Soon the two giants lunged at the other in a flurry of rainbow feathers and dark brown ones. The room rumbled and shook as the two fought, occasionally hitting a wall or two when they flew around. With each hit took, the two soon were outside the base still in a maddening combat among themselves. Tan followed outside quickly to watch how it would unfold. She could see the feathers that rested in the wake, a mess off rainbows and browns. Each was pretty small, but sometimes Tan found bigger ones from the wings. Her stomach ached, painful memories surfacing of the Pearl she'd lost. She shook them away and continued following the feathery trail.

Eventually she found the two locked in combat...In the sky. A rainbow power pearl flitting about and dodging Dark Browns dives with ease and pretty effortlessly. Occasionally an attack would connect for one, but they'd shrug it off and go right back into the fight even with a few scars. Sometimes a giant feather fell loose but this didn't cease the combat. For hours they dueled, the darkened barrier getting farther and farther pushed back as Dark Brown is getting weaker and tiring out.

Finally Rainbowbird sees her chance and starts to charge up an attack. Her wings began to shimmer rapidly, and electricity starts to crackle around her talons as she flaps her wings and flies off higher into the air away from Dark Brown. The weakened Diamond, with wings aching, starts to plummet back down to the ground until she crashes landing on her back with a loud rumbling thud. Her back wings fall limp, but she quickly get backs up. With some struggle she takes flight again, chasing after Rainbowbird. She thought she had won the fight.

But little could stop her when she saw a blur of rainbow and lightning diving back down...Talons pointed right at her. But it was fruitless to try and get out of the way. Dark Brown charged up into the attack, wings spread to slow her as she tried to shield herself with her front wings.

When the attacked connected, a giant charged burst of energy blasts through the Diamonds entire body, gem and all. From the ground, all one can see is a massive sphere of crackling energy surround both Rainbowbird and Dark Brown before it explodes outward sending shockwaves scattering as the Diamond slams into the ground below on her back yet again...But this time she's motionless, her body riddled in cracks. Even her gem is cracked.

Rainbowbird wavers after the attack, still in the air. Her vibrant coloring starts to fade, and eventually she plummets back down...Landing not too far from the Diamond herself and sending up a cloud of dust. Though now Rainbowbird was blackened and motionless. Tan rushed over, fearing the worst. She was already imagining the worst, seeing Rainbowbird eyes are closed. If the fusion was gone and lifeless, she had lost her three four-wings and her most loyal Pearl.

So she waited..And watched.
