his face.

"I regret that and will always regret it but I don't want to hurt someone else and that is because of you. Don't be angry, Mihi." He mumbled and I sighed nodding.

"Sorry for being childish when you even told me everything like this." I mumbled placing my hands over his and he smiled.

"Just be honest and don't talk about someone else including me. And tell her how important her friendship is for you." I tried to give suggestions while thinking how I would have wished him to reject me that day.

"Okay!" he nodded before pulling me into his arms and I smiled hugging him back.

"What happened to you?" I asked Kalyan the next day while waiting for Vikesh to finish ordering for us and the couple still needs to return while Rekha and Abhi went to another place to talk but for others, it is to buy some water for us to take back to the rooms.

"I got rejected!" he replied and I stared at him with wide eyes.

"Who? When?" I asked and he smiled at my expression.

"Two days back and you already know the person." He replied and I kind of hint of knowing that he likes Rekha from the beginning.

"I am sorry!" I whispered patting his shoulder and he nodded with a smile but he still looks hurt.

Oh no! Even Rekha will get hurt right now. So, two people will get hurt like this and act fine in front of everyone.

And that turned out to be true as I found the same expression on Rekha even more covered when they returned but all the attention got turned when the supposed to be lovely couple returned with a fight between them.

"What happened to you both?" Vikesh asked glancing at them.

"We broke up!" Kavitha replied and I coughed hearing those words as I thought they just fought but what is she saying.

"What?" I asked along with everyone and they both nodded.

It turns out they are fighting every day during this trip and that's why they stayed away from us to not disturb our trip along with theirs.

"But... break up? Isn't that too much?" I asked Kavitha when we returned to our room.

"We have been clashing even before exams but we were trying all these days. Today we couldn't just hold on to it and broke up and now I feel relieved." She replied while I tried my brain to stop running like this.

I glanced at Rekha who is lost in her thoughts and couldn't even try to ask Kavitha anything else right now as she seems too determined with this decision.

The next day none of us even stepped out of the place as no one was feeling it and Abhi was also sad that he had to hurt his friend like this.

And that's how our trip ended which caused me to think maybe hearing the stories about trips is way far from reality.

#AFTER THE TRIP#

At present, I called everyone to my house as it's been a week since we returned and everyone is still the same. Even Abhi is not talking to me properly and just thinking about how to act before Rekha.

"Guys! I know everyone has their problems right now but at least talk it out with each other. You all are friends, right?" I asked looking at them but it feels like none of them are actually listening to me.

"At least say something and don't be silent like this." I added pleading them and turned towards Abhi who finally gave a nod with a smile.

"Concentrate on your friend first and don't get involved like this, Mihira." Rekha said standing up and I stared at her in a confused look.

"You all are my friends, right?" I asked back but she just walked out and Rakesh followed her without saying a word.

"Let it be, Mihi! Everything will be fine after the holidays." Kalyan left my house saying that and Kavitha nodded at me before leaving the house.

"Will you tell me what is their problem?" Vikesh asked looking at me.

"How would I know?" I mumbled looking away and that just made him to leave too.

I sighed rubbing my eyes before glancing at Abhi who is already staring at me. I shifted to get up but he pulled me down before placing his arm around me.

"I am sorry about that. Don't worry about them, Mihi." He assured me.

"Finally you are ready to talk to me?" I asked pushing his hand away.

"You should get more depressed that your friend got hurt." I added standing up but he followed me to reach my room.

"It's not like that. I was feeling awkward about everything that happened." He replied entering my room but I shook my head.

"I don't even know why everything turned out like this. And you didn't even contact me for a week." I accused him to which he just hugged me.

"Everything will not get settled like this." I mumbled but he didn't let me go.

"I shouldn't have done that. I thought you will be busy to care about Kavitha and I even felt guilty that the trip got ruined like this." He explained and I sighed before hugging him back.

"And that's why I was busy planning something for us." He added and I immediately shifted to stare at him.

"What is it?" I asked and he released me to sit on my bed but didn't say anything.

"Tell me!" I demanded and he nodded while gesturing me to sit beside him.

"This is possible only for the couple. But we are not a couple, right?" he asked and I rolled my eyes finally getting his strategy.

"I can't believe you are this stupid. Do you think I kiss just anyone, Abhi?" I asked shaking my head and shifted to get up but he pulled me back as usual.

"Are you serious?" he asked and I nodded smiling at his expression.

"Are you serious?" I asked staring at the thing before me while he stood beside me proudly.

"Why? What's wrong with this?" he asked and I looked around his garden before staring at the camping tent he placed and that too two of them.

"My Mom said she will prepare food for us and they will also join when your parents will be here. It will be like a family trip. You want even that, right?" he asked and I turned to glance at him.

I looked around and found no one around us and immediately stepped closer to place a kiss on his cheek.

"Thank you! I thought it will be like a trip for a couple or something and that's why I reacted like that. But this is even more special with our families." I mumbled and he smiled pressed his lips to mine for a quick kiss.

"This is just for today night?" I asked and he shook his head.

"Whenever you want this will be arranged." He assured and that made me smile more.

Family get-together? Who wouldn't want that? I want that more than any other thing but I never expressed it out but he got it either by coincidence or because he found it out.

"Don't tell our friends about us right now." I told him when we both are on our way to the college as the holidays finished and he is again dragging me to college on the first day which I usually skip.

During the holidays we spent time together with our families and also just us but no one found out what is going on and we made sure no one finds out.

"Why?" he asked and I sighed placing my chin on his shoulder like every time.

"We don't know how is everyone feeling right now. What if it is still the same? We should be there to support them and let's not forget about Rekha." I explained and he sighed back.

"Let's just wait for a few days and then tell them. I don't want any complications for our relationship, Abhi." I added and he slowly nodded.

"I am sure they must have gotten over everything that happened." He said and I hope for the same.

But then why was I wasting my thoughts on such hope? Because when Kavitha and I walked towards their table during the lunch break after forcing her to join as she didn't want to because of their breakup, it turned out to be a mess.

Kalyan and Rekha look the same while Vikesh looks irritated and Abhi smiled at us but what shocked us is Rakesh's words.

"What are you doing here? Didn't we break up?" I stared at him in shock while everyone was brought out of their state after those words.

"What are you saying, Rakesh? They are our friends." Kalyan was the first one to react.

"Exactly! Just because your relationship is done doesn't mean the friendship is also over." Abhi added while Rakesh glanced down.

"Ignore him!" Vikesh said and gestured us to sit down but Rakesh stood up from his chair.

"They joined us because I was dating her." He pointed out.

"I knew you were childish but not this much." I mumbled and he glared at me.

"Wait! You are right! Kavitha joined us because of your relationship and Mihi as her friend. Now, Mihi will be joining us because of my relationship with her and Kavitha as her friend. Happy?" Abhi said standing up and I glared at him this time.

"What?" Kavitha asked staring at him and everyone stared at him.

"She... she is my best friend." He explained and that calmed down the questions that were about to raise.

Abhi took charge of the situation and changed the whole seating arrangement on the table and now I am sitting between Abhi and Kavitha while Vikesh is sitting between Rekha and Kalyan as per the request of Rekha.

"Happy? Now, finish your lunch before the classes start." He ordered before taking a bite of his lunch while I continued to stare at him.

"What?" he asked frowning.

"You just looked really cool with the way you handled all this even though you nearly exposed us." I replied in a whisper while he smiled hearing those words.

"Don't forget to give me a reward later for that." He whispered back.

"Let's think about these people first." I mumbled but he shook his head.

"They are not kids. Let them deal with it and after the classes start normally they will not have time to think too much like this." He assured me and I nodded while glancing at others.

"I will come to your place today. My Dad returned from the outstation today and will stay home." I mumbled and he nodded smiling while I shook my head to finish lunch before the classes start.

Even the chapter is a mess... i thought of like deleting everything and write it again but there were moments that are needed... Don't be disappointed as I will fix it by next chapter...
